Hey Keith, I came over from the link you left me on the battery box build. I had forgotten to sub too so I just subbed. Man, I love your set up. There is so much to be said about doing it simple and economical. I see so many videos where people are using outrageously priced gear that most ordinary folk cannot afford. I envy you having access to such nice property. We have a National Forest here but with very few dispersed camping spots and I much prefer being away from campgrounds. I have been seriously entertaining a diesel heater for my small trailer. I have a Mini Jayco rigged out with solar, 10 ply tires and such but propane is always an issue and the central heat really pulls down a battery. I am in the process of upgrading that with two 100Ah LiFePo batteries so power should no longer be an issue. I bring a generator but it would be nice not having to run it. Your rig is sweet. Load up a few things and head to the woods. Thanks for sharing. I will have to do some benge watching on your channel.
Hey Wayne thanks so much! Yea most of my set up is definitely budget friendly. I agree that the campgrounds get too crowded and noisy. Sounds like you have a nice set up. The diesel heater is a great option to have. Thanks for the sub and Happy Camping!
Nice Keith! Did something kind of similar for my van. Used a cement mixing tub for the pan, made a pvc pipe retangular rod with curtain. Have tool holder clamps on ceiling to a fix the rod w/ curtain and use pump sprayer.
That’s a pretty slick setup with the shower, Keith. I always thought an indoor one would be too much trouble to set up to keep everything around you dry but that seems to do the job okay. I think it would have to wait until I can sort out some roof bars and roof box to keep extra stuff like that in, though. I like being able to pull up and get in the back without hauling stuff out first. My truck is single cab so I lose storage up front but have a full 8’ box for the camper so it’s always a pay off one way or the other with camping space versus storage space depending on which you have. I sometimes see those double cab trucks with the 8’ box on the road and think that would be a nice thing to have! But even then you’ve got to think about a bigger vehicle having compromises and no doubt extra fuel costs. Will stick with what I have and work on extra storage up top for now. Your dog seems pretty lively for her age, mine is a little more low energy but he perks up when he’s out in the camper in new places. He’s probably a couple of years younger than your girl. So that’s how you get camping spots to yourself - play a bit of dueling banjos. Other potential campers hear that and are “Nope - keep driving!” 😂 Thanks for the upload. 👍🏻
