      To be the number 1 player Bronny is gonna have to have one of the craziest junior and seniors years we’ve seen in a while because he’s ranked like 25. Gilbert is right, but he forgot to mention that he's being compared to his dad who was one of the best high school players ever at 15, which he would've been on any team. That unfair comparison is why people are second guessing Bronny also.

    • @jonathanthomas9485
      @jonathanthomas9485 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Everyone peaks at different times. This is why comparing Bronny to his dad is an unrealistic and foolish comparison. Bronny can be GREAT and there's still a real chance he not come close to being the player his dad is. Lebron at 36 is still head and shoulders above most players in the league. At the pace he's currently playing at by the time he retires the GOAT conversation should be no longer debatable. Bronny will always be compared to his dad but we all know that it's all just gibberish until he begins playing at an elite level.

      Bro, totally agree. What sucks is most people don't even really comprehend what playing higher competition does for you. They might understand it at a simple level like what you described, but legit I've competed at things that I was sucking at, but somehow pushed into playing against professionals. After months of playing with professionals you adapt SO quick even if you're getting smashed, and when you go back to playing at a level below that its a CAKEWALK. And eventually you just naturally get better and get as good as the pros you play with. That luxury to be able to play with top talent alone is something not everybody gets a chance to do. That's why alot of dudes from other countries aren't as good as ones here in the USA, they don't get to really compete with real talent. There's NO way to grow as a ball player if you don't get to play with those better than you at at least something. And this applies to almost everything in life.

    It’s also important to point out that his name alone makes it impossible for him to get lost in the shuffle by playing alongside/behind these other great players. A kid who is unknown with just as much talent would most likely opt for a situation where he’s the #1 option to increase his exposure. Bronny already has the exposure. We just have to sit back and wait until it’s his time to be that guy. I’m sure it will be worth the wait.

    Gil is always so well spoken on the topic of how kids are being brought up in basketball these days. I’m really glad bronny is doing it the right way unlike people like Julian Newman. Julian Newman’s dad is his coach and has them in the worst division possible so his son can get a lot of highlights. That just makes it so when Julian gotta play people on his level , he’s lost. But with bronny he’s accepting a lot less highlights to be part of a tougher game which will give him a huge advantage on anyone who didn’t do the same. Kids are having their hands held through everything nowadays and they’re terrified to actually compete with good players. It translates to more than just sports aswell so I really do hope this turns around soon.
