Love you guys!
Maybe I didn't catch what you were saying, did you say to go from the + and - of the alternator to the battery, then from + and - of battery to super capacitor? If so, you would have 2 terminal rings(or whatever you choose to use)
At negative and 2 terminal rings at positive of the battery
yes, correct
Thanks for the info I’ll keep rocking with you this helps a lot
Great information!
Super caps are cool, I need to pick up a bank of super caps.
Yes you do! youll be amazed at the difference
Very informative!
You've got a new subscriber 👍
Welcome aboard!

Solid Knowledge³

What about if I already have one of the UltraCap Super capacitors , would you recommend adding a second one since they are so relatively cheap right now ? I have been using a Crescendo 3500D with the UltraCap but today I swapped it out with a new Taramps Smart Bass 5K. I’m running 2/0 cables from the capacitor to my amplifier and two new agm batteries. I’m already planning to upgrade my alternator with a second one as soon as I can afford it.
yea grabbing a second cap cant hurt, get while its good
@@CarAudioEnthusiasts that’s kinda what I was thinking. Worst case scenario is that I could always just use the second one in my car if I didn’t notice a difference in the system of my suburban.
I got 2 for like 150 each
exactly!
You convinced me brother... concise, informative, logical. I would definitely run my + and - lines all the way to the source, for sure!
Good.call,
Can u use a super cap Infront if u have a litinum behind?
you can , but its best to have the cap closest to the amp
The video couldn’t have came at a better time. I’ve always heard mixed opinions on caps, but I’ve never ran them. So I went to Amazon immediately after this video and good Lawd almighty there is a lot of choices ! Can you do a future in-depth video on what specs to be looking for when looking at these capacitors? Thank for all the great info, love your content 👌
300farrad and up.
@@CarAudioEnthusiasts I went through your history of other videos and got the info I needed. I ordered a B stock Ioxus Ultracap. Can’t wait till it gets here. 👌
I've been thinking lately about how to do a budget dual alternator on GM trucks, and it's surprisingly inexpensive.
Dual alt bracket (LS Truck engine) on Amazon or eBay is like $130.
Used factory alternator(160 amp) is about 50 bucks on marketplace or at a U-Pull-It.
About 30 to $40 worth of wire and accessories to hook it all up. $200 total for about 200 amps of available extra power.
Add on the ioxus super cap into the second battery location for $150, and you have one hell of a base for car audio, off-road winch plus lights, or a snow plow set up.
ive had really good luck with this one www.amazon.com/LActrical-Alternator-Hairpin-Chevrolet-secondary/dp/B08WYZ334G/
@@CarAudioEnthusiasts that seems incredible at less than half the cost of a mechman.
Is that what's in your Tahoe? How long have you been using them if so?

If budget wasn’t a factor would you still recommend a super cap over the lto 6.0 or glowe voltage series 2?
id recomend it WITH the battery
@@CarAudioEnthusiastsI don’t understand. Sorry. I’m about to start a build in my wife’s jeep compass. On stock electrical at 1700 watts. I figured I’d get an lto 6.0 or a gvs2 and be set. But I should get the super cap instead???
@@guestguest yes, it would be the best in this case.
What would be a good budget super cap?
ioxus b stock ultracap
Yep@@CarAudioEnthusiasts
I have 2
Caps are just a band aid. They have to charge just as fast as the discharge...
not true, Caps are momentary storage, they charge and discharge very fast, and can help stabilize your voltage, preventing Dips and Sags. which is exactly how they are used in all electronics, including amplifiers. they're one of the best upgrades you can make on your electrical.
