From this video and what I've researched about it, Earth X feels like a story that Alex Ross really really wanted to tell but made very little compromise on how to make it more approachable and less convoluted
I think part of the thing with the appendices is a holdover of its origins. if I got my stuff right, earth X started as a hypothetical in a Wizard Magazine about "what would marvels kingdom come look like" and they got Alex Ross to write it and give concept art and stuff and eventually they were like "fuck it let's make it a thing"
Panda: introducing thepandaredd plushy also know as the guy!!! Me wanting to get it but is broke asf: did Panda just stubly confirm that "the guy" batman calls to adopt child sol.. I mean kids is a stuffed bear 😳😳
Panda my man I already have enough stuff i still need to read. I know I’m complaining but seriously man you dropped my into the deep end of comics and I’m loving it.
The amount of lore Panda said is needed makes me think that this is a JRPG style Comic like Yakuza or Persona or something XD Awesome video Panda, worth the 6 month wait
I read marvel comics from like 04 to 12. and did know most of the characters that were involved in Earth X. It's a dense,Dense read but probably one of the most brain rewarding ones I've seen. It's not very emotional but very cool.
Oh my god - *I* know who Machine Man is!!! This is wild because until very recently I only tended to read comics with almost no connection to major teams and timelines because they didn't seem very newbie friendly to jump right into 60+ years of history. Especially prior to the internet being widespread. BUT one of the few comics I did follow was Nextwave, and he was in that.
Having read the trilogy, trilogy being a loose use of the word, due to the other 2 parts being in fact each 2 books themselves and each being about the same thickness as Earth X. I really hope that if the series is finished, its for fun and not a video, cause its a commitment to get through. Either way I really enjoyed this video and have looked forward to it since it was announced. You made me understand this story soo much clearer.
For being able to wade through that novel and even being able to condense it down to four story perspectives (The Backstory video, Cap, Reed, and Machine Man) I truly commend you Panda. Listening to the synopsis was very nice and entertaining for in a relaxed manner. … Now for the other two.
I'm glad we got to see the video that took so much work. I love this series and the idea of the cbbc. I would like to see more comics that you want to cover instead of leaving it up to a poll every time. I think creators are happier and make better art when it's something they enjoy and are motivated by. I think the passion comes through and is contagious. My favorite youtube videos are ones that the poster decided to make, not one that was asked for by viewers. But that's my two cents. I hope we get to see more, but I totally understand needing some time and that it might not be in the cards to do more of these considering the effort vs. the payoff. Either way, thank you for sharing what you have and working so hard for us.
Yeah Earth X and its sequels are are dense but a super interesting. The mix of characters and the redefining of major marvel wide concepts reminds me a lot of Kingdom Come.
may have said this last video, but I read the first few chapters of earth X back when I still didn't know which characters marvel and dc owned, I needed to be told by my teacher that batman wasn't in it because batman was dc. probably didn't help that most of what my library had for marvel was crossovers and amalgam comics. And this apparently... ... in the kids section.
As someone with only the context of the previous lore video, I think this is well done in breaking down this book. I can see where it would be exceedingly difficult to try and tease out what is worth talking about in such a dense book. Also, that book trailer during the credits is certainly a trailer. 😅 I'm excited to see what you work on next.
I'm really impressed that you got this video out, honestly; I would have given up. It sucks that your neurodivergence/mental health negatively influenced your work and life so much without you realizing for a while, and I'm glad that you ended up getting treated. Despite the wait and how unsure you are about the format, I really liked the video, and the general format of this series. To me, the video was legitimately worth the wait, and I'm not sure how you managed to condense this much information into 45 minutes. But obviously if the format doesn't work for you, you deserve to change it up! I'm so glad you're doing better, and I'm very excited for whenever the next CBBC video comes out, regardless of the style it's in or how long it takes to come out :) Your tiktoks and videos on youtube are the reason I got into comics, and I don't see that changing any time soon, so myself and a bunch of us will still be interested whenever videos come out
I'd watch an Adam Strange story. Like, I hella like that character This is a fantastic video and exactly why I never read these books. Also that is the most 90s ass thing. Love that for them. It was nice to see the models that Ross uses for some of those shots.
Hey Panda, good video. I can see why it was hard to make a video out of it. Anyway, I got a suggestion for you. The cult classic video game Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines is (hopefully) getting a sequel that drops this fall. How is this relevant to this channel? Well, a few years back they made an official Vampire the Masquerade comic book that ties into the latest edition of the table-top RPG version of Vampire. So Vampire the Masquerade Winter's Teeth might get some extra eyes on the channel if you drop it near the game's release date. Winter's Teeth is meant to be an introduction to the setting so it should be easier to make a video out of than Earth-X was.
I think the "trailer" is something altogether different. This is all from memory and that's not a great roadmap. 😁 Anyways, I seem to recall that back in Wizard magazine, Alex Ross mentions doing a live action video for Earth X. And I think people could get a copy of it by buying the deluxe version of the series. This was back in the olden times before TH-cam or TikTok, so video sharing wasn't really a thing yet. And not to mention a video that long would have taken FOREVER to download in the dark days. So I'm pretty certain they sent you a *gasp* physical copy of the scene. This was far enough back it was probably even on VHS. Again, though, this was a quarter of a century ago (Holy crap I'm old).
Me, who also has ADHD: Wait, what do you mean the last one of these CBBCs was 6 months ago??? *looks* Well shit... Though I don't think most of us would have noticed the breaks between episodes, I hope you find a format that vibes better with you. I know I'll be here waiting for whatever it ends up being, at least for me it doesn't feel like any time has passed.
Earth x was my first comic book run I read all the way through and I loved it my step dad had all of the earth x and universe x I read and loved them I did not know about paradise x so I will be getting that aswell as heralds
Can someone tell me why TH-cam tried to hide this from me? The notifications are turned on for this channel and I’ve been waiting so long for this while watching panda’s other videos, yet, I didn’t notice this video until a week after it was released. Why you do this TH-cam? Explain
Thank you this was good but there's some stuff missing from the other video you keep referencing to watch for context. The Skull mentioned the others died due to mental strain but still not who he is what his purpose was, inhumans seeing the vibranium people in space not covered at all, Franklin becoming Galactus no the tiers of evolution yes so I understand he evolved but not when he left or how he took over Galactus, or anything about machine man
The history of earth bit and celestial energy in planets and stuff is so close to what it normally is anyway I kinda wish or hope this is the deep canon and explanation for the gods being a thing yet not actually "gods" not important at all and doesn't impact anything as it would be something that would go on for a majority of human life that the reader doesn't need to know. But this helps explain deeper questions I've had
Hey yall, I have a question. In the last earth x video, panda said that the birth of the skull killed all telepaths. But in this video we are shown that Madelyn prior was still alive. How is that possible, I thought she was a telepath?
Wait a second. If every psychic character is dead, how is Jean Grey/Madelyne Pryor still around? She's literally the most powerful psychic in the Marvel Universe!
You weren't kidding, this is incredibly dense. Go ahead and do something less stressful, like juggling chainsaws on a unicycle or something. You've earned a brain break.
I have a skit idea if you’re willing to do it or haven’t done it yet It’s about everyone in Gotham’s reaction to Bruce Wayne, disappearing as a teenager and then coming back like seven years later absolutely jacked and then shows up a demon bat that breaks mentally ill peoples bones in his free time
From this video and what I've researched about it, Earth X feels like a story that Alex Ross really really wanted to tell but made very little compromise on how to make it more approachable and less convoluted
"I know its late december" *looks at the date and see that its the first of janurary*

