I have never been to a Haywood Smokehouse but after watching your reviews I will try one of them the next time I stay close to one. Due to your reviews it makes it a lot easier to plan things when traveling in different areas when you're not sure what's good and family friendly. Thanks again as always and hope both of you have a Blessed Week.

Glad you find our videos helpful. We highly recommend Haywood Smokehouse. We go to the one in Waynesville the most.

Great review on the smokehouse bbque after your Waynesville review, we told ourselves the next visit up, we are going to stop and try it. Thanks for this Franklin review , proud Shawnasi at least tried something different than her usual and got an honest review of the quesadillas. We have never ordered the burnt ends, they looked like something we would try for sure. Haven't been in Franklin in quite a few years, we gem mined there for years and camped at Rose Creek Campground !! Thanks for the ride along and reviews.

With burnt ends, you will get some that are a bit tough, but most of them are tender enough to cut with a fork, which makes up for the tough ones. It is probably my favorite way to eat brisket.
This was our first time overnighting in Franklin, so we figured this was a great time to try the last HS location. We're glad we did.
Can't wait to get back to the one in Waynesville. Hopefully soon.
Yes, Shawnasi enjoyed her quesadilla. The lady who checked us into the motel, suggested that to her. Not sure how it came up where we were going to eat, but that's the story behind that.
      Thanks for watching!

On your recommendation (of the other two locations) we ate at the Franklin Haywood Smokehouse a couple of weeks ago on vacation. Our reaction to it being situated on a strip between a church and a quilt shop was a little like yours...caught off guard, but hey...I always visit the quilt shops when we travel anyway and it's good to see churches popping up everywhere (as long as they preach the gospel and stay true to The Word of God.)
We did enjoy our meal, however...as someone who has eaten my hubby's brisket...he ordered it and he was justified in mentioning that it was tasty but way too fatty. It was not trimmed as well as it could have been. I had the half chicken, very juicy and delicious! He got the mac 'n' cheese and burnt end beans, I got the beans also and some of the best homestyle collard greens I've ever had in a restaurant. Our server was a local, the lady that walked by during your video. We were more than well taken care off, and we enjoyed talking with her about the old ways...canning and gardening, etc. She was a delight!
When you come to Saint Augustine for Night of Lights, we'd like to recommend one of our favorites down here... 4 Rivers Smokehouse. There will be one just off the 295 bypass in Jacksonville FL on Hwy 17 (Roosevelt Blvd) before you cross the St. Johns River. Their brisket is some of the best we've ever eaten! They have several Florida locations, so you may have tried it before. We go there for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, but it has to be Monday through Saturday, as they close on Sundays to rest and worship. 🙌 For this alone they would have our support, but everything on the menu is outstanding...and they have a separate bakery section that has an amazing selection!

Well, we're glad you had an overall good experience on your visit to Haywood Smokehouse. This is the first time we've ever tried the Franklin location.
Brisket is one of those things that people like different ways. I personally prefer it to be somewhat fatty, which is one of the reasons I get the burnt ends. They usually have much more fat than the sliced brisket. I'm sure that's not the healthiest way to eat it, though.
We have actually eaten at 4 Rivers, in the Gainesville location. We enjoyed it a lot, but we weren't doing TH-cam videos and restaurant reviews at that time. It's right there off of the exit that we usually stay in Gainesville, on our way down to Florida.

Thanks for the review. We live just across the mountain in Hayesville and have never tried this place. We tend to eat at home a lot, but we need to go check this place out. We usually go to Fat Buddies for BBQ when we are in Franklin

We ate at the Fat Buddies in Waynesville, and really liked them, as well. But yes, definitely give Haywood Smokehouse a try. I think they have really good brisket.

Next time y'all are in the Franklin area, go to the Sunset Diner. But, if you make down as far as Helen again, it's worth it to come further into Dawsonville and go to Big D's BBQ. Since you like burnt ends, Big D's has a sandwich called the Brownie, that is stellar!!! Also, their fried green beans are fantastic.

Thanks for the suggestion. Next time we're down that way, we'll have to check it out.
