That would be #1 on my list as well. But I seriously doubt it, considering Ubi's handling "The Crew" this past spring. They even took away players' licenses to ensure they have a more difficult time trying to hack their own PC files in someway. Never forget, we're only "leasing" the ability to play their game, not to ever actually own it.
Anyone who has been in a major corporation downsizing, the same stuff always occurs in roughly the same order. We have seen release schedules delayed, content canceled (Heartland is a tax write off?) layoffs (the employees are told everything is rosy up until they get cut, original, major players exiting the company either voluntarily or forced, a "major player" coming onboard (done after the Star Wars launch in this case) making vague promises when, in actuality, they are the hatchet Man who is there to kill the product/department, etc. and then the divesting of facilities /infrastructure (just happened). I doubt the game will exist in two years, which is optimistic.
Saw the message about servers yesterday -> shook my head. Saw the maintenance message this morning (plus delay as usual) -> here we go again. Logged in couple of times at lunch (PS5) with same result (few minutes in and everything freezes) -> let's go to X and check if they say something. Saw the usual bla bla bla apologies -> oh boy, grabbed the popcorn and waited for Tux video, I know it was coming. I think the best choice at this point would be to fix the major bugs and stability issues and call it a day. No more new content or DLCs. Better a stable old game than a circus repeating itself every few weeks like this
Nothing lasts forever. The Division games are in the top of my all-time favorite games. I've moved on after 1,200 hours but I thank UBI/Massive for making these games. I do hope there's more life in these games for those that still want to continue playing.
Anyone who does not see the end of Div2 and the inevitable canceling of Div3 has no experience or understanding of the business of software development. From a business perspective it is not hard to see Division franchise being gone in 2 years max...probably 1 year.
Ubisoft needs to concentrate on Division 3, Far Cry 7, Ghost Recon, and Assassins Creed. Make these games much faster and support them vigorously. I will buy all four as fast as they can keep making them. There are enough first person multiplayer shooters to satisfy everyone. We dont need more of them.
With how much money that Ubi has been bleeding due every game they make flopping I wouldn’t be surprised if they scrap Div 3. Also it’s absolutely crazy to think that we are talking about server mergers and Div 2 being on life support while we supposedly have a DLC coming in 2025. Ubi has fumbled this game so much.
Xbox here (Essex) and we had this last night, delta'd so often we gave up in the DZ. Some players were doing the sleigher bug so not sure if that was a factor but frustrating none the less.
Same here in the states. After every delta I get put in a queue that starts around 200 and slowly ticks down until I'm back in the game only to get another delta 30 seconds later.
Avatar sales were meh , Star Wars is very bad and flopping, estimated quarterly sales dropped from 700M to 500M. Resurgence suddenly no mention , heartland cancelled, AC Shadows facing legal issues. Well I am starting to convince myself that Div 3 might never happen.
Def a bad sign and 100% firmcist savings. I have barely logged in since July. Maybe season2 will be worthwhile and lead into the DLC but we needed it last year.
The consolidation of servers doesn't alarm me (saves money, increases player density); but it doesn't solve the "problem" of a single player game that requires multi-player aspects to unlock gear / story plots. I've been playing fairly regular over the life of Div2 and still haven't gotten the Eagle Bearer / Ouroboros to drop. It's not a huge deal, but the Completionist in me hates that certain content makes multiplayer mandatory.
I mean, ubisoft had alot of good games on there hands. But on every singel one they dropt the ball. Idk what they are thinking with this minimal effort…
Server merging could also lead to players experiencing more lag, and connection issues, I mean what would happen if all the servers moved to the US, what wold the latency and lag be like on , say , EU servers. Division 2, has been ruining itself by the lack of New content, Not re-skinned old content. How many years do Ubisoft expect players to play the same content over and over.
Div2 is one of my favourite games of all time, but honestly, since TFD launched I haven't touched it. After thousands of hours, I'm beyond bored. With the Star Wars disaster, I fear for Massive and the franchise.

If they made Division 2 free 2 play I think it would give the community the boost it needs and more revenue because I’m sure those new players would purchase more cosmetic items and season purchases. I’m sure old players would come back as well.