CBBC needs to make a comeback
The behind the scenes process of this video is like its own meta-commentary on what it's like to mentally digest Earth X.
26:43 Wait, what? Panda Redd... have you not read Nextwave? Dude!
I can't express how much I love these videos! Even if this one took a while, I'm happy to see this series continue!
Having read the trilogy, trilogy being a loose use of the word, due to the other 2 parts being in fact each 2 books themselves and each being about the same thickness as Earth X. I really hope that if the series is finished, its for fun and not a video, cause its a commitment to get through.

I mean, I've seen manga like Attack On Titan and Tokyo Ghoul in the kids section at libraries before XD
@@wolfiethefurrygamer1908 mine atleast knew to put manga in the teens area, which makes the comic thing a bit more silly.
@@Fanatic_Foremem yee
Earth X was the book that got me into Marvel.

Panda, imma be so real with you, bc of my own adhd, I didn't even realize it had been 6 months.
....
I really need to look into meds myself
it has been 8 months since the last episode of this monthly series.
I love these so much, absolutely worth the wait and worth waiting for another!
I finished it up this morning, and it took me over a week to finish also..You're right,it's so heavy in lore and it's rich in history
Six months of waiting, worth every minute
Yo Panda talking about my favorite comic series, LETS GOOOOOOO
I'm really impressed that you got this video out, honestly; I would have given up. It sucks that your neurodivergence/mental health negatively influenced your work and life so much without you realizing for a while, and I'm glad that you ended up getting treated.

“Thanksgiving is this Thursday”
God I love it here
Well, Happy New Year to you too, Panda
Panda legit went though a war in this vid
i wish these long vids were as easy to make as short ones, i wish they were effortless so we got them whenever J read a good book
Bro I literally had a dream that you were going to post this today

How was I not told this was up!
Woo new panda video drop!
Wish you happy new year panda ❤
Hey speaking of Alex Ross, have you read "Justice" . I adore his art in it, my favourite comic by Far. would love 2 hear what u think of it!
Imagin reading each part As. It. Came. Out. I lived through that.
To quote Titanic: "It's been 84 years"
... this came out when Wikipedia was in its infancy. YOU CAN'T JUST DO THIS KIND OF STUFF, ALEX, YEESH XD
IT'S HEREEEE

My favorite elseworld.
PANDA UPLOADED LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO
I'd love to see a video on Kingdom Come from you.
31:33 this effect requires GPU acceleration?
Yeah.... Ruins is certainly an experience
I feel like this story would be much better if told as a tv series where you could get into the nitty gritty as b plots
Hey yall, I have a question. In the last earth x video, panda said that the birth of the skull killed all telepaths. But in this video we are shown that Madelyn prior was still alive. How is that possible, I thought she was a telepath?
comes out in a whole different year😁 but I did find it fun to watch
I read this years ago but I haven't read the sequel series
"once a month"
last CBBC video was 7 months ago Panda
Wait so. Am I to understand the story time with panda format isn’t happening anymore?
Would you like the books League of Regrettable Sidekicks and the book League of Regrettable Villains
First comment of the year!!!
Wait a second. If every psychic character is dead, how is Jean Grey/Madelyne Pryor still around? She's literally the most powerful psychic in the Marvel Universe!
Wait...if this trailer came out in the 90s...where did they play it? Because they definitely didn't have a youtube to put it on lol
What happened to 'show not tell'?
Truth be told, I have seen small bits and pieces of Marvel Ruins. I forever regret knowing that it exists.
You still doing Comic Book Book Club?
Anybody else pause to rewatch the study guide? ✋️
the prequel Marvels X is more easy to read
You weren't kidding, this is incredibly dense. Go ahead and do something less stressful, like juggling chainsaws on a unicycle or something. You've earned a brain break.
