I'm sure you guys have been getting so much advice, but I just rescued a lab/golden mix puppy and our vet gave us a few tips I hadn't heard before so I figured I'd share them! When he is eating its good to sit by him and pet him so he doesn't get protective over his food. Its also super important to touch him a lot, like his ears and toes so he gets used to it and then when he's at the vet he won't be nervous about being touched (also helps with getting his nails trimmed). Another tip thats specific to labs and goldens was instead of telling him "no" when he's doing a bad behavior, just ignore him. Since those breeds are such people pleasers, all they want is attention whether its good or bad, so the ignoring thing surprisingly works so well. I hope these help :)

By no means am I saying you guys don't know about dogs but from my experience all of my dogs have always played like that and they have never been violent! It's just how they like to play so don't be worried about that!

paige I was coming here to say that top, that's just how they react instinctively that's kinda what squeaky toys are meant to mimic, and any dog I know has never been violent because of them haha
all dogs play like that lol my dogs get crazy but are the most loving things . boo is not being mean you guys are doing great.

Shaking his toy like that is just an expression of play, not to say an aggressive dog doesnt do the same thing but in boo's case he's just hyper or playful.
That's what I thought but then our vet said otherwise. So as long as he's comfortable with us petting him while he's playing then all is good!

A really good tip for you guys is to just cook plain white rice for Boo, no salt or anything and give him that. A bland diet for a day or two will definitely help him. Or pure pumpkin purée (not pumpkin filling) will help with both constipation and diarrhea and alwaysssss keep him hydrated when he's having diarrhea :) just a tip for the future! You guys are doing great! He's the cutest

So funny listening to this - we got a puppy too beginning of August and have gone (and are going) through some of the same things. Boo is adorable. Hope you get to sleep soon. Also, our Willow had diarrhea also - turned out it was a couple parasites which happens a lot with new puppies.
i had such a bad day today worrying about love and about myself.. this video just left up my mood so much!!! it made me so happy and made me smile! Thanks for sharing Dan and Alex!

Heyy maybe one tip for the dog, im not an expert or anything but maybe its better if you dont leave a big bowl of food out the whole time instead give him meals through out the day. At least thats what we do cause we used to always have a big bucket of food outside ready for our dog to eat whenever he wanted and eventhough he got a lot of exercise it made him really fat

Richelle Heina true! and also feed him only once a day, we used to feed our puppy morning and night and he got chubby like a little ball, then the vet said to only feed him once, and he got back to normal weight quickly!
Hey guys! You might not see this but I wanted to put my two cents if that's cool lol. I grew up with dogs all my life, I currently have two shitzus and a Rottweiler :). Firstly, I think you'll do just fine and you'll know and grow to learn what your pup needs and likes as the days go by. Next, it's always nice to get advice and ask questions from pet owners, esp if they have dogs (since boo is one👻🐶) so you might know these already but I'll just state them in case, 1. It's important that boo has all his shots before going outside..I see you have sectioned off the house, during that time you train him to go potty on newspaper in ONE area. After he has his shots, he may go out side and roam, usually for my dogs I let them out first thing in the morning, then in the night after their meal. During the day they go and play cuz fresh air is good haha. Second, he's young, the food is too much and don't leave it out all day. Give him small portions of dog food and add some water to soften it up until he's used to it and grow a bit more. Take the bowl away when he's finished in the am and pm. That's him playing, completely normal. He's not being aggressive at all and there may be times when he may snip at u while playing and your hand is near his mouth (talking from experience) but it's in no way harming you. They think you're playing and that's fine, it's all in dog nature :) my shitzu Trixie is temperamental and she growls and barks when I tease her and act crazy but that's her personality and she's so funny lol but as I pet her head she wags her tail and loves scratches by her ear. She also loves attention..her mom is diff, she's so obedient and loving. Also, when their sick their instinct is to eat grass and throw up, but if it's something worse and they're not being themselves and not eating, take them to the vet ASAP. Anyways, sorry this was so long as u can tell I'm a dog person haha boo is a cutie and you'll be just fine! xx

If you mix the soft with kibble, he will gobble it up. And limit to 2 feedings a day. He will do great and will help with his diarrhea too. He is so adorable
Natural balance is a great brand for dogs. High quality. Also soft food causes their bowls to be soft and runny where as hard food is great for the development of their teeth. Just some tips I hope this helps.

Just a tip: If you mix water with the dog food it will make it softer and easier for your puppy to eat it! Just let it sink in for a few minutes before serving. I did it with my dog and it made him enjoy his food so much more!