Considering Ubisoft’s concept of game ownership, they might as well just make all their games f2p. At least we won’t complain if they decide to shut servers down and whatever I spent on skins/dlcs I won’t feel too bad about losing.

I gotta say the descent mode could keep a lot of people playing but they make bad decisions like adding the talent pools you can never experiment with different builds. You just pick the meta for each pool if you even want to play. Also the fun way to play descent is not to go kill the nemesis. It’s to just go as high as loops as you can. Also it takes way too long. they could easily keep it difficult and speed up the first 15-20 loops by making it so you don’t get 2 waves until loop 11 and then 3 waves at loop 21. Also 8 out of 10 players don’t even know how the nemisis works. Make a 3-4 paragraph guide or something that explains to players so they know if they go with a stinger hive and an incinerator turret the team is going to wipe. Lastly put more of the guns in the game into the mode. Anyway it’s the only reason I’ve played the game since it came out and man what huge disappointment when they added the talent pools.
All this shitting on the player base and they have the nerve to offer another outfit for sale? They have no shame. Keep donating to the degradation of your experience though, guys!!
Unplayable after this mornings update. I’ve seen the black tusk invasion animation 5 times now from loading in and being kicked from the game. I was able to play after trying 10 times but inevitably the game would crash, enemies wouldn’t take damage and I’d be unable to log out. I’d have to force quit the game. The damn server I’m in won’t even show up so I don’t know if I’m even in a server.
I think they seriously screwed themselves with this update. Whatever player base that’s left is gonna be gone after this. I’m already looking into another game. Like at least make your game playable. I was content with just doing control points and now I can’t even do that without being delta screened. And then to spit in my face, they offer me up a Keener bundle after being kicked out of the game a hundred times.
It’s over, the player count is down and they’re not going to pay for those servers if the players ain’t there😩 still my favorite game of all time but I gotta call a spade a spade.
The writing has been on the wall ever since Ubisoft reported Div2's launch was "below expectation". The higherups probably were so ready to order everyone at Massive to pack up and leave. I can't describe how much of a miracle we've got post-launch for this game beyond its first year, let alone for 6 years. What I'm expecting now is official end-of-support after the story DLC. It's been a frustrating few years Division 2, but I've had some fun. Hopefully (and this is wishful thinking) Division 3 isn't too far away and get the proper funding and planning it deserves.
whoever in ubisoft thought that merging servers in one , knows how to fly a kite in Mars... on the internet a server merges means that if any main server goes down , ALL in that servers ( US ) will NOT be able to play... you need to create a cluster in US East and WEST as the Europe and Asian server are
i dont even care about woke stuff honestly, its just there is NOTHING to do in this damn game anymore, unless youre going into the dark zone with your squad I suppose. Theres just no incentive to play. Sometimes when new seasons come around , I get excited because I cant wait to try out the new exotics and new gear sets, but all of them SUCK, theres no new sets or exotics worth using. No new weapons that are fun. Hell even the apparel sucks and is just lazy copy and paste designs. I loved this game and played it to death, but i cant find a reason to come back anymore. I dont feel like running control points or doing raids for the ten thousandth time.
This is how most of us feel. We loved the game so much but now it's like a close friend who moved out of state and only visits for the holidays. You try to catch up but it's just not the same nor have either of you changed enough for it to be at least interesting. SMH. No one really wanted the division 3. We wanted better support for the division 2 and the characters we've invested in for years.
I loved Starfield. It was too buggy for me to cover and reco early on, but it was fantastic. And they patched it so it should be cleaner. But now, I am covering so many other things. I hope i find a way.
Remember, ‘Seasonal Characters’ was a huge part of their plan to keep this game going. I’m glad they cancelled it, but I knew it could mean slow wind down of Div 2. Imagine pouring time money and resources into a new format to the game and then canceling the whole plan. I think we should expect a few more tidbits here and there, but no major updates till Div 3
I'm glad that I was watching this on the side while I was playing, otherwise I would have been so lost and pissed off. I can't even complete the second bounty for the trial because the server just dies.
