Hi, just found this channel, because i’m trying to get educated in the train world. Thanks for all the great info! You do a great job of cutting through jargon.
Has there ever been a test where you hook a locomotive up to a spring loaded device and slowly applied power till traction was lost to measure how much of a train it could start.
Great video got to learn new things. First time I understood the meaning of gear ratio. Though I am mechanical engineering graduate, I didn't knew the application of gear ratio. 😅 Every thing you said I have learnt in subjects such as Machine Design and Theory of Machines
For train signaling please see here (th-cam.com/video/uyHqIxVz1vs/w-d-xo.html). Signaling and train protection and warning details are presented from 9:12 minutes. For traffic control in metro systems see (th-cam.com/video/hL-Wwfrxzzc/w-d-xo.html) from 2:12 minutes. Hope this helps...:)
i want to know that, AEB system, TE and Hp how to affect load. means 4500Hp can carry hoe much load at what speed? and effect of gradient/slop on TE. i will wait...😊
@@JishyFishy4106 Horsepower is a unit of power. Since your cycle is presumably powered by you it will have the horsepower of your muscles, unless of course you lack muscle power, in which case indeed your cycle won’t have any horsepower. I expect the next comment from you would be what is power? Any standard Physics book would give you the answer but it appears you lack an understanding of physics. If needed, for your next comment I will explain what power is...
@@TheTrainStory Power is rate of Work Done. It is Newton Force x Displacement s upon Time t. Since Displacement s upon time t gives u velocity, Power can be called as a Product of Newton Force and v Velocity
ToonandBBfan usually tractive effort of locomotives will be as per the purpose for which it was designed. I don’t have much information on British locomotives but perhaps the class 37 was designed to haul heavier loads (more cars). Hope this helps...

So finally a video series which is actually technical 👍
Pallav Mathur Thank you 😊

Thank you Marcus

Nice presentation
Thanks
Make explaining of Wap1,Wap5,Vande bharat ❤
Wdp4D &DG4D mine Fav Emd Locos 🤩🔥🔥
Useful and informative. Thanks for posting.
The BHEEM wdg5 has a larger gear ratio of 90:21, which is more than 90:17. Thus, the Passenger Version, the "WD P-5 ARJUN" shall have a ratio of 75:21
Thank u explaining about this Emds
Good knowledge
Thanks

knowledgeable effort👌👍
Good ... Please make more videos like this...
Thanks bro...
HOW DID YOU GET 55 TON AND 41 TON TRACTIVE EFFORT? F=P/V; P=4500HP=3307500WATT; V1=100KMPH=27.7M/S; V2=135KMPH=37.5M/S ... PLZ CONTINUE FROM HERE
Nice explaination
Great video I must watch it again thank you
Guy Prior Thank you 😊
So the hp is not everything in any loco in terms of speed & load, weight tractive effort & gear ratio also matters
Yes
Please put videos on how train brake works and signaling system

Te and hp are not really related.
@@NoBody-ht1oh okay
really informative video
Thank you Mayur

Useful
Very good information. Thank you!
Thank you bro
very nicely explained
That means if I put my geared bicycle in the 21st Gear, ie in a Gear ratio of 7:3, then my cycle can pull heavy loads right ??
Provided you also have the horsepower and tractive effort
@@TheTrainStory there is no engine in my cycle obviously. So I cannot. Only engine produces hp

What about the good old British class 37 and class 55 (Deltic)? Whats their tractive efforts?
ToonandBBfan 25 tonnes (Class 37) and 23 tonnes (Class 55) 😊
Thanks but how come the 37 has MORE than the Deltic??????

Al Farooque 😊
They are funny looking locos.
American designs 😊
ONE is manufactured by EMD and other by ALCO ....
COMPANY , BOTH ARE AMERICAN COMPANIES...
Are they now looking funny to you!
One made by EMD is 2 stroke locomotive and other made by ALCO in 1950s or earlier are 4 stroke locomotives.
