I have been a fan of the center rod box for years. My 522VX had one and my Z521C has one. I have 10 rods rigged and I can step back two steps open the lid, pull the rod and cast. Keeping your deck rods port and starboard undisturbed. Nice looking basscat Ken, enjoy yourself.
Gotta be honest, I have center rod storage on my boat, side tackle. Love the center rod storage, not a fan of side tackle. Simple reason, my deck lids open out, my rods sit on my lids… appears to be designed to throw my rods in the lake if I’m not careful. Falcon solved this problem with deck lids that opened forward, wish they all did this. My dad actually owns the Puma STS that you tested btw, great boat. Cool series!
Beautiful. This is why we work hard, save our money, and try to invest wisely so we can someday afford these things that make life so wonderful. Beautiful. Congratulations.
This may be long-winded... Another great video by Ken Smith fishing! So... After 10 months of a grueling back and forth, I have ordered my Bass Cat Puma STS. You have a gorgeous boat and the walk-thru is very useful to a new owner. I go back to sections of the video to get a better understanding. So it's like my pocket reference! Ross Motorsports was my 2nd dealer choice. However, I picked one in Missouri. Coming from Southern Wisconsin, it's not as bad a drive. Options are easy to pick. Just get them all! Actually, that's pretty close to the truth. However, color is another quagmire altogether. I went back and re-watched your videos starting from about March. This one video is very interesting. For whatever reason, I did not notice your color choices until today. You and I have the same taste friend. I believe your hull color is Malibu Red with apple red trim and white insert bolts (Radiance upgrade). Right? One of my choice combinations for my STS will be similar to yours. But instead of white, I went with apple red. Even the trim is apple red. I think using silver trim with a red insert on a black hull is not as bold-looking. Thanks bud!
Ken, I couldn’t tell by your boat reviews which way you were leaning, but the series was awesome. I kinda did the same thing but with used boats , actually I did speak with Andrew at Ross and he really enjoys helping customers, the lynx is a awesome boat and I’m sure your in a great rig . Good luck and I’m curious to see how it all works out.
Great looking boat and the engineering and quality just jumps out the more I look at these boats. You work a commission/referral deal for all the new biz your videos will give them! Don’t answer none of my biz.
Ken, if I could make one small suggestion. I would install some grip tape on the rear panel hinges that are on the top side of the boat. I was fishing in my friends Bass Cat and those rear hinges had a little dew on them early in the morning and when I went to set the hook my foot accidentally came down on top of one the hinges and I fell straight on my butt lol. Beautiful Boat by the way !!!!
Would be interested to know if you lived on a lake with a lot of boat docks would you still go with that model of bass cat? My next boat is most definitely going to be a bass cat thanks for the reviews. Respect your opinion thanks!
I don't know that it would make a difference, if it were a smaller lake i might go down under 20 feet, but it's nice to have that length when it gets rough out
I'll have to admit Ross motorsports does an awesome job with upgrades, andrew typically puts ultrex and stacked garmin's front and back, which is what I want on a candy apple red Pantera classic with a red bolt and white sides and black bottom. Probably upgrade the center console and ask for slam latches on the storage boxes
Can you run both fuel tanks at the same time? It seems like if you have to draw from one side at a time that it would throw the balance of the boat off.
What you are seeing is the give from the gasket under, if you notice you don’t see that on board with slam lids because they don’t have gaskets for water control. I covered this in the original bass boat search.
In the Mercury book it states the 1st service should be done at 100 hours. Doesn’t mention 20 hours. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard about this 20hour service either. Wonder why they’re recommending it if the Mercury maintenance guide doesn’t say anything about it?
Ken why is there a razor blade in the livewell? Cat or Ross accidentally leave that in? Edit...just realized you took a page from Phil. Even bought his type of colors. Only colors I’ve ever seen Phil own for last 7-8 years are black red white
Not sure, somebody had a little fun in my boat, I'll talk more about this later but one of my "friends" got access to my boat somewhere along the way and left me a bunch of little presents. I hesitate to talk about it as I don't want to give anybody credit for getting one over on me...still trying to figure out when and who....
Aer bass boats built to handle ruff water and hold up for the long haul.....and what it the effects of running ruff water could the boat actually start to come apart..... thanks any info is appreciated.... looking to buy first glass bass boat.......great videos ..
Short answer is yes, they are built for what we do to them. Long answer is you can't be silly in them, when the tour went to Erie last year several guys got overly aggressive in driving them in rough water, i know a Texas pro destroyed his boat (not a Bass Cat), Randy Howell broke his seat in half, sever guys lost electronics, you drive them too hard and you can mess them up.
Junk junk bass cat has really went down hill my good ordered a brand new bass cat puma the boat will not run like it should and bass cat is giving him the run around and not really tried to fix it you would think 80,000$ for a boat they would be more than happy to stand behind it I'm from Arkansas I thought bass cat was better than this .
Bass Cat Lynx is sick boat, one of my favs.
That is a beautiful boat! You should generate a lot of good memories on the water with it. Thanks for the walk through.
glad you enjoyed it!
I’m ready for tomorrows video to see what they have in stock. Your video series has made up my mind to get a Bass Cat for my next boat.
Jared it's up now.
Hooked on ur video series. Sold on Bass Cat, thinking it will be my next boat. Thanks for the hard work you put into these videos.
Definitely looking at BC now
Thanks Michael
Thank you. I have had a Lynx for two years and I learned a couple of things from watching this video.
Glad I could help!
Very impressed on this short series and bass cats attention to detail And attention to their customers wants and needs.

