Syrian refugee achieves dream of becoming a doctor

A Syrian refugee who came to Ireland when she was 14 has achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor.
Suaad Alshleh has received a first class honours degree in medicine and will start her intern year at an Irish hospital next month.
Suaad was the first recipient of a scholarship for high-performing Leaving Certificate students from disadvantaged backgrounds five years ago, and says the support was “life-changing.”
Now, she is focused on one goal - “to be the best doctor I can be.”