I know this is way late and it’s December and boo has grown, but just in case he ever has the eating problem in the future or you get another puppy someday; this may help :). Puppies need a routine, and when they’re little their mom always feeds a few times a day usually at a certain time period. When we bring in new puppies or even strays we like to get them in a schedule right away, it especially helps if you’re on a hurry and they need to eat and are kennel trained. Like I said puppies when first bought aren’t used to unlimited food supply; so we usually feed them three times a day a certain amount of food. Within a few days they know when you get the dish that it’s time to eat then they eat it for a while and we put the dish back up. A dog is never too old to learn a routine :)) you guys are such great puppy parents!! Lots of love for you guys and boo

Grass is good for them to chew if they have a stomach ache or our sick my vet told us it helps with there digestive system bc my dog always did it and so does my cat hope this helps next time if his sick / has a stomach ache again ☺️

you guys should feed Boo grain-free dog food if you arent already! Its amazing for dog's health and youll see a difference in the softness of his fur! I buy my dogs Acana lamb&apple flavour! i have a 10 year old pup and a 1 year old pup, they absolutely love it! xx
yep, just commented that too. by the look on the kibble, its probably some grocery store brand, Orijen/Acana is the best way to go.

He is so cute!!! Just a thing, I don't know how things work in Canada but I'm studying vet and one of the first things we learn is that puppies can't go outside until they don't finish their vaccination cycle when they're 3 months old. They shouldn't go outside (if they go they have to stay in your arms and they can't touch the floor) by any means because their bodies don't have their full defenses and they can get diseases (even mortal) really easily. Although he looks really vital and playful, he's still very fragile. So I would recommend you to wait until he's done with his vaccine of this year and then take him outside of your house 😊
That doesn’t seem right, about not being able to touch the floor outside. As long as it’s not in dog, fleas or tick infested areas it should be fine.
when we brought home my puppy he was so calm and chill. nut once he gets a month older it will get way crazier!! and dont worry too much about him being a little sick.. keep in mind he just moved from his old home, changed environment will do that, just make sure you guys stick to the same food brand!! youll both be loving parents. xoxoxoxo ps. I see a lot of other comments about Boo playing with his squeaky toy. Well, dogs are natural predators? Dogs were domesticated to help humans to hunt, you can't really train out that evolution of a dog wanting to thrash like that. I know you said, "the vet said it's a sign of aggression." But there hasn't been any study with dogs to prove that because all dogs are different and all dogs react to training differently. What matters is your puppy parenting! and Boo seems perfectly happy with you
My dog plays like that all the time and he's never been aggressive towards another animal.. my cats brought live mice into the garden and he just sits and looks at them confused lol and then walks away. It never hurts to be careful, but I wouldn't worry too much
Watching these videos makes me miss when my dog was a puppy. :( the puppy stage goes by so fast! I can only remember some parts of my dog being a puppy, makes me sad. :(

I would get smaller dog food with our puppy we have a big dog and we started with feeding her like puppy food and she ate it right away but we put a little bit of chicken on top of it so she would eat it at start and yeah

I'm not sure how you guys are going about a feeding schedule but with my puppy we don't leave his food out for more than 30 mins because that teaches him he only has a certain time to eat. If a puppy eats every so often here and there he will have to go #2 more often. We feed our puppy in the morning and then at night and he goes to the washroom right after. Hope this helps! Boo is a cutie :)

It’s best to try and give him the food that his breeder was giving him as well as you can’t give him hard food just yet soft food is best for puppies 🐶. He may be throwing up because he’s nervous and it’s a new environment. He may be using the bathroom a lot because of the food.

Just so you know. I would switch him to a grain free puppy food more like Fromm or scans or orijen, zignature. Something that has less than 27% protein since he is a big dog. You can join some dog groups on Facebook about diets.

Actually when they say if you destroy one section of flooring you have to replace the whole floor in most cases they aren't lying. The flooring is sold in lots and if you try and just replace one section it will not match the rest of the floor which will look awful and take away from the value of the property. This is especially true with wood flooring but, even with carpeting. You can't just go back and find a section of the flooring you bought two years ago that matches so yes, you'd have to replace the whole floor. Trust me, my dog destroyed a portion of our wood floor and we ended up having to replace ALL the flooring in that room and even then it didn't match the flooring in the rest of the house anymore. It's expensive.

Are you gonna allow him to go in the living room once he's trained well? The best advice I can give you from having three dogs, is to just love him and play with him a lot! When I got my dog and we put him the in crate I did exactly what you did, train him on what you think it's best! He's a beautiful dog, he's gonna get big so fast! Btw I think you and your sister look so much alike! Love all the vlogs lately! Can't wait for more!
