This was great info delivered in 5min! Thanks for this I’ve been playing Soulcalibur 6 for the longest time now so fighting with fists is taking some getting used to.
Thankyou! Definitely takes a while to get used to how up close the fighting is in this game. I think for that reason, once you go back to other games you can handle the pressure so much better though 😅
No worries! There's loads of fancy defensive options in Virtua Fighter. Highly recommended the Neko Dojo guide on VFDC for more. I'll add it to this description now!
@@WireManFGC yes thank you! People will eventually get around to taking care of 2P spam or how to counter throws but abusable strings and moves is what we're really going to need. The movelist may not be big as tekken but we really don't know what to lab against these characters or what their real gimmicky stuff is.
Saw you post this on Reddit. Great tips! Haven't played 3d fighters in years and haven't touched VF since it was out on the Saturn. Thanks for these universal tips! Subbed for more!
Holy shit, why isn't every fighting game guide so like, to the point? New to defence on this game, feel like this is going to help heaps as that's the part of the game I'm really struggling with. Cheers!
Thanks! They used to have a fair amount of this in the VF4 tutorials. The VF5 ones are much leaner, sadly. There's an additional COMBINED fuzzy guard and dash cancel to this that some people find easier, which is the crouch cancel (tapping down+forward twice then guarding). It's used for slightly different scenarios, but can be more consistent if you're struggling with manually timing your ducks and dash cancels online.
@@WireManFGC Never got a chance to play VF4, myself. Maybe more tutorials will be added as DLC in future updates. Also seem to mess up diagonal inputs online but will try to put in more practice with it !
@@breaktube you can do it! I've recently switched to a Korean stick and have been missing diagonals too, so know the pain! I streamed the vf4evolution tutorial in full about a month ago. Will be editing and uploading it here after the current A-Z series 🙂
@@WireManFGC Oh wow, you are the best ! Don't have an arcade joy stick myself, just been using the D-Pad on an amazon PS4 controller for now. Does this game play better with an arcade joy stick setup ?
@@breaktube it's really preference. There's nothing in Virtua Fighter that can't be done on both. I've even seen Akira's very strict knee combos on pad, so there's no limit.
They both have applications, the 2G is something I tend to do when I lose my turn and the 33G if I'm on offense, defending in the middle of a string, or following a sidestep, since the 33 also cancels the sidestep recovery. Another nice thing with 33 is that it forces crouching, so is useful if you want to follow up with 2_6P or things like that. What's interesting, is that if you do 33G and 3G (instead of 2G), you can get the best of both. For example, if you do a 3G after doing a move that's -5 or so on block, you can press 3G to do the fuzzy and then follow up with the other 3 and get your crouch dash if they do nothing, or you can stand up and then do 2P if the 3G fuzzy works out. It's wonderful how deep the defensive options of this game can go :)
Thank you! I'm hyped for VF 5 REVO on Steam and found your video. Very helpful. 😊
Same bro.Im hyped and also wanna take a break from playing Tekken 8
Guard canceling a dash is also important if you want to do something like a dash up P without doing a 66P by accident.
That's a great point! As that clip shows at the start of the lazy tech section...I'm a gorilla and I always want to do a 66P 😅

@@WireManFGC Thanks.
fantastic work!!
Can you do a top 5 moves to lab against the virtua fighter cast? It be nice to know what moves to look out for.
Thanks for the recommendation! That's a great topic, I'll have to think what those could be...crouch jab (2p) is definitely on that list though 😅
@@WireManFGC haha the dreaded 2P.
I ment more like 5 abusable moves or strings specific to every individual character.
@@mikeg4490 ah gotcha! I play Akira, so abusable moves is definitely my wheelhouse 😆

That Kage 😂 He just wouldn't learn
Went from mashing, to crouching at mids, to mashing again 😅
Magnificent video!

Beautiful video.
Thankyou so much!

Such a simple game. P,K,G endless combinations!
I hope VF6 will make it’s way to the home entertainment systems.

What the difference between 33G or 2G fuzzy guard?

@@アンディカ-y5b a simpler answer:

use 33G from -4 to -5
