[押井総監督]コメント
ガール・ミーツ・ガールを真面目にやりたくて。人と人の繋がりの話。だから「血」なんです。「血縁」とか、「血で繋がった友達」という言葉もありますが、僕は真面目に「血」の話をやりたかった。
だから「吸血鬼」。「血を吸う」とは象徴的な行為かもしれないけど、いろんな意味で象徴的に「血」の話にしようと考えたんです。そして吸血鬼を扱うということは、同時に異文化の話でもあって。異文化であり、いわゆる人外（じんがい）。人間なんだけど人間じゃないもの。ある種の宿命として誰かの供犠（くぎ）であり、誰かの犠牲の上でしか生きられない存在。そうした異質なものとの出会い、それが繋がっていく話。血の話となると、暗くて陰惨になりがちなんだけど、そうじゃなく割と軽やかにやってみたかったんですよ。

@@Tentacult-uj3lp Considering it's Oshii's return to anime after so long, the response from the community is surprisingly small. Even big-name TH-camrs like Gigguk and The Anime man neglected to mention it in their seasonal anime videos. I'm sure it'll pick up steam at some point though. And hopefully, it won't have any further delays again 😅

Not sure the whole will release at once or one episode per week, but it won’t delay again.

if it lessens your worries, pretty sure the yuri community is loving this anime tbh, I've seen a lot of yuri anime bloggers talk about it and even yuri communities on Discord.

Holy shit the animation for this opening is gorgeous! The first opening was amazing too, but the the water animation here, and shot framing, is just astounding!
Though, this opening makes me wonder if there is going to be a serious aspect of this show, because so far all we’ve seen is slapstick comedy yuri, not character drama yuri. Well, even if it’s just a parody of other series intros, I really loved watching this!

VladLove is an "adaptation" of an old story/VN written by Mamoru Oshii. It's mostly comedy, but Mai has a tragic backstory that serves as the center/climax of the story. The other OP actually hints to it a bit if you pay attention to it.
I think Oshii wanted to take a break from his more serious animes and make something more similar to his Urusei Yatsura days

It looks gorgeous! it might be a hard contrast between the beauty and seriousness of the OP compared to the show's crazyness but I love both
I love this opening to death but sad to say that I was disappointed after watching the last 6 episodes, if anything it felt like the yuri they were aiming for led to nowhere.