I kept 4-5 in the center box of my Ranger, so not a big adjustment

Awesome rig right there!!! So many user friendly amenities to make the day on the water a good one. Welcome to BassCat!!!
Thanks Steve, I totally forgot about the extra lights until I watched this in edit

Congradulations brother. Great looking boat. Loved the video.
That is a beautiful boat. I look forward to the electronics rigging because of that front end, I want to see what you do up there.
Ron Bass Boat Technologies just came out with a new staggered bracket and I got a hold of one of the first ones, very cool, I'll show soon

I hope so too
Man what a nice boat, and thanks for the video
You bet
I tell you what, when I'm ready to drop coin on a brand new rig I'm going to seriously consider BC!
That boat is so damn beautiful
The wrap guy said "you sure you want to wrap that?"
@@KenSmithFishing it would be hard for me to wrap a boat that beautiful
Great looking boat!
Thanks!

Apparently I'm not that good a negotiator....😬
Maybe you didn’t want the plastic off of the Mercury smart gauge lol. Absolutely beautiful boat Ken!
Great video and awesome boat! Congrats
thanks guy I know

The hinges for the two back box lids to the sump area?
@@KenSmithFishing Yes, those are very slippery if they get dew on them.

Why didn’t you do the RMP power pole mounted anchor light?
Ken, did they set you up on direct deposit for the monthly check they send you for buying their boat?
You got that backwards, the Credit Union was happy to take my monthly $$!!!😅
@@KenSmithFishing Im jusr ribbing you bud.
Nice boat , but I seeing are those soft lids on your port side of your front deck,I have one soft lid on my old nitro

Not sure but I know the dealer I bought my last 4 stroke had me do the same
I miss that NEW Fiberglass Smell!
So is it the fiberglass or the carpet? I was thinking the same thing but can't figure out which it is?
I wonder why the bass boat manufacturers haven't went to sea deck or a foam floor instead of carpet. I've never been a fan of carpet on a boat.
Best thing I ever dig was switching to Seafoam. I live in Florida. Mildew is horrible here
from talking with several through the search there continue to be concerns with how well it will wear
Looks like a "Gimmick" boat to me.
not sure what that means....
wau Aku suka vidionya senior perahunya lengap dengan semua peralatan pancing dan siap melaut

You will have almost no Dead Fish Penalties with this aeration system. Only from bad hookups.
