  • Fun trip to Isla De Cedros, Baja California, Mexico for some great fishing. Absolutely unbelievable amount of bait in the water, but it didn't stop us from catching Yellowtail, Calicos, Black Sea Bass and Halibut.

We did about the same first week of August. Yellows in the mornings, then either calicos or halibut in the afternoons. First trip was great, plan to go back every 2 years or so.
Jose and Cedros Outdoor Adventures was a great lodge package deal.

Looks like a wonderful trip! That amount of bait is just amazing. No fish goes hungry down there.

The Disneyland of Yellowtail! Such an amazing place and fishing destination. The marine life and bio-diversity is just so healthy at the island.

Awesome trip boss. Is it true that the YT fight harder there then in So Cal waters? I hope to go there one day......one day....one day.

Ya man they were the meanest 20lbers I’ve ever caught. Torium 16 buttoned down all the way and I would pinch the line pulling on em to get em in quicker lol. Nothing is line shy either… don’t fish less than 50lb even for Calicos.

@@alanmckenzie3228 it was pretty fun, I’d like to go back a mess around with some other stuff. They catch WSB in the kelps with flat falls, late season there wahoo between Cedros and the Benito’s…. July is just straight yo-yo for the most part.

How do you travel with your rods? Keep them in tact, or pack reels separately?

For Cedros you can’t bring a case, there’s just is not room on the plane. They all lay down in the middle row. 3 rods with the usual wraps, then foam pipe insulations around the sections with the guides. The same stuff for water heaters at Home Depot.

Take the scrambled egg color jig. Drop it to the bottom, it'll flutter, when it touches reel as fast as you can, it's not to fast. Use a two speed reel, reel in fast retrieve. You'll be happy

@@ChasingPelagics Ok then , one more question , if you are coming back with fillets do you bring a cooler or a cold bag

@@12babyapes59 they sell cooler bags, or you can bring your own. You will be limited on weight so pack light, I brought home around 30lbs of fish.
