Great demo. on how to put these together. The final outcome was very pretty. And the lint brush to clean the die of paper is a great tip!

Thanks so much for sharing to use the lint roller to remove the bits of paper, I am so going to use that idea! Great tip also on drawing the veins on the leaves, that is so cool and it really does make it look realistic. Your cards turned out so beautiful, love them! Hugs

Thanks so much for this tutorial Candace! It is so helpful to see how you added all the veining and created a more rich and realistic look with the distress ink. Plus that lint roll tip is the bomb. :) tfs hugs, Kristina

Today I glittered them. I am loving it!

+Jesse b What? That's very cool, I bet they look great.

I bought good double sided tape for the first time. I put that on the paper, die cut it, and then glittered. I punched out some snowflakes from the excess and glittered those too. I actually really love the "leaves" where I let the green glitter mix with both reds and a hint of the gold I used in the center.
I have wanted the die for a long time. I didn't buy it because I already had the tattered floral. Well, I have filled gallon size bags with tattered floral die cuts in anything from junk mail, cereal boxes, to Amazon boxes for my daughter to paint. I bought it half off on Black Friday 2014. I have used it on no less than a hundred cards. I decided that the poinsettia die was worth it!
My one HUGE dissapointment is that I thought barn door distress ink was red. Its orange. I don't have a red ink pad

+Jesse b Yeah, the Tim Holtz distress line doesn't really have a true red color. The strawberry is more pink and the barn door is more orange. Have fun with your new die, it sounds like you use the floral die a LOT which means it's worth having.

    Hi Candace...
I want to let you know that Tim Holtz has a set of embossing folders that go with the Tattered Poinsettia die. It's called Sizzix 2-Pack Texture Fades Embossing Folder Textured Poinsettia. It has the 3 different die cut shapes in one of the folders and it makes all the veins of the petals for you. It's fabulous! He has several dies that have matching embossing folders that do that; the Tattered Leaves, Eiffel Tower, Holiday Wreath, etc. I bought mine on Joann.com for less than $7.00 a while ago but it's always on sale there.

Another tip for the ole' lint roller.... Use The Lint Roller to Pick Up Glitter from the table after you are done crafting with your glitter. The glitter gets picked up really well with the lint roller. ;)
