That’s going to send you to the dealer early for a starter & alternator issue. I think this is by far the dumbest feature they are adding to all cars. Your car is basically cranking multiple times per drive far more than ever before. They need to give people a way to shut it off completely.

Although expensive as hell on a Porsche, changing an alternator or starter should be relatively easy. My concern would be that these cars have up to 100 computers in them and many need to communicate with each other to decide when to shut your engine off. Imagine when they go bad. Like many things in life, simpler is better
Now I know,, while on traffic,, the engine must stop then, when you push the button to activated,, next stop ,,no more engine shut off,, continues idling engine to maintain air-con is on,,
I find this feature very annoying and wish there was a way to deactivate it. I can understand Porsche’s desire to maximize their CAFE average, but can it make that much of a difference

Am I the only person that actually likes this? I have 2 modes for AC on my car though so I can changes the AC setting for less stop and more cold AC, that’s the only thing I don’t like

I agree! The first thing I do on every ride is to turn this feature OFF by pressing the button to ON.

You can pull the fuse to disable the unit, use that fuse spot and hardwire a radar detector so you can turn it on or off using the same button.