The biggest issue ive had with this fantastic game is the developers ability to "bite the hand that feeds you". Players finding exploits were punished for finding problems that the developers made, and NOT owning the mistake and fix it. Roll-backs of progress regardless of exploit or not. Countless of nerfs of weapons or items having us constantly rebuilding our fits and weapons to enjoy the game. Nerfing dark hours into oblivion for most players. Making iron horse so hard and so complex that only the real experianced players would even bother to figure it out and keep repeeteing the mission. Never adressing the issue with the reviver hive not working properly. And OMG the disconnection issue. We were insanly hyped for WONY only to have absolutely everything nerfed and start rebuilding everything.....again. Thousands of players left the game compleetly only 1 year after launch. Totally burned out of all the dissapointments. We found ways to what ever problem only to get nerfed after a short time. Theres no game that ive had so much fun, playing with other gamers around the world, but OMG the devs or owners really messed this game bad. And if anything its nothing but sad.
This merger sucks, I feel like I never come across the same people i use to match up with during countdown or summit, now I'm playing with a bunch of high lvl players that have know clue on what to do!!
I played the Division 2 since launch. I quit when they announced seasonal characters. Ubisoft's/Massive's major mishandling of this game since launch has convinced me to give up on all Ubisoft Games till they improve
A lot of people have been putting all their chips on Division 3, but...I'm still in doubt that it'll be made. Until I see something concrete, trailer, gameplay, something...I'm gonna continue to doubt. As for Division 2, I feel many are overestimating player counts and online activity. I can barely ever matchmake with people (maybe now that servers are merged, don't know if that would help or not), but gameplay content has largely been the same season to season and the story, while seeming to advance, feels almost impossible to catch up on and follow. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Division 2 development was winding down.
My buddy and I were the last two in our clan and he pretty much stopped playing this game a month ago. I pushed on but I haven’t played in two weeks now.
They have done this to themselves! They deserve every bit of it! From no content to the horrible attempt to switch to seasonal characters to all of the non communication to the lack of resources put into the franchise. This has been THE absolute most disrespect I have seen in a game towards their fan base. I have over 9,200 hours in Div2 alone and over 15,000 SHD levels and played pretty much every day! I was loyal for the longest time until it was just too much! The First Descendant was able to pull me away finally! If you ask anyone one that knows me, that took a lot! I gave all I had to The Division 2 and what I got was a constant slap in the face and a kick in the nuts!
Server merges for me has always been double-sided for three decades as am MMO player. Pro: Usually almost immediately, you had more people to play all types of content you put aside like certain raids/missions. Con: Usually almost immediately, you had more people start to quit a game because "It's dead, Jim" was the meme back then...snowball effect. I never minded it because I was in guilds/linkshells. Now as a solo player, I mind server merges even less.
I quit playing about 3 weeks ago. Problems with the game, combined with the release of The First Descendant for me. Even when I was playing, only 5-6 folks were active in my clan. Looking forward to the Division 3, but honestly they should shutter Div1 and Div2 servers when they release Div3
Division 1 still has servers going despite being smaller than Div 2. Also, as they wish to hype Div 3 eventually they need Div 2 going strong. No one should be worried.
I wouldn't mind if they made this an offline only game once the player base gets too low to justify keeping servers alive. Many play TD2 in single player mode anyway.. I hope they won't just shut off the servers before making the necessary code changes though - if I could just play the game indefinitely in its current state, I'd be reasonably happy.
"Additionally, some of you might have found yourselves locked out of your accounts due to the increase in crashes..." This dev team will never fail to make me laugh. it's incompetence with an exponent on it. Glad these clowns are still ruining my favorite game, I needed a good laugh as my last shreds of hope for this game died out months ago.
The merge is a lie. They announced it and I have yet to be put in a us central server. I am west coast and for the passed year or so, I have had terrible connectivity and I am Always being placed on Asia, Europe or Australia servers. Just this morning I am on Australia....and thats when I'm not being delta-3'd repeatedly.
@freshcity What? No. I am US West. Even after they said everyone in US was put on the central us server, I was being placed on Asia, Europe, and Australia servers. And even today after the servers finally came back up, I was placed on Asia...I played a bit, took a smoke break and came back and logged in and was finally placed on US Central. Was just afk to chat with my wife at her lunch break and I was just put on the Asia server.
