    You can do the same thing with mod podge on a piece of glass and a napkin! Comes out like a decal!

    I can't believe I watch your videos over and over, I learn something new every time, and always get inspiration. Thanks for helping me do what I do. I can't describe what I do, but I just cut and glue paper and whatever else I can think of. I rarely finish anything, I just have stacks of "projects" that I'm working on. So thanks for your help! Lol

    The waxed paper and freezer paper both worked. I didn't let them dry long enough...still had damp spots....but other than user error, it worked. Thanks, Shannon!

    • @ShannonGreen
      @ShannonGreen  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nancy Wiltshire Thanks Nancy but that's really strange. I tried it with freezer paper and it was a fail. I was able to peel part of the napkin off but it wasn't easy and in a couple of spots it was stuck so good that it separated the freezer paper! The waxed paper gave me trouble too but not as much as the freezer paper. I was able to peel the napkin off but again it wasn't easy and I ended up sort of stretching the napkin from pulling on it so hard.
      It could be that some brands work better than others. I tried a different deli paper and it was a total fail...stuck permanently. But parchment paper was fantastic! It peeled off with no effort, no pulling, no sticking.
      OH and it looks like Nori paste will work too. I'm going to leave the rest of my experiments to sit overnight and see what happens in the morning.
      THanks again for being my mad scientist partner!

    • @ShannonGreen
      @ShannonGreen  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shannon Green Okay, strange. Last night I was ready to call the waxed paper and freezer paper a fail for me but I left some of the napkins on them overnight and this morning they peeled off just fine. I think thorough drying must be more important than I realized.
      Thanks again for helping with the "technique testing", I gave you a little shout out in the follow up video I filmed this morning. I'll get it uploaded soon :)

      Jesse b I have to admit I felt a little bit like rocket scientist when I put it in a smaller container! LOL There is a problem with this technique, or in the application of it. I have an upcoming video explaining that.

    When you used these, did you just spray a mist of water on them and apply? Yes paste is water soluble, i love that about it, i use it for covers and things i may want to reposition. One time i took a piece of 3 times, lol. The first it was fully dried too. never mind i saw the other vid... part 3? fun to watch ! I have used acrylic gloss medium to coat and glue napkins to cardstock to make inchies, then glittered them etc. I also use the gloss on parchment paper by itself adding glitter and fibers and stuff... with coats between and on top, then use it as decals, etc. You can stamp it too. I think you could use the medium over the napkins on parchment paper and then you can use mod podge on them like you like. Probably not use the gloss medium its just the only clear i had when i started playing. You probably have a vid where you figured this all out too, i just havent seen it yet. lol. I like this a lot and am going to to try it if ever i buy some clear non glossy, i just like glossy! lol

    Don't know if you've ever noticed this, but I was working on a collage and wanted to use an image from a paper napkin. It was a three-ply napkin and as I peeled away the plys, I saw that the middle layer had what I would call a ghost image of the outer layer which was actually exactly what I wanted for my collage. Aren't paper napkins awesome? Who knew?

    Does anyone know if you can dry Yes Paste with a heat gun?

    • @ShannonGreen
      @ShannonGreen  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kinda sorta. A little heat will help it set up but too much heat sort of melts it!

    I have never heard of a Japanese dollar store? Is this in the USA?

    • @ShannonGreen

      The one in Houston is called the Fit Store. There is a chain, mostly on the west coast, called Daiso.

    Shannon, that's what I meant by user error! I think if I had waited overnight, the freezer paper would have worked better.

    • @ShannonGreen
      @ShannonGreen  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nancy Wiltshire Neither the freezer paper or the waxed paper worked as well as the deli paper but they did work...eventually!

      Enrica Mcintosh I don't think so. Any time I've used PVA with deli paper it sticks in a permanent way!

    Hi Mrs Green, How are you? I`m Gloria and I like your work. I don´t understand English so much. I am Venezuelan. I would like to know what kind of paper you use to put under the napkin... Please... Greeeeetings... bye

    • @ShannonGreen
      @ShannonGreen  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gloria! The best paper to use under the napkins to keep them from sticking is parchment paper or freezer paper. I'm not sure if these are available in different countries. If you can't find them, try waxed paper, bakery paper, or silicone paper. Even a non-stick craft sheet would work.

    I watched this a few times - I love it! Tell me Shannon which "side" of the tempura paper did you use? You had the "tooth" side to the camera, and then "flipped" it to the other side...so did you use the smooth or toothed side? As ever, thanks for sharing!

    The napkins don’t appear to be wrinkled at all using the Yes paste! I wonder how this method would work for decoupage? I’ll have to experiment 😊 Thank you
    Never mind, I just watched Video Part 3 😄😄
