Maybe the newer Tiguan will drop in reliability in the next few years, what I mean to say is probably the older it is the more problems it will have, saying that I thought VW would have scored higher...🤷♂

VW has been a mess since 15", days of VW quality are long gone.

Interesting the gap between the Tiguan (14) and the Q3 (7). Thought they shared many of the same components - Question whether these reliability surveys are that reliable?
They're only as good as the experiences of the people who respond to them. Pretty much what I said at the start mate, take it with a pinch of salt but some interesting patterns often develop.
These customer satisfaction/reliability surveys are basically all we have, unless you just take pot luck with whatever car you choose to go for....

These reliability reports seem to go in all directions. I would like to ask if they are as objective as we think. What I generally believe is that almost all cars can be reliable to some extent. It all depends on how well they are taken care of... One thing I suspect is that if you buy a very expensive car, the service costs will also be very expensive and you will delay the service until the service light light up, maybe longer? I service my car long before the service interval, and rarely drive more than 10,000 km before changing the oil. As in direct-injected, turbocharged engines, oil changes are even more important to do often.

My kia sportage dct box has been leaking and is going in for a check not bad just oil weeping mechanic said poss seal or gaskets. 😢 it 2018 so under warranty 😂

No Toyota, Honda or Mazda. Strange how these cars are on top of the reliability lists in the US, Canada, Australia and Germany. It must be your weather.

Yes, unusual.
Crv are not as reliable as they were. Ive had 2 Mk lll petrol and 2.2 dtec diesel. Bot had major issues. Petrol had a battery drain and the diesel egr pipe replaced at £800
Suzuki Grand Vitara is bullitproof.
