Bike looks sleek, clean and beautiful. I want one! Btw... So, after the industry divided road bikes into aero, climbing and endurance, now they want to reunite the three into one. Brilliant marketing!
This bike looks a lot like a BMC Roadmachine... It also seems like they bought the ICS (Integrated cockpit system) rights from BMC...hmmmmm. Curious to hear what the deal is?
Tesla's Secret yep. Not too many people bringing anything unique to the table anymore. And this is from the “big guys” who actually do R&D, supposedly. There’s a million small fish out there who just make crap or buy cheap stuff from China and rebadge it with a Western name.
@@404nobrakes Well, the entire industry, press very much included, told their client base that they need their bikes to be faster stiffer and more aerodynamically efficient. No wonder that they ended up buying them. That market shift led to the uniformisation of bike frames we see now. Consumerism at its worst really. What about introducing a other Saint trinity, one of "comfier recycled and cheaper"? I've enjoyed the materialistic part of this sport perhaps more than the average rider even, but I wouldn't like this industry to become yet another niche of stupidly wasteful luxury.
Tesla's Secret there’s nothing wrong with everything being stiff, light and aero. The whole industry has been playing this game for decades now, though. At some point, people don’t want faster horses. They want an automobile.
@@404nobrakes That's exactly what I'm on about. At some point, for the average Joe, a bike is a bike. Selling extra performances to those who don't need it is selling delusion.
I think road bikes are going in a strange direction, 7.5 kg! I have an aluminium bike that weighs 7.6kg. Why do I spend hours training and dieting to be lean when bikes are getting fatter!
@@chrislang4858 I think the pricing will stay similar but you will only be able to buy low end rim brakes, because the big manufacturers won't bother making them for the mid level/high end groups. And if you wanted to buy a more decent, higher end rim brake you'll have to turn to small brands and most likely pay a premium. Also, it might be possible that the manufacturers will stop offering brifters for cable actuated brakes (already the case with Shimano GRX). But at that point, it won't make sense to run rim brakes (or cable discs) because the price difference will be so small, or non existent. Most of this already happened in the straight bar/MTB world a long time ago. You can get the cheapest straight bar hydros that Shimano makes for €40. That's for the pair, including calipers and levers. (A pair of Tiagra 4700 rim brake calipers also cost €40...)
Embargoes are a mainstay of any industry, allowing people to test and try the products and have a write up ready for when the product is unveiled. They help everyone. The alternative is less exposure for the manufacturer, no articles for the journalism outlet, and no information for the consumer. I'll pass on that.
What a nonsense. Like they can't do a proper test afterwards without an embargo date? Is it a coincidence that embargoed pieces often lack all kind of criticism?
@@feluacc Sure, lets have a bike come out then ensure that for a month or so they have to buy it without any sort of thorough test to consult. Really helpful for the consumer.

I am in love. Always wanted an Orca but this 2020 model is simply irresistible.
Very nicely shot! I love all the camera angles that showcase the frame design.
Nice to watch a video about this bike that isn't a sponsored advertisement. Lookin at you, GCN.
BikeRadar rulez! !
So where’s the report back sir? Can’t see it. Would help as I’m thinking of buying it.
Design and engineering have peaked and converged - all bikes look the same now
Previous Orca it's the best ever made... lightweight, fast, stiff and especially recognizable
Looks like a BMC Teammachine SLR01/02.
So how does this stack up against a ribble endurance sl r in terms of motoring on the flats?
how tall are you and what is the size of the frame?
How is heavier than a Venge though? That's a tough sell. Price might be the only argument in it's favour.
Love it

all these bikes are unavailable wow orbea i really want such a bike but cmon how is that even possible?
Woowwww beautiful bike love her
So it looks like every other "superbike" out there, costs about as much, and rides just the same. Cool.

No one: "We need a new road bike in our range." Orbea/Cannondale/Specialized, etc: *Gets out tracing paper*

Aero this aero that. I'm getting tired of all this marketing stuff. Can't we let the windtunnel decide that? And until then stay a little cynical.
Price ?
Orbea OMG how expensive!
What I can't stand about the Orbea bikes is how heavy they all are.
Meh.....I'll stick with my TCR thanks!
at this point everything looks the same
more aero, more compliance

Meh, get a canyon and save money.
Oh yes another disc only....

I don't trust videos that are uploaded with an embargo date. Clock strikes four and 'first looks' appear everywhere.

GCN’s first look at the new Orbea

This frame looks suspiciously like the frames Durianrider buys from China for dirt cheap.

Why watch that creepy arsehole?
