I was so hyped to try vertical streams for TH-cam and have tried it a few times but I’ve never seen a stream show up while scrolling through Shorts besides pausing and tapping the Live tab.

Fantastic video as usual, the only question I have about it is, what multi-chat method do you use with the horizontal chat on streams recently? I love the horizontal chat and its always used in my streams but have no idea how to make it work with multichat. Is that something you could do a video about, or is there a lot of coding etc that's been done that wouldn't work for a video?

Why use restream when you have a plugin on obs for that thats free
i noticed when using the restream chat for multiple streaming platforms you have to go in every time and select the youtube broadcast that you are going live with. especially if youre changing stream titles regularly. the one thing about youtube and restream chat i didnt like for youtube is there is an impressive amount of delay.

You take a screenshot, then you create a mask in a photo editor, then you create another source and cut the part you want with that mask

Using the image mask filter in OBS.
You will need to create the masks externally as PNG files.

Hey there Nutty! I have a question. How do you cut the UI elements off OBS? Is there a plugin to download to get that feature or is it already in the recent OBS update?

I bought the razer huntsman mini and then I heard of the woothing 60e.
I want to say that I have really low experience with expensive keyboards but for whatever reason my vulcan roccat tkl feels nicer and more premium on touch - could be the back, the case etc, maybe its because its plastic and its more user friendly? than the razer huntsman mini. (i have the purple switches on my razer and no analog ones atm) - paid 120$ for it
My question is, if I buy the woothing do you think it will be a change in percieved build quality since I head its made by plastic? Is it worth doing the upgrade? The most important things for me is performance and build quality. (woothing is 180$ in my country) - I am really sorry for the off topic but I think it helps you with the algorithm too

Can I ask if this was successful? currently this is what I'm trying to do as well, horizontal for twitch and aitum for vertical on youtube.
Based off a comment I saw, looks like I have to schedule the stream each time on youtube before going live on aitum.

So the only issue I have come across here is, if you are triple streaming, you can't use vertical for 2 different sizes you can use vertical for a 16:9 and have all your twitch alerts seperare so they only show on twitch and you tube only shows on youtube, and if you use the multisrream plugin instead you can't make separate scenes to sepersre the twitch and you tube elements. It would be great if vertical allowed different screen sizes. Or multistrwam plugin allowed it's own scenes

Wait a minute. How's the process for the whole Apex Legends health bar? Like, I understand you use Affinity to cut it very precisely in a screenshot and then I guess you use an image mask but... How you manage to be able to move it around the canvas like at 3:37?
Make a mask in Illustrator/Affinity Designer/Inkscape/your graphics program of choice.
Right click your gameplay > Add a filter > Image Mask/Blend > Select alpha channel in the drop down > Select your mask (should be a PNG file)
That's basically it.

First off, great video! However, for some reason, my vertical stream plays on the standard TH-cam player with black bars on the sides when I have my stream on a private feed. I am wondering if the stream will change to the Shorts feed when I make it public or if I am missing something else. Anyone feedback would be helpful.
Whenever I add a second scene on AITUM Vertical it just fucks up all of my transitions. I tried deleting the transition matrix and all things related to no avail.
I didn't want to program scene as sources showing up and hiding whenever I change horizontal scenes but I might have to. Oh well

You might have used Photoshop pen tool to do so but how did you added that those custom shaped game UI Health bar, etc elements on OBS canvas?

I normally multi using restream and just hit go live. If i add the vertical stream key, is it just as simple as hitting go live, or do i have to do the schedule go live first and then does it obs tell YT that im live or do i go to the schedule and part to make it happen
You have to schedule it every time unfortunately.
I wonder if it's possible to make a second Restream account and doing it that way. Might be worth trying.

Make a mask PNG file then add it with an "Image Mask/Blend" filter over your gameplay.
You should use Source Clone to make a clone of your gameplay first, then apply the mask to the clone, otherwise you will crop your whole gameplay source.

with streamer mode in discord I want the horizontal to be linked not the vertical, Do you have a special way to make sure this happens? I usually can have it work that I start horizonal first wait a bit than do the vertical. but it doesnt always work.

Subscriber only chat will help filter the chaff. I had problems with bots chatting for a while, that's really the only way to cut a lot of garbage

Cant qualify as a short it's tolong
Views during the broadcast don't count towards the normal view count after the stream. But any views after the stream count as regular views.
the only problem with this program is it only supports x65 OBS version

It's built into OBS.

Hardest thing is to remember the order to start everything so my BOTS know to work with the main stream as they cant work with multiple YT streams on the same channel at same time.

Use Multi-RTMP! Then make sure to set all instances to “faster” or “fast” preset for the best experience (no lag).

Literally every TH-cam bot will have the same permissions. TH-cam does not divide their scopes sensibly, so you end up needing excessive permissions just to read chat messages. Not the developer's fault, it's TH-cam.
Thanks for the video! Does this worry you at all about getting new subscribers that won't watch your videos? I worry about that a lot and that's what's stopping me. These shorts streams tend to get a ton of exposure. I don't want a bunch of dead subs who only watch shorts when my channel is long form.
TH-cam doesn't care about sub count. Dead subs don't matter as much as people think they do.

idk what I'm doing wrong but OBS just crashes when I try to run both to stream. Was doing Twitch as a normal view and YT in vertical layout. I click stream for Twitch. then Stream for YT and it crashes. Any idea why it is? Thanks community.
