    In this video, I break down and talk about all of the terminal tackle I bring with me to Cedros Island for yellowtail fishing.
    Covering anything from Swimbait fishing, to soft and hard plastics, to all different kinds of surface irons, to various line sizes and more!
    tried my best to keep this video as short as possible, but took a little longer than was expected.
    Hope you all enjoy, and I hope this helps out some future cedars visitors!
    Tight lines everyone!

      Really appreciate that brotha thank you! Afran’s videos are definitely some of my favorites. I’ve learned a lot of spotty and calico fishing from watching his videos over the years! Really talks you through the bites he gets, love his channel

      Such incredible fishing! Can’t believe the things I saw this trip! Were you the one that said what’s up at the dock? If so, sorry I couldn’t stick in chat there were yellows to be caught lol

      That’s a pretty good idea! I’ll try to make a follow up video after the series is all finished!
      Probably looking at about 7ish full length videos from all the footage from this trip!

    I have a surface iron that will go through the wind like nothing on 40 and 50lb mono. Ray's murder weapons are nice. The side winder is my favorite. Hit me up if you wanna try a sample of my surface irons. You won't regret it 😎

      I really like the MW viper after fishing it at cedros! Swims effortlessly
      And hell yeah brotha, always open to trying new surface irons! Are they CNC or casted?
      And how would I get a hold of some, you have Instagram?

    Have you ever used/tried the largest Slug-go soft plastics for Yellowtail?
    Here in NZ they work so so well. Largest Yellowtail Kingfish (Kingie) Ive seen on a Slug-go went 75lbs.
    White and Pink are top performing colurs.

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t tried that, but I have seen a lot of videos out there with people using slugs and other types of soft plastics.
      California we mainly use surface irons, heavy irons, and big jerkbaits.
      Over the last 2 years, SoCal has just barely started playing with vertical jigs and stick baits lol. We’re quite a bit behind on the fishery haha

    Swim baits for calicos definitely work - yo-yos worked best for the YT on my trip - but the best bait was the Shimano stickbait…. Hands down!

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah once that red crab came through on the island, yo-yos was definitely the ticket for sure!
      My buddy was doing pretty well on the nomad stick baits throughout the week

    • @michaelniemiec5235
      @michaelniemiec5235 ปีที่แล้ว

      The red crab was so cool …. Never seen anything like it… the primary good sources around the island are remarkable and I am pleased that the island does not let in the fleet from San Diego to fish those waters!

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@michaelniemiec5235 hell yeah, it’s amazing how much better the fishery can be when an entire fleet of sport boats can’t get to it!

    How many swimbaits have you made? The first video you had with them the action was crazy. If that was your first ever one that's seriously impressive

      Lol yeah that was my first ever 3 piece I’ve made so far! Thank you I really appreciate that.
      Been into lure making for a long time, but just barely this past year I started playing with swimbaits. I’ve made 2 trout swimbaits so far, and that 1 mackerel

    Did you fish the mono more than you did flouro?
    Traveling with multiple rods, do you pack your reels separately?

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I do fish more mono that I do fluoro.
      I replace all of my mono wind on top shots, and fluoro leaders at the end of each day.
      We wrap all our rods up together, however your feel most comfortable to wrap them up for safety while traveling.
      And your reels get packed in with your luggage/tackle bag

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We go with Cedros Sportfishing, and We all bring 9 and 10 foot rods. Not sure if there’s any restrictions with other outfits, but not for Cedros Sportfishing

      Turners tackle backpack.
      The one I’m thinking about getting soon is the Shimano Blackmon Front Load backpack.
      Front Load specifically, the top load looks like it can be annoying to pack things away and pull tackle out
