@@gillehrer2824 This is a great performance! @thebentley71 probably meant "annunciation" or "articulation", which in music are important aspects of voice to study and practice. It's important because easily-understood vocals only aid in conveying the poetry and message of the lyrics. I love the singer's timbre, tasteful melisma, time feel, and general vibe all around. However, I can hear what @thebentley71 is likely getting at (after his accurate and thoughtful compliments). The vocal style sounds extremely similar to Ray Robinson (Ray Charles), but learning a style of another soul singer (like Same Cooke) could allow him to have another "weapon" in his musical arsenal. In some vocal jazz, I find some over-annunciating quite irritating, but Sam Cooke would be a great example of a vocal artist who straddles that line skillfully while keeping it very soulful, dumbass.
