I see lots of people booooo'ing the CVT but nobody has put up any facts or figures as to why like mileage, year etc. We have a base model 2wd 2016 with 55K on it. No problems at all even on long freeway driving at 75mph. SC to FL with just gas stops. I've been told the early ones had smaller transmission coolers and they changed that. Mileage is great at around 30MPG normal city/highway driving and best on a long trip was a whopping 44MPG with cruise control set and just enjoying the ride. It is still quite sporty in the "sport mode" and handles quite well. The one we have was a rental and she bought it after the rental period. No regrets. Regular service is a must. The only problem is the usb port won't charge anymore. It will play music but won't keep the phone charged. Minor issue. Overall great car!

I average 25.4 mpg on my 2015 rogue. Highway I get around 28 mpg. I've had it over a year and still love it. Great car.

Bought a 2016 s mode awd last night! What’s this “cvt” issues everyone’s talking about?

@@lstruggy Continuously Variable Transmission. It uses a metal segmented belt and the pulleys change size as the demand for power changes. It actually works quite well. My Wife's has yet to have any problems at 55K miles. Average MPG is around 30 and best on a long trip is 44MPG. It is a bit weird and takes some getting use to. It has plenty of get up an go and gets great gas mileage. The early Rogues had transmission cooler problems so they overheated on highway driving so I've heard from owners. The '16 is not suppose to have this problem. We have taken 8-10hr trips with gas stops and no problems at all.

Nice review. At quick glance, the new interior styling cue Nissan is now going to go with, is an obvious copy of Cadillac. The piano black, the prominent vents, etc. I see it.

When I rented a Nissan Altima
I notice it had good gas mileage along with good horsepower
So I assume that the Rogue has the same performance.

You won't get quite as good gas mileage as on the Altima but yes it's similar. Like he says (1:50) the 2.5L QR is a proven engine. I traded up from a '12 Altima to a '16 Rogue and wasn't disappointed.

My Wife's 2016 Rogue 2wd gets avg 30 +/- 2MPG and best on a long trip was 44. I love driving it when I take it into sport mode and play. They are quite fun.

We are looking at trading our tired '05 Escape for one of these. I have concerns about the reliability of the CVT transmission.