@freshcity Smh, I didn't know there was a new dmg glitch. Still, them claiming all are being put on us central is bs...im in Washington state and am being placed on Asia and Australia servers all day.
@@brassbat it have todo with the holiday SMG slayer I believe and exotic chest piece the collector with shock or explosive trap and shoot your gun. But I been mostly playing in the central the past week and I’m on the east coast.
They don't communicate with the community because they do not care at all what you think. Stop giving money to people who hate you. Let this game die so someone can do it better.
they should have never cancelled heartlands. they isolated a whole player base when they did that. heartsland should have been released before xdefiant too. i feel like heartlands started development before xdefiant
wait! I just started playing this game. I have like 240 hours lvl 117. there's so much stuff I need to do.I figure out my builds, get all the exotics, ect ect!
I’ve been having horrible connections I’m not seeing low connection anymore in bottom left (the one that says latency is bad and you could lag) and I’m clipping everywhere, I live in hotel with bad internet, horrible situation it’s bad rn
I love the concept of division. But when we went to seasons it all went down hill. Its been more an more issues playing. I went along time looking for a real open world game like this an theyve made it hard to stay on.
Great video and comments from followers....I really do hope we get some transparency with regards to the future of this game. It honestly is a great game for being what 6+ years old. I know we all love to hate and hate to love this game but so far I have not found a single PVP Multiplayer game that comes even close to this game. I tried the others but they lack the 4 player group or the hey let's get in a chat party and get to know each other and have some fun. All games going forward should at minimum be co-op and also MP at 4 players per group. I played Starfield the other day - beautiful game but it would have been an exceptional 10/10 with some sort of Co-op or MP PVP...
I also play For Honor a lot and for the last 2 months or so the servers have been acting really poorly. Both games are on life support so maybe they are doing things to the servers to lower costs. No word on the For Honor team aswell, they only gave a miserable amount of ingame money to compensate
As an IT Cloud Engineer (Azure, AWS, Google, etc) for over twenty years, to add. Moving a cloud server regardless of Azure, AWS, Google, etc to a different location or consolidation is mainly done to optimize monitoring and support of the servers long term. Moving from one location to another hardly has any cost-saving impact and is not the primary reason for a cloud server merger. It is just a plus as markers are done in the cloud to consolidate a new group with better management tools. Cost saving is dictated by the server plan that it is currently enrolled in that can be changed and optimized at any time. If the sole purpose is cost savings this tells me they either had no team behind the wheel to continue to develop and maximize the servers or it was handled by a contractor group that they let go with no real replacement solution in place so they are scrambling. This gives me stronger vibes about internal processes and management issues. If runs smoothly a team will have documented processes and maintenance windows to develop and push updates to the cloud servers to both manage costs and resources. This tells me the merge is more of rebuilding new server configurations from the ground up with the proper agent monitoring as the prior group did a poor job of the original setup with no documentation
I'm not really interested in multiplayer. Please put a single-player offline mode into both Division 1 and 2 when you discontinue service please. It will be nice to have an Eagle Bearer and Ouroboros
I think after many years its time to say goodbye to my ild friend the division. It could have been one of the greatest franchises ever but they have destroyed it. Im going to run through the season finale then that may be it.
I stopped playing quit playing D2 quite a while ago... was having an ongoing issue with the game crashing after 45 minutes or so of playing... ironically, it seems like it's fixed now, but the interest is mostly gone... Not sure how many hours I have in it, but my watch is over 1000... On the one hand, I own quite a few Ubisoft titles... but their poor support combined with making some of their games unplayable, makes me not terribly interested in buying any Ubisoft titles right now. I really liked Division and Division 2... and several of the Assassins Creed games, but I think I will be on a Ubisoft break...
