Annette and Jodie were both fabulous in the movie. It was heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time, and both actresses brought out every ounce of the inherent drama. A great watch for anyone, but especially for women of a certain age.

She's also quite graceful and funny, has a wealth of knowledge and stories, and is deeply honest and doesn't shy away from tough topics and questions. I also just love hearing that nice theatre-trained voice! Can't wait to see Nyad.

I’ve always enjoyed Annette Benning‘s work. I really enjoyed the movie The Grifters. I had never heard of it, and a friend introduced me to it a few weeks ago, and it was brilliant.

She gave the most spectacular performance of the year PLUS she’s a veteran actress with an amazing body of work. If she doesn’t get the Oscar and gets snubbed like she did at the globes it will clearly indicate the absence of artistic value of the US film industry. Rewarding Lily G is purely political (a good cause but NOT an artistic one) and Emma Stone has one already. I do hope this wonderful actress gets rewarded. It would mean so much for talent, skill and for shutting up ageism which is rampant all over the world.

Not to be a wet blanket and I haven’t seen the movie but do they point out that a lot of experts don’t believe she made the swim. I remember this and I think they were saying something about inconsistencies with timing and GPS and not enough independent monitoring. They believe her trainer helped her through certain parts of the swim.
