Fluorite, Onyx, Druzy Agate, and more in Southern California!!!
Welcome back fellow miners! Happy New Year and thank you for joining us on todays video!
On this adventure we are taking you to the North Cady Mountains in Southern California. You won't believe the crazy cool finds we dug out in the desert.
We start off this video on one mountain were we discovered the orange seam agate. While surface collecting we found amazing druzy tube agates! Later in the video, we take you to a different area in the North Cadys were we found a giant boulder filled with purple and green Fluorite. You'll see that same area covered in Onyx/Travertine. Stay until the very end to see us cut our amazing finds!
Thank you for joining us on another adventure through the Mojave Desert! We appreciate you liking and subscribing to never miss a future video!

Great finds! I know asking for GPS info on spots is basically taboo. I am passing through the area in about a month on the way to major neck surgery in LA and have 1 day to rockhound before a fairly long, no hounding recovery. If there is any general area guidance such as roads or similar than are shareable, would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you! I would recommend purchasing the 'Gem Trails of Southern California' book off of Amazon. There are lots of great places to start at in that book, and has some information on the general area we were at. Best of luck and fast healing for your upcoming surgery!

@twostoneslapidary I advise you to not attempt to recreate anything you see in the video unless experienced wih concentrated acids. Please take proper safety precautions. Use face protection and skin protection the heat from the sugar or acid alone can burn you let alone the corrosiveness of the acid. If you can do it outdoors you should. Be very careful when pouring the acid out.

I have been treating Andamooka matrix for over 40 years, you should never pore acid into water dispose of the acid properly then wash the matrix with water then neutralise the stones with bicarb and water, dont leave the stones in bicarb and water for too long as they will go cloudy just rince the stones a few times, you can put a pirex dish in the crockpot with the stones and acid so you can use less acid, be careful use a mask as the fumes are very nasty I have a friend that cooked matrix in his shack he is now on boot hill, take extra care with this process, regards Greg.

Thats really nice stuff, but you should really point out its andamooka matrix in the title., because matrix in lightning ridge and matrix in queensland are completly different things to andamooka matrix and can be confusing to people that dont understand. It doesnt deminish from it by being specific, in fact its very sought after.

@@MojaveMineralMiners yes dream mats are the best, I tested mine with a bag of paydirt w/ 1 gram of gold inside it and the first 2 rows/riffles caught almost everything instantly .. I want to make my A52s into the mini max conversion, as well as buy the Gold monster 1000. Thanks for your help and input. I went to Big Tujunga and Big Rock creek in SoCal with nothing found but not giving up on it. I just picked up a very strong 💪🏽 liking to gold prospecting in middle of this year and I’m excited and glad to have. I got the fever 😂 .. any rivers/creeks you know of besides the East fork San Gabriel and Kern River which I plan visiting soon… I live in Santa Clarita home of the Placerita Area when gold was first discovered in California before becoming a state. I’m in love with the history, my backyard in literally Placerita Creek and Nature center… I feel it’s calling me. Legendary place, I simply went to Santa Clara River/now Wash and filled two half buckets 🪣 with sand and mostly gravel to pan at home and in each pan was small gold, not pickers nor anything like that but definitely Gold. (Btw, some of USA 🇺🇸 first ever minted gold coins came out of these rivers, first and foremost Placerita and was sent back by Wells Fargo stagecoach back east side to be minted.

I'm not your bro thanks for watching no offense taken but kick rocks dude NO ONE wants to hear your negativity. The conversation was had with my good friend who happens to run one of the best rock shows in the state beginning conversation was about the show which was upcoming at the time. I found some points of our commentary somewhat comical that's why it was included. Not everyone watches to see rocks exclusively sometimes entertainment is for people who can't get out and do it themselves so it's partially about the experience. It's degraded basalt not dirt. If the video was cut to just when the rocks were exposed it would be like 30 seconds. We dig for hours it's a 20 minute video. Our videos are also educational which includes what it takes to get to the minerals. Plenty of people ask how we do it and enjoy watching I have handfuls of people who come see us at every show that watch it all and enjoy it. Over 20% of viewers for this video watched the entirety of the video so obviously it was worth watching. When you do the math that's over 200 people and you're the only one who complained.