Division only cares about selling apparel. I understand the sales point but when before manhunts where giving atleast a exotic for completion now just gives us a patch or backpack trophy. Not worthy
I really hope they take the best elements from Division 1 and Division 2 and put them into Division 3. Division has an incredibly deep lore and mechanics that are unmatched by any other game. I was really disappointed with Heartland cancellation. Nothing else comes close-not even Destiny, NOTHING comes close. Division 3 has the potential to be something truly worthwhile, but let's face it, this is Ubisoft we’re talking about-they have a track record of letting the player base down. Recent releases have been underwhelming: Outlaws was trash, XDefiant didn’t deliver, Extraction was fun but aimed at the wrong audience, Breakpoint was enjoyable but lacked depth, Far Cry 6 was fun but didn’t offer much replay value, Skull and Bones is a mess, Assassin’s Creed feels fragmented and broken, Avatar didn’t impress, and Watch Dogs had huge potential but they dropped the ball. I’ve always been a Division lifer-the game is part of my personal gaming journey. Nothing beats the atmosphere of Division 1 or the movement of Division 2. Sure, every game has its trolls, but the Division community was genuinely great. Ubisoft needs to re-evaluate who makes the decisions and oversees their game lineup. There’s a real opportunity here for Division 3 to be something massive-both literally and figuratively.
Dead game. Ubisoft has been very deceitful to its player base for a long time. I don't even care if Div 3 even comes out anymore. There are so many other good games out there. Move on folks.
Curious if the steam number of concurrent players if just players who bought the game on steam or if it includes those who purchased the game from Ubiosft. 1,600 is really low.
With all this talk of the division dying, I’ve already dedicated my time to learning a new hobby………..I REALLY!!….had a love hate for the game. But, it’s inevitable…this game going to die and there’s nothing we can do about it.
Sad because The Division 1 and 2 were some of the most fun and memorable games I’ve ever played.
Indeed
I just hope they make an offline possibility for division 2 when it gets to the chopping block
That would be #1 on my list as well. But I seriously doubt it, considering Ubi's handling "The Crew" this past spring. They won't. They don't care about the players and leaving it playable would directly compete with whatever other game they have on offer.
Game "ownership" isn't what it once was. Especially live service games
Ubi Massive WINS incompetence extraordinare award
that PTS better rock though
isn't this their 3rd year in a row doing so?
All signs point to cost cutting and more of the middle finger to Div 2 players. Must be about time for more skins people will gobble up.
New pistol is in expertise 😮😮😮😮😮😮
Ubisoft made a mistake by passing on Heartland in favor of XDefiant
😢

From Asia delta 3 every few minutes. Some quality game development going on Ubi Soft. What a surprise.

It’s over, the player count is down and they’re not going to pay for those servers if the players ain’t there😩 still my favorite game of all time but I gotta call a spade a spade.
At least Tux touched on this topic the other youtube ppl seem scared to talk about how bad this actually is
Game losing all textures and crashing has been the most annoying from the last few weeks.
Make Division Great Again
I have a few thousand hours in div 2, I went to the first descendant and haven't looked back, waiting for new stuff
Now we know who actually is FIRST rogue and its rly not Keener but its Ubishite lmao.
Its unfortunate because Div2 has a great gameplay loop. Somehow, these devs always find a way to disappoint the community.
Why does it sound like Ubi Soft is turning into EA when a title doesn't take off they abandon it asap.
They are sabotaging the game IMO. Death by a thousand cuts it feels like.
I’m starting starfield because I’m tired of running the same missions over again.
I loved Starfield. It was too buggy for me to cover and reco early on, but it was fantastic. And they patched it so it should be cleaner. But now, I am covering so many other things. I hope i find a way.
Sweet can’t wait for the videos. I love the striker skill build you did. I use it a lot now
Remember, ‘Seasonal Characters’ was a huge part of their plan to keep this game going.
I can't even complete the second bounty for the trial because the server just dies.
its funny they have all these issues but they always putting a bundle for sale . bro just have us unlock that stuff by doing something in game atp
Meanwhile the China Version is creating things for the game we have been asking for
With everything going on and the rumors of them shutting down div 1 i wouldn't be surprised if that happens
If you
ask anyone one that knows me, that took a lot! I gave all I had to The Division 2 and what I got was a constant slap in the face and a kick in the nuts!
