      me also i was taught to lean into the curve to avoid being thrown by gravity to the outside and having to exert more effort.

    I didn't know this. No wonder Carl Lewis was so disgusted by the Tokyo 4x100 men's 😳 failure. He talked about never seeing that one runner run a curve before. This makes sense. There is a technique.

    Missing a crutial point. The inside of the lane is the sweet spot, stepping on an imaginary line 10 cm from the curve. This gives a "free" advantage of .375 meters for every full curve because the full lap of the track is actually 398.5 meters running on the exact inside of the lane -- a dangerous thing to do because it's so easy to illegally step on the line. So instead of running safely 20 cm from the curve where the distance is 400 meters, you run 10 cm from the curve. Lots of time practicing this at full speed running on top of a hand made chalk line will produce desired results. Note how far into the middle of the lane this sprinter is running, not a very good example of efficiency.

    I have a relay competition tommorow and it doesn't even matter cause I'm like teh slowest of all the members. I'm the slowest because i start slow and i also slow down a lot during the curves😔

    Just thinking at motorcycle races, if they dont lean, they flip, is,nt it the same when running?

      A bicycle have a broader frame plus both wheels of the cycle will be on the ground always huge difference
