  • This is a Bus Trip Review from Houston Texas to Dallas Texas using Vonlane (bus model: Motor Coach Industries; MCI). The travel time between Houston to Dallas was three hours and forty five minutes.
    Vonlane is a luxury intercity bus that travels to/from Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio. In addition, Vonlane is known as "private jets on wheels". This bus has two crew, a bus operator and the stewardess (or cabinet attendant).
    The experience on this bus was EXCELLENT! The service and the crew were friendly and professional. I felt that this trip was quick and I wish it was longer. The seats were spacious, comfortable, and clean. I rather be on this bus than flying on a plane. The only issue is the Dallas Bus Stop (at Double Tree Hotel). There is no transit connection at that stop. I had to use Uber to go to Downtown Dallas. I look forward using Vonlane when I go to Austin this Fall.

    Excellent video, no talking, and just the facts. I really love that so many bus companies are getting into luxury bus service.

    I work for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), you can walk down Mockingbird Ln to Cedar Springs Rd (about 5 min) and catch the route 55 - Love Link Shuttle, it’s our bus route that runs between DAL and Love Field/Inwood Station.

    • @HOUExplorer
      @HOUExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes. Route 55 is another way. The nearest bus stop is near the intersection of Cedar Spring @ Mockingbird Lane ( goo.gl/maps/yu7w6dV9BcBVsXfL9 ). Thank you for bring this route up.

      That’s why I travel with Bose headphones. Even though noise cancellation doesn’t block talking the headphones themselves have foam that mutes that and crying babies quite well.

    Great video and I appreciate you sharing the journey. I travel to Dallas and San Antonio from Houston for work and have recently been thinking of alternate travel to stop from driving myself. This Vonlane looks perfect. I see you have a Redbus video as well that I'm going to check out. Thanks again!

    High Speed rail may put an end to this. It takes too long to get fron Dal to Hou. I can see how it would be an improvement on SW Airlines if you have the time and given the condition of that air travel. But the train will be quicker over all and will not feel as crowded. We shall see soon.

      They have been promising that rail for decades. It still hasn’t happened. I took this bus and it was luxurious and comfortable at a low price. Loved it. It was not crowded at all. There are only a few seats and they are oversized and comfortable.

      I wish I was back, but that video was recorded on the first week of June. However, I do have plans to visit Dallas in August. And for sure, I will ride the Orange Line from Akard to BLJ Central Station.

    Why to the Hilton? Why not downtown?

    • @HOUExplorer
      @HOUExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. That is one of the downside of this ride. Overall, the bus service was excellent, but it would be great if it would terminate either in downtown or uptown.

      Contract deal that focuses on the business community, riders get discounted rooms. Agreed that cities need to capitalize on the opportunity here and create better intercity transit hubs near downtown. Preferably next to light rail or BRT stations.

      Something is not right about the hotel destination as the only stop in Dallas. They could have just as easily stopped at the DART station and then gone on to the hotel. I 'm thinking politics. What a shame.

    The CEO of Greyhound is behind the 8 ball if he has not join Greyhound in this venture. Greyhound should have been leading in this kind of service to diversify the company profits.$$$$ Shame on the President of Greyhound INC.

    • @ronclark9724
      @ronclark9724 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Greyhound has been closing their downtown bus stations and doing renting space at downtown hotels or city owned bus and train intermodal facilities lately, slowly but surely. They would rather rent a lobby than own commercial property downtown doing their best to avoid property taxes.

      Not really. The Hyatt downtown is central as well as where it terminates. I’ve taken this bus and it was better than flying.

    This is interesting until you learn it is cheaper to fly and get there much faster..
