I am 63, the same age Diana was when she accomplished this! I hadn't been able to swim since my brother suicided 1 yr and a half ago, I was devastated.
The day after watching this inspirational, edge-of-your-seat, suspense movie, I went to the local pool and signed up! Thank you all 4 for your incredible strength and love.❤

I read that Annette Benning was a lifeguard when she was young so that's genius casting. And of course, Jodie can do no wrong. I had never heard of Diana Nyad so I enjoyed the film just for them bringing her story to life.
Jodie is my fav.

I love that they all get to interview each other. The platonic dynamic they have in the film is so full of support and love. It had some fantastic scenes.
Diana seems like such a chill person who basically gives zero fucks about what anybody thinks or who stands in her way when trying to accomplish a life goal-love it!
I did not know about the story of Diana Nyad, brilliant! I admit I watched the movie because of Jodie Foster, who has already won all sorts of awards and can now relax and do her best work. But I really fell in love with the story, the amazing Diana, the friendship with Bonnie(basically the best friend in the world). And Annette Bening, wow, what a great surprise. The story deserves more than an Oscar, the power of Diana's spirit is otherworldly, she is herself at all costs, and that's why she never cared of the limitations imposed by the times or the people or the package of standards and rules about gender, age or romantic preferences. This movie shows how much work there is behind every failure and every success, the sweat and pain and tears, and the things you give up or lose on the way, to become good enough to bend the rules of the world.

I agree with you 100% I loved the movie! So well portrayed and a story well told. Great performances! I saw the interview of Diana with Oprah and something that stuck with me since then is her mantra “Find a way” I use it in my daily life and have taught my sons to use it as their mantra too.
And when Diana says “…chase big dreams and have the courage to fail…” wow! It really does take courage to fail and more courage to get up and keep going!

This is one of the best films I've ever seen. Thank you to the four of these women for showing that there are no boundary's to what you can do. No age limit. I was touched by the friendship of these two women and the years of hanging in there. I would say this film is Oscar worthy.

An awesome and inspiring movie. Annette and Jodie really were the only two who could play their parts. Diana Nyad and Bonnie Stoll made a difference to a lot of older women, including me.

Why is it unlikely? Annette Bening has to not only be nominated but she needs to win. Her performance is absolutely incredible by all means.

Of course the Oscars rarely get it right considering how they never gave Oscars to Hitchcock, Chaplin, Kubrick and gave awards more than once to winners that don’t stand the test of time. Neither Lily Gladstone (who owes the hype of her performance and nomination mainly to her ethnicity and physical appearance and to the director) nor Emily Blunt’s performance which is fine but doesn’t hold a candle to the tour de force of Annette Bening’s performance should win. If you haven’t seen Nyad I couldn’t recommend it more. Her performance is just mind boggling and more so if you really know how far it is from her natural hyper feminine nature. Just brilliant. And that’s also regardless of the fact that she’s the oldest nominee which granted shouldn’t be an issue.
Well, they probably won't win this year, but they were at least both nominated!

Incredible! Just watching them after the movie and it's like seeing them in double. It has an immense impact about delivering a memoir into our present moment by the power of film,script,actors... Also I must say,it'll always stay in a special place of reach when I lose the hope or motivation... They are all individuals without any tags and NYAD is a great example of a film about telling a life long journey by women with women... Top notch performances and seeing such a lovely communication they have over curiosity and joy... I wish I could be on that table with them all

I haven't seen the movie. I'm in awe of the gratitude that everyone sitting at the table has for each other. Sure actors act but there's something more happening here. Maybe it's the best of humanity that we are seeing & feeling. I can't wait to see the film❤

Such a treat to see this conversation. The story is amazing and when I saw that a movie as coming out about it I was honestly a little scared. Maybe it would not be able to convey the amazingness? But when I saw it I was so pleased. Such a great performance of all parties involved.
Annette Bening did a very good job in this film. Both the actresses, but Annette was very incredible.

I love the way the movie showed, and honored, the people who worked on Nyad's team. A lot of people give up their time and money to chase a dream. Like Benning says at the end, one person does not accomplish this alone; it takes a team. Maybe the heart of a great movie.

Diana spoke at our corporate conference recently. So inspiring.. lots of chills and tears, and that never happens! Excited to watch the film, with two of my favourite actors.

It's so interesting watching totally different types of people discussing actors playing the part of the super athlete with nerves of steel to swim that distance in shark infested water. The Actors dont have a movie about them, even though I like them but they arent the person the movie is about. NYAD is a legend of our time.

In the end of the day, the story about human nature and determination is unreal ! It’s absolutely the most beautiful film of this year… no killing, no production of atomic bombs, just pure inspiration for all of us.
