We must have seen you there. We just got back home yesterday. We had a really nice time and thought the place was great. The food was so-so, but i expected that. I’m happy it wasn’t a giant glutton fest like some other places. We mostly camped out by where they played bingo…that smaller pool was the perfect temperature!
We were there a few weeks ago. I actually liked the food more than any other resort I’ve been to but we don’t eat out to much so I’m thrilled when someone else cooks. It was a lovely place to vacation.
I looked up pictures of the Hard Rock. I’ve never been there myself but it looks really nice. I prefer adults only as well as a more beachy tropical type setting. But to each their own. I hope you have a fantastic time wherever you choose. 😃
Although there isn’t one directly across the swim up suite all the staff and they are everywhere are always extremely willing and ready to get you anything you want and need. Just to the right of our suite is the main pool and they serve drinks there and then right in front of our suites just across the walkway is another area they serve drinks.
I am going in May to this resort. I have been told gratuity is included in the price of the hotel. Others who have been said there was still an expectation to tip often, so I should bring at least $350 cash...your thoughts?
350 for just tips or 350 for spending money? If your tipping 350 for a week trip, i would have to say that’s overboard. My wife and i have been to Excellence El Carmen, to a Sandals and Secrets resorts and typically take $400 in cash for spending and tips. I can’t say we have ever really felt like someone was upset or disappointed in the tip that was given or we were in risk of running out of money. Keep in mind we don’t drink a lot and wouldn’t consider myself high maintenance. Also, items from the gift shop and spa treatments can be charged to your room, so you won’t necessarily need to bring money for that. My wife highly recommends the spa. Like Jen joy said its a really nice resort. We enjoyed it so much the first time, we’re going back June 3rd for a second trip.
I went to Excellence El Carmen spring 2022. We loved this resort. A little posh like. 🤗 Personally I loved all the food I had a chance to taste with exception of Las Olas, it was just ok if that. I can't wait to return but looking to try something else, different vibe first. Glad you guys enjoyed your time there. I too had a swim-out suite. During my stay, honestly all the pools were cold. Which interfered with my use of the swim out (I don't do cold water). I love that this resort has such a huge variety of room types. You don't see that too often in those resorts.
@jgates594 I loved the resort. The food was just ok. The drinks..eh. the ppl were really nice and the atmosphere was breathtaking. I would definitely return again. I didn't like constantly getting approached on the beach with ppl selling their goods; however once I figured out the times they were out there it made my beach time more enjoyable
@@seekingpeace365 the food was ok? I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say that about the food at Excellence. I would agree the buffet wasn’t anything to write home to mom about, and have heard people say they didn’t like one or two of the restaurant, but there are like 10 restaurants to choose from. I’m always interested in people’s experiences and their recommendations. What resort chain would you recommend for good or even great food?
I totally enjoyed myself there last month! I also loved Excellence Punta Cana.
I definitely want to go to more of the Excellence resorts. This one was fantastic. I did not want to leave.
Wow, it must be fantastic traveling with you guys!
I’d like to think so. 😂

Looks like a great place
The best we’ve been to.
Thanks for the video. What room # did you stay in may I ask and what month were you there? Thanks
We stayed in building 7C. I don’t remember the exact room number. 😁
Very nice place
We all really enjoyed our time there.
Going in December...did I hear you say the main pool IS heated?
Yes you did. The main pool was very warm. Like a giant bathtub. The swim up sweets were not and we’re in my opinion to cold to enjoy.
Very nice! I'm deciding between Excellence El Carmen and Hard Rock Punta Cana for our honeymoon. What's your opinion?

I wish I had booked EEC excellence punta cana was a nightmare, a waste of money.
Do they serve drinks on the other side of the swim up suites?

I'm torn between Secrets in Punta Cana, Melia and this resort. Since you visited Secrets here, which one do you rank higher?
I’m sorry but I have not visited the Secrets in Punta Cana. I would love to someday.

Yes we did still tip. And I would say that sounds like a good idea. You’re gonna really enjoy it. It’s a beautiful place.

I was there in March and won’t be going back, not to this location.
I too like to go to different places. I like to have new experiences and have different views.
what do you mean other resort was 45 minute walk? do you mean finest?
Yes I believe that’s correct. We were told we could go there and walk around