If Division 1 is still active years after its peak I don’t see Division 2 going anywhere
Div1 was MUCH BETTER than shitty div2. Facts just ask around
Millions disagree, millions agree... You're opinion means fuq all. Facts
@@abcdefg3214 Are you saying millions say that div2 was better than div1? Please show me that copium stat please! PLEASE!
Ubi soft is in trouble with the games they have produced lately.
"Additionally, some of you might have found yourselves locked out of your accounts due to the increase in crashes..."
This dev team will never fail to make me laugh. it's incompetence with an exponent on it. Glad these clowns are still ruining my favorite game, I needed a good laugh as my last shreds of hope for this game died out months ago.
remember the last infra update? Killed the game for 3-days. No logging in on all platforms.
American servers buddy🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ you over in Europe so most likely which ever your server you have would be the same as for the American ones
@freshcity
What?
@@brassbat I been playing the central servers a lil over a week. And with the new dmg glitch it lags the servers
@freshcity
Smh, I didn't know there was a new dmg glitch.
Still, them claiming all are being put on us central is bs...im in Washington state and am being placed on Asia and Australia servers all day.
@@brassbat it have todo with the holiday SMG slayer I believe and exotic chest piece the collector with shock or explosive trap and shoot your gun. But I been mostly playing in the central the past week and I’m on the east coast.
lol everyone keeps saying “ oh I’ll go play Breakpoint!” Ubisoft
“I’ll go play Div1” Ubisoft
They seem to not want us to play this game
They don't communicate with the community because they do not care at all what you think. Stop giving money to people who hate you. Let this game die so someone can do it better.
Server merge only means more hacks and more problems for everyone. Thanks.
they should have never cancelled heartlands. they isolated a whole player base when they did that. heartsland should have been released before xdefiant too. i feel like heartlands started development before xdefiant
Well if the merge allows me to find players that still play the Dark Hours or the Iron Horse raids, then that's good for me.
wait! I just started playing this game. I have like 240 hours lvl 117. there's so much stuff I need to do.I figure out my builds, get all the exotics, ect ect!
The steam numbers are gonna be smaller than ubi connect because it tooks years for it to release on steam.
I’ve been having horrible connections I’m not seeing low connection anymore in bottom left (the one that says latency is bad and you could lag) and I’m clipping everywhere, I live in hotel with bad internet, horrible situation it’s bad rn
Its amasing ubi stillexists with how horrible managment has been for so long
I love the concept of division.
Yeah I stopped cold turkey at the start of the season 4200+ game time I couldn't even play it for the story I was so worn out.
I also play For Honor a lot and for the last 2 months or so the servers have been acting really poorly. Both games are on life support so maybe they are doing things to the servers to lower costs. No word on the For Honor team aswell, they only gave a miserable amount of ingame money to compensate
Meanwhile RogueGold is running crisis control for Ubi
Thank a content creator for all this.
Ngl, I thought this game was dead and over with long time ago.
This tells me the merge is more of rebuilding new server configurations from the ground up with the proper agent monitoring as the prior group did a poor job of the original setup with no documentation
lovely insight. Thanks for this!!!
I get random disconnects despite having high latency network performance with spectrum. It’s a server side issue.
The Division is Ubisoft’s Golden Goose. All they had to do was go all in with it… but no.
Merging servers ...in other words, getting rid of servers to cut costs
Dead game. Ubisoft has been very deceitful to its player base for a long time. I don't even care if Div 3 even comes out anymore. There are so many other good games out there. Move on folks.
The whole game is broken now, I can't even log in.
Game is on life support. I am only about 2500 hours in took a break with repeated seasons, really struggling to log in
Curious if the steam number of concurrent players if just players who bought the game on steam or if it includes those who purchased the game from Ubiosft. 1,600 is really low.
It's sad that Money is more important then any human soul's and a Soul is priceless but don't tell the greed about that.
With all this talk of the division dying, I’ve already dedicated my time to learning a new hobby………..I REALLY!!….had a love hate for the game. But, it’s inevitable…this game going to die and there’s nothing we can do about it.
The game is pretty much late in the game cycle and there not a lot of people playing so merging make sense so it won’t be dead servers.
in playstation you can find a lot of people playing, I love the division but like all the ubisoft games, the division is marked to ends soon
