Hi Timothy! Franklin, NC, is always a beautiful, nice, vibrant, and peaceful place in the mountains. In your video, you mentioned to the man you were speaking with that you will be visiting Highlands, NC next. Well, let me tell you, Highlands, which is also in Macon County, is a very beautiful, vibrant place with many upscale shops, restaurants, and lodging. It also has museums, many arts-related centers and venues, a large botanical garden, natural beauty and waterfalls everywhere, and an abundance of seasonal festivals and events throughout the year. It is a place you are not going to want to leave after you finish your walk and talk tour of that town. The town's elevation is 4,118 feet, and the mountain views there are breathtaking. I guess you can tell by now that it is one of my favorite places. A person would have to spend a few days in one of the fantastic hotels, inns, or B&Bs to truly appreciate the feel of this town and what it has to offer....and there are no speed breakers anywhere. Be and stay safe out there, Timothy! GOD bless!
I agree. I did not make it there after I left Franklin. But I returned last week and checked it off my list. Very beautiful as you said. My wife and I definitely want to go back when we can spend more time hiking to some of the many falls in the area. Thanks for all the info 👍
I've been to a lot of NC towns, but Franklin and Dillsboro might be my favorite of the NC towns so far that I've never visited. Of course, I still have a couple of hundred towns to watch so there will probably be plenty more surprises coming my way. Thanks!
Thank you for this video, Mr. French. I'm moving to right outside of this fine town in July and I can't wait for a new beginning. I was raised on the entire other side of the state in East NC and now I'm ready for Western NC's mountains.
Very nice video, My father & mother are from Franklin N.C. Most my family is still there. I wish I could move back but my son won’t let me. Thank you ❤
You should consider doing a video comparing/categorizing the different types of towns you visited. You must have a lot of on the ground insights on things like rural poverty and the like
I’m thinking of doing something like that after I have visited them all. That way I can give a fair comparison and have updated information for them I the same time. Thanks for the suggestion. And thanks for watching 🤣

Thanks Timothy ! What did you like better - Franklin or Dillsboro?
Franklin had more shops but I liked the wooden structures and uniqueness of Dillsboro’s town center.

The wood sewing device at 1:48 is a spinning wheel. My grandmother had one that her grandmother had used.
Thank you. I could not think of the name to save my life.

Thank you, TH-cam algorithm!

Does Franklin, NC have any murals downton? Thanks
The only mural I saw was of a bear in the alley leading back to a parking lot near Wells Fargo. And I think there is another one near the 828 Cafe.
Can you do Ashville if you haven’t already
Nvm found your video on it 😂
my hometown but still love living here in Hayesville Better
Both are beautiful but I like Hayesville better myself 👍
I love Hayesville , and it got Expensive to buy a home .
Prices on homes are getting ridiculous that’s for sure. Then you have to add the higher property tax on top of that.
