Self examination before going to confession is very important and seeking what’s up above. “After that one Our Father three Hail Marys and a Glory be” Thanks Fr Joseph.
Christ Himself tells us… the last shall be first. Then He goes a step further because the child was considered a non-person. Or the field hand who receives a days wage for one hour of work. We really get it wrong over and over again since we don’t know the extent of Divine Mercy even the angels have trouble with it. All the sin throughout history is just a drop in a ocean of His Mercy
As a TLM Catholic I can assure I am not better than any other Catholic. I can, however, say with certainty that the TLM itself is more reverent, edifying, beautiful and pleasing to God in every way than the new rite Mass. I am also that woman described in the sermon. It is heartbreaking when you see intact, healthy families, knowing that yours will not be one.
And, be assured, Almighty God is right there with you supporting and strengthening you and your children. And, a reminder, all is never as it seems given what we observe. We ALL have our Crosses to bear. God love you.
I respectfully disagree with the way the priest is setting this argument: first of all, people - all people- have the right to a sacred space to pray and WORSHIP THE LORD. A lot of families in all rites bring children to a sacred place and turn it into a park. They are not aware how disturbing their children are because they are used to them. However, when they bring them to church and disregard the fact that they have no more right to the sacred space of prayer than o other people you can’t avoid but to notice: so noticing does not mean at all comparing. Noticing means you can actually see what is so obvious- lack of belief of the purpose and reason to go to church : TO ADORE AND WORSHIP THE LORD . So, if you want peace and quiet to pray does not make you prideful. It makes you are responsible of your own salvation. People of no faith who live to go to church for tradition or habit become a problem for those who truly believe the lord is present and who need their rightful place to worship 🚒 Priests! Wake up and teach your people to adore and honor the … that’s your job- to lead them into adoring and loving our lord more after they visit the church.
This is so "spot on" it caused me to snicker a bit. Thank you Father, I needed this; an ongoing battle.
Oh Fr Joseph, I love this-“Whenever we compare ourselves to others, that other person becomes our standard” Thank you for shedding light on this topic
