Kashmir sapphires were the rarest and most sought after. Most of the material coming out of Sri Lanka today is heat treated gouda sapphire. Previously un-useable rough that was heat treated to change it’s color from milky white to blue.
@@JakeSteven-up7cv it’s true. Kashmir sapphires are the most rare, but nowadays it is mostly for high end market. Even good Burmese sapphire is very expensive and hard to find. Sri Lankan are more affordable now, even unheat gems.
Thank you for the wonderful video. Sapphire is my favorite gem and I have a fairly good sized collection of them. Most are in the 1 to 1.5 carat range but I do have one 6.5 carat yellow sapphire. I love the color but it is Be heated. My favorite one is a purple kashmir sapphire. I love it. I also love my bi color sapphires. I hope oneday to find a color change one. Your videos are so educational, and I love the beautiful specimens you show.

Good Kashmir sapphire is my dream. Last year I missed the opportunity to buy Kashmir sapphire, still can’t forget this gem 🤪🤓
