Jordan dominated the NBA when he played. They changed the rules because of him. People who watch lebron will always feel he's the GOAT and i understand why because that's all they know. Its nothing Lebron has done or continue to do that impresses people who watched Jordan's career for the fact we can actually compare them. We got a chance to watch both of their careers. There is no comparison. They are two different players. Lebron is the best of this generation and he should be. Look at how weak the Nba is now compared to when Jordan played. Its sad. Jordan greatness is on a completely different level. Jordan had no weakness in his game. Its disrespectful to compare anyone to him. Jordan will forever be the True GOAT. Accept it.

It's fascinating to hear another professional break things down. I've always thought Lebron has the most raw physical talent of those three contenders, and I can't imagine having to be in front of that freight train of a man night in, night out. While we are Monday morning quarterbacking, I also thought his jump shot mechanic looked a little off, which might hinder him in the long run. Sure, he can still score prodigiously, but compared to MJ and KB's silky smooth motion, I thought it was lacking.
But on the whole, it sure looks like Lebron is emerging as a true GOAT possibility.

He is a multi skilled player who can switch when it is necessary unlike Kobe or MJ who played shooting guard and defense for most of their careers. Meanwhile, Lebron also plays defense.
You can't be the greatest civil engineer for doing bridges only while another civil engineer has done bridges, water structures, hotels etc...if that makes sense
Gilbert made a good point about scoring. Lebron could score 60 and still lose a game. That's why lakers stopped making playoffs even though Kobe was scoring many points until his retirement. It takes a TEAM effort because it's 5 players. You need others to contribute.

Seriously, that is one of the most indicting moments in Bron's career to prove how much bias there is against the dude.
Three members of the opposing team are right there; Crowder stepped in the way, and a fifth is in the paint - the entire opposing team is within a few feet of him to make sure he doesn't score, and he finds a Finals record scoring 3-point shooter so open he could take a nap before shooting, and there is still criticism?

If LeBron had played in that era and been in MJ’s shoes, I think he would’ve been similarly popular. I know what you mean though, I think Jordan is still the most well known player internationally, but it’s because of his play. Passing to a corner 3 isnt the "right play". Thats the biggest thing Lebron fans dont understand. A superstar driving will almost always shoot at least 45%, if not over 50% from 2. Lebron is 60+% on drives. Then you add in potential favorable foul calls and the odds go up. Whereas a role player in the corner is going to be a 36-38% 3 point shooter if youre lucky. And often they get impacted by nerves more.
Lebron relentlessly kicks it out even when its a 1 point game and its objectively the wrong decision. Theres a reason we intuitively know it doesnt work as well in practice.

My biggest thing about Arenas and all these lebron the goat fans fail to realize conference play. Its like Bron gets participation points as the goat for just making the finals.
If everyone just took 5 to 10 mins to do some research of nba basketball after Jordan left Chicago the west actually won all but 5 of the first 20 nba finals, so what exactly does that say about the eastern conference. In fact it was so lopsided that in my eyes the final was between the lakers and spurs, lakers, dallas or GSW from 2000 to 2019 for the most part. We all expected that Cleveland team to be there in the end and to get smashed by one of those four teams.
Also the proof in my argument is exactly why the allstar game format change when the west had 8 of the top 10 players in the league or so most seasons. The commissioner got tired of west winning the game 164 to 125 or so. Also the reason why they considered changing the nba playoffs format a few years ago because it wasn't fair for the #8 seed in the east to be 30 and 52 meanwhile #8 in the west was 44 and 28 or so. My point is lebron and those Cleveland teams wouldn't sniffed the finals in the west until he had Kyrie and Love and that possibly would've only happened one season or so

Also content matters. In the early 2000s lakers and spurs were the two super teams in that era. Then there were finals where the eastern teams were as good as the western teams. Packers vs lakers, spurs vs pistons, lakers vs Celtics, mavericks vs heat, warriors vs cavs first time were all Evenly matched teams. And you contradicted yourself by saying we all knew cavs will be in the finals yet saying it was spurs or lakers in the west in the finals. Both conference was dominated by a dynastic team. When warriors was winning it was always gonna be them in the finals. From 2000-2010 it was lakers or spurs coming out the west, from 2011-2013 was the only year the west was open. We look at a GOAT by how good they were in their prime, almost prime position, offence/defence and scoring. Longevity and injury does not affect GOAT status, especially since leBron is spending millions on health and longevity meanwhile MJ was stuck in a time of cigars and drugs, he’d even smoke a cigar before every game. MJ only needed one play style, and that style got him GOAT status, and “humble student”? What has this got to do with how good a player is, MJ was cocky and had a big ego because he was insanely good. LeBrons efforts outside the court have nothing to do with his skill. MJ is the GOAT and undeniably better at basketball.

@@l1ll4rd48 You clearly have a lot to learn about basketball and are undeniably influenced by mainstream sports channels. You speak of “we” as if you’re the entire world. You’re not. You’re just one man/woman. That being said, there’s obviously more to basketball than scoring. MJ was elite at scoring, there’s no denying that. But if you’ve ever played the game, then you remember the most joyous thing to play next to is an elite scorer and especially an elite passer. Conversely, if you play next to somebody who doesn’t pass (and there were countless moments where MJ refused to pass, I’ve seen the good, bad and ugly passing games of MJ), you’d tell him to stop hogging the ball! Prime is nothing, absolutely nothing compared to longevity. If a GM wants to build his team, why would he care about about a player’s prime or peak? He wants sustained excellence. If a company has a choice between hiring somebody with a prime or somebody who can give you years and years of excellent work and most of all availability, you’d know who’d they choose. Be honest with yourself.
About the health thing, it’s astonishing to see how in-objective you are when you praise MJ’s habits of cigars and drugs and indict LeBron for taking care of his body, you know, the number one thing teammates/players/coaches ask you to do as part of your job. Being humble has got EVERYTHING to do in being good in LIFE let alone basketball. Having ego in any situation, especially in basketball is never appreciated.
When it comes to skill, sure MJ has a better offensive package. Beautiful highlights. But that’s where it stops.
Passing, chase-down blocks, defending all 5 positions (you’ve seen LeBron front the post and neutralize bigs in their prime), communicating, getting teammates involved. All skills LeBron possessed that are way superior than MJ’s footwork. There’s so much to teach you, but I’ll leave it with these couple of jewels.
Look, it’s been a nice run for MJ, and he was phenomenal, but people are slowly waking up to the obvious fact that the bigger, faster, stronger, healthier, more unselfish and smarter LeBron James is the greatest basketball player of all time 👑

Jordan’s competition was simply not as good as Lebron’s throughout his career. There’s a reason why Jordan never really started winning until the great teams of the 80’s started to decline. Also, Jordan’s win-loss record without Pippen was 154-170. The biggest reason Jordan’s competition level was so much weaker than Lebron’s has been throughout his career is because during the 90’s there were several expansion teams added which led to a watered down league and inflated win-loss records. Lebron has taken 3 different teams to the Finals. Also, name me one superstar player off that 2007 Cavs team without Googling it. Lebron was carrying teams to the Finals. Look at some of those defenses Jordan faced. Jordan never had to go up against dynasty teams in the Finals like those Spurs teams and Warriors teams. I have nothing but respect for Jordan’s accomplishments and he is without a doubt a top 2 all time player. However, I do think there is a strong argument for Lebron as the GOAT. Also, Lebron’s obviously destroys Jordan in terms of longevity with or without the college years. Also, Lebron never got in trouble for gambling and letdown his team (the real reason he “retired” for a little while).
