Annette and Jodie were both fabulous in the movie. It was heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time, and both actresses brought out every ounce of the inherent drama. A great watch for anyone, but especially for women of a certain age.

Don't forget to always walk in your truth, as you stand in your awesome power (while embracing your iconic authenticity)! "women of a 'certain' age": so coy... so demure... so Victorian-era prim, proper and lady-like. "Oh, my... you NEVER ask a woman her age!"
I thought Jodie was a standout in this movie. I really think she should get her Oscar for this role.

Saw the movie - Annette Bening's performance was spectacular and so was Jodie Foster and the rest of the cast! Such an inspirational, wonderful movie!
Annette Bening was fantastic in that clip and in this interview. Jodie Foster as costar is another plus. Sara’s comments and questions were full of her usual empathy
She's always the best interviewee. Radiates intelligence and warmth. She's also quite graceful and funny, has a wealth of knowledge and stories, and is deeply honest and doesn't shy away from tough topics and questions. I also just love hearing that nice theatre-trained voice! Can't wait to see Nyad.

I’ve always enjoyed Annette Benning‘s work. I really enjoyed the movie The Grifters. I had never heard of it, and a friend introduced me to it a few weeks ago, and it was brilliant.

@@WhenImBackInChicagoI’ve never done anything to him but simply report him for how he’s treated others. Mind you others on here have done that as well which is why his account was suspended. I’m about positivity and conversations regarding the show whether we agree / disagree. Many people have told him to stop and apparently he’s still doing the opposite. Which is why I’m glad I don’t see his comments anymore. Also thank your feedback about Annette I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE her humanitarian and theatre work.
She gave the most spectacular performance of the year PLUS she’s a veteran actress with an amazing body of work. If she doesn’t get the Oscar and gets snubbed like she did at the globes it will clearly indicate the absence of artistic value of the US film industry. Rewarding Lily G is purely political (a good cause but NOT an artistic one) and Emma Stone has one already. I do hope this wonderful actress gets rewarded. It would mean so much for talent, skill and for shutting up ageism which is rampant all over the world.
The movie is great and Annette and Jodi did a phenomenal job. I’m a huge Jodi Foster fan girl and now I’m a huge Annette Benning fan girl too.

Not to be a wet blanket and I haven’t seen the movie but do they point out that a lot of experts don’t believe she made the swim. I remember this and I think they were saying something about inconsistencies with timing and GPS and not enough independent monitoring. They believe her trainer helped her through certain parts of the swim.
True, but there are always sceptics. Apparently, Jodie knew them. I don't think she would do the film if she thought it was not based on fact. But, who knows? Is there a God? Who knows?
