    The amount effort you put Into these videos with the photoshop, and the measurements is so evident. Always love your videos. Keep up the good work :)
    A video on best looking bikes in the pro peloton would be appreciated by many on the channel I suppose. I find your analysis quite intricate and would like to watch more videos of you comparing bikes purely on aesthetics

    The SuperSix Evo wheelbases listed are correct. The fork rake on the 54cm and smaller is 55mm vs 45mm on the larger bikes. Also the smaller sized have slacker HT angles, further elongating their wheelbases.

    You have great taste! (I recently ordered an Orbea OMX frameset, size 57.) I love the modern combination of lightweight, disc, and semi-aero, so I compared the same set of bikes. In the US, the OMX frame costs $3,500, which is significantly less than some of the hi-mod frames ($5,000+.) Also, I want to run my own bars, so I appreciate the u-channel stem design. An interesting design choice is the oversized head tube bearings with cables running inside. The negative is a fat, non-aero head tube profile. The positives are stiffness, no binding of brake lines, and a not-unreasonable setup/maintenance situation.
    From front axle through forks, steerer, downtube, bottom bracket (BB386 EVO), and fat chain stays to the rear axle, this bike should be efficient in putting down the power and have a solid platform for handling descents. The svelte top tube , seat tube, and drop seat stays, plus room for 32mm tires should keep it comfortable without any gimmicks.
    Regarding geometry, I strongly prefer a short rake for linear handling and this has 43mm. The reach and stack aren’t super aggressive like the Willier, and that suits my preference. Add in nice details like the elegant seat post clamp, sculpted fork to frame joint, and Di2 port - plus custom paint - and this was my clear winner. Can’t wait for it’s late-January arrival!

    • @kevintoth5365
      @kevintoth5365 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And you can customize colors for no extra cost. Amazing looking frame...

    • @JonFairhurst
      @JonFairhurst 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kevin Toth - Since I posted that, I’ve received the frame, built it up, and have done many rides, including big climbs and a Century this past Saturday. The OMX is fantastic! Great quality. Beautiful paint. Stiff as can be on fast descents, yet the seat tube/post area really compliant. The handling is ideal - quick and precise without being twitchy. Yes, there are lighter bikes, but the OMX checks every box, is on the lower end of the price scale for a modern, integrated frame, and you get to choose your colors. No regrets. Many, many smiles. 😀😀😀

    • @kevintoth5365
      @kevintoth5365 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JonFairhurst hey...:) I was going to ask and you just posted. Thanks for pointing out the beefy head tube which I like. Can I ask which color you went for. Matte or glossy.? If you went for glossy let me know if it chips. Oh and congratulations :))

    • @JonFairhurst
      @JonFairhurst 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kevin Toth - I went with a matte paint job. The main color is mouse gray with metallic graphite as the fade-to color. Black forks with the titan pattern. The Orbea logos and fork highlight are lemon yellow. The top of the top tube is black and my name is metallic graphite. I love the color combo.
      The main challenge with the matte finish is that it can soak in grease, so it’s important to keep it clean. I use a 4:1 mixture of water and Simple Green in a spray bottle. I spray a bit on a cloth to wipe off any grease spots. Glossy paint would be easier, but the matte gray has a specific character that glossy gray lacks. Matte gray has a kind of rugged look. Glossy gray can look like an appliance. I have no idea if it is more prone to chipping.
      BTW, I went with Ultegra Di2, which works great. Electronic makes sense with a hidden cable frame to avoid and binding or resistance due to sharp angles. The front brake hose turns 100% with the fork. The Di2 wires are soft and pliable. That just leaves the rear brake hose, which turns 100% freely. That means that the steering turns from one extreme to the other with no effort. Depending on how you set up the bars, it could chip the paint on the top tube. (I have one little spot from when the bike was being built up.) When storing my bike or using it on a stand, I use a bungee to keep the wheel straight. It flops around so easily! Very different from a bike with four cables flopping in the wind in front of the stem! My old rim brake bike looks so untidy now!

    • @kevintoth5365
      @kevintoth5365 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JonFairhurst I also loved the mouse grey until I saw a video called dream build ORX where a glossy white was displayed with glossy gold logo. The titanium pattern on the fork is a must. It's so cool we can customize colors so we don't end up with factory colors. I wish we I could select glossy and matte with same color on the frame but we can't. If you choose only one color you only can select matte or glossy. Why we can't mix. I would even pay extra. Anyway fantastic frame and finally with no extra charge we can choose colors and even patterns. Interesting to see so many color combinations on Facebook and Instagram.:)))

    Very interesting! My only questions would be to ask if it was possible to take the wheels / finishing kits into consideration with the pricing at the end, and not just groupset. It may be that some manufacturers are using more expensive (not necessarily better) finishing components. And I know that Canyon are a direct to consumer supplier also, which saves some money :)

    Having a bike that is more aerodynamic is a good thing. I’m just not sure a deep section rim of between 50-60mm is that great for us mortals who can’t ride a bike at 40kph for 40km to get the advantage. Heavy and slow to accelerate too.
