Something I have learned about my A52S... instead of putting your material on the slick metal of the flair of the box, pour your material on the silver punch plate just past the brass colored grizzly bars so you don't block or pulse the slower water flow from entering the lower portion of the sluice. Since the material does not have to climb the hill it will classify off better also. That also solves the problem of the grizzly getting lots of small gravel stuck in it. Welcome to the no classifying no more A52S fan club, I know I LOVE mine!

Another trick I learned is if your working with muddy clay material is to take it a handful at a time and hold on to it and rub it back and forth across the silver punch plate with you hand to break it up.. works great. Since the lower flow is not affected by that upper flow disruption the mats on the bottom still capture things nicely.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll keep that in mind next time I go out that makes sense i was noticing it would clear much faster especially the bigger rocks when it didnt have to climb the hill...I'm thinking of converting the sluice into a dredge in the next month or so.

One more thing, if you dump on the punch plate and things are not clearing out well, because it is say flat slate kind of material or bigger cobbles that want to just stop... rub your hand back and forth on the punch plate and materials to get the material moving again. Just like the clay tip, the lower slower flow is not affected... Just keep the grizzly bars and flare of the box clear and disrupting the fast upper flow across the punch plates will not hinder the box catching smaller gold.

@MichaelCuevas-bg2bt I actually sold it because I wasn't using it. I know people that use them and recover a good bit of gold if heard dream mats on them work great

@@MojaveMineralMiners yes dream mats are the best, I tested mine with a bag of paydirt w/ 1 gram of gold inside it and the first 2 rows/riffles caught almost everything instantly .. I want to make my A52s into the mini max conversion, as well as buy the Gold monster 1000. Thanks for your help and input. I went to Big Tujunga and Big Rock creek in SoCal with nothing found but not giving up on it. I just picked up a very strong 💪🏽 liking to gold prospecting in middle of this year and I’m excited and glad to have. I got the fever 😂 .. any rivers/creeks you know of besides the East fork San Gabriel and Kern River which I plan visiting soon… I live in Santa Clarita home of the Placerita Area when gold was first discovered in California before becoming a state. I’m in love with the history, my backyard in literally Placerita Creek and Nature center… I feel it’s calling me. Legendary place, I simply went to Santa Clara River/now Wash and filled two half buckets 🪣 with sand and mostly gravel to pan at home and in each pan was small gold, not pickers nor anything like that but definitely Gold. (Btw, some of USA 🇺🇸 first ever minted gold coins came out of these rivers, first and foremost Placerita and was sent back by Wells Fargo stagecoach back east side to be minted.
