I loved that he signed off on his shows with that message, Take care of yourself and each other! It's too bad its not what MAGA republicans are doing, all they want is CHAOS, and more CHAOS! What is so sad, for me, its much easier to be KIND and CARING, rather than making others upset and angry most of the time! I believe this is why Hi-blood pressure is such a health issue here in America.

He was such an icon! I used to watch his show in high school and talk on my landline rotary phone to my best friend while we watched together and reacted. Old times! That’s sad he passed away! We will miss you Jerry!

I remember when he was our mayor, and he was one of the best we had, then he did the news on channel 5 WLWT, he was one of the best anchors we had, and most people don't know his tv show started out as informational, not sure whose idea it was to change the format, people liked the new format anyway, this is sad, R.I.P. Jerry was a very gentle, kind man.. in spite of his famous T.V. production, which I enjoyed! He was the gentle voice of reason in the midst of so much turmoil. A devoted father and family man.. I am so sorry and sad that he is gone.

I absolutely loved Jerry Springer. I never cared for his talk show where all the craziness took place. I take offense to msnbc calling him a controversial talk show host. He was not controversial. That label is for people like Rush Limbaugh and Tucker Carson. He was a kind, gentle man. I met him in person at the University of Cincinnati and was blown away by how personable he was. He was very tall and very good looking. He took time to hold a conversation and posed with us in pictures. RIP Mr. Springer.

I was laid up in bed for eight months back in 2000. I loved watching The Jerry Springer show every morning. Rest in peace Jerry.

No matter what you think about the show, it was amazing how a middle aged guy could connect and relate to young people in their most outrageous moments. It’s hard to not like jerry, even if you didn’t like the show.
I used to watch in the 90s when I was in the demographic of people who usually watched it. I even saw some of my college class mates in the show a few times. It was always funny.

@gianluigibuffon-bv7dq it depends on who you ask, their experience, and yours. When I was your (assumed) age, I would have had no reason not to believe that 79 is not very young. Shoot, 40 was kinda old to me 🤷🏽♀️ However, I am here in my 40s; married to my 70 year old husband, who has always looked and behaved much younger than 70. He has kept up with me in more areas of a relationship than one would think. I keep him as active as I can; he keeps me from overdoing things. I would hate to think about him passing on so soon 9years;) and I definitely do not foresee it at the moment ✊🏿

He brought the worst, lowest common denominator TV to the world, not caring how he exploited vulnerable people. After he'd finished in TV he correctly said "what have I done, I regret it all". His TV show was trash for trash people.
As a teenager I use to watch Morton Downey Jr and cringed for Humanity. Then Springer came along and it was just as bad. The question is, who's going to be the next Morton or Springer. Oh wait a second, we got the mainstream medias for that. 💯
