I am about to try using the acid for the first time. My friend works at a dealership, and gave me a bottle to try on my 24 year old Astro van. Your video gives me the confidence to go full steam ahead. Thanks.
Right on brother go for it you don’t have to be afraid. Just keep the wheel wet and don’t let it dry. Let it sit for about 30 to 60 seconds. You can agitate with a brush if you want to but you don’t have to.
Glad you are keeping nasty people away from the channel man! Positive vibes! I normally use Renegade mag N' wire acid wheel cleaner however the 3d is less expensive so on my next go around I'll give this a shot! Thanks! Great video as always!
super informative channel... I've used diluted megs wheel brightener in the same fashion.. On paint I typically wash the vehicle 1st then use light agitation.. rinse off or even re foam the car
Just saw a demonstration where a guy sprayed wheel acid lightly diluted (1:1) and it removed all the industrial fallout. When he sprayed iron remover on the half of the car pretreated with wheel acid, there was no purple. All the iron was removed by the acid. On the other half without acid pretreatment, it was covered in purple. Could diluted wheel acid be a super cheap alternative to iron remover? Hmmm
Thank you for keeping nasty people off here. I really appreciate it. This is my happy place, learning more and great tips and tricks from you. Stay slick!
Great video!!! I have used the Nanoskin Speedy Brite and the bottle says is an organic acid that is also safe on aluminum, but still have to try on paint, will see how it goes. Great product!! Thanks for the video!
For the paint, when you do want a little agitation I just use a wash mitt. Keeps from getting the steaks also. Great content. Surprised not more views. seems like many dealers don't wanna learn more methods these days.
Great information Stay Slick! I can't wait to try this, especially for glass. I will buy/use Superior Products Wire Wheel Magic with varying ratios, 4:1, 3:1, etc. The traditional water spot removers out there doesn't remove the heavily etched-in water spots that has been baking for months at a time.
Good work, Mr. Slick. Acid works, but it is still scary stuff! I've seen several cars wrecked by acid. I've only used Meguiar's wheel brightener. Have you used it? Any thoughts on it? Why are you using 3D's wheel acid and not Meg's? Great video. Thank you.
Haha yea it can be nerve wracking but you just need to be careful and aware of where youre using it. I use 3D just because that was my first introduction to acids. No other reason. I’ll probably try a few others just to compare.
What's up my guy . Really like your vids . Where I'm a little confused is with the acid cleaner . It says it's an aluminum brightener but then says at the same time not to use on aluminum ? I'm confused on exactly which aluminum rims to and not to use on . That's obviously extremely important . I need like pics or video examples to resolve any confusion .. would really appreciate . And I do respect your knowledge . Keep up the good work .
Hey brother, this particular one doesn’t really talk about aluminum. This is for chrome painted wheels, painted surfaces glass. I would never use acid on raw aluminum unless you’re planning to polish it afterwards because it’s gonna make it white and cloudy.
Hey man, great video love your channel. I have a question regarding the stacking of the iron remover and wheel acid. Doesn't wheel acid remove iron deposits better than iron remover? I thought Iron removers were just safer (and softer) PH-Neutral chemicals which were safe to use undilluted on paint & glass vs wheel acids which can etch glass.
Great work...will that acid work on fallout out...I have quite a bite on the rear quarters at the bottom..I tried meguiers iron remover but it didn't do much...thanks for the video
Love your channel, have learned new things that I have incorporated to my system. Keep up the great work 👍 Also one of the best logos in detailing. Any merch coming out? Would love a hat, Stay slick as always 😉
You can use something like atomic Mac from bilt hamber and it really helps but honestly it's not really worth it. You can apply the acid to a brush or towel and apply that way it just takes longer.
Sometimes depending on the surface you're putting it on.... if you need a faster action go a bit strong. And yes like stay slick do wet all surface before applying keep your pressure washer gun on hand don't get acid dry you'll figure it out the more you work with it no one teaches me I just decide to get it and work my way into it start light....... great video stay slick great content
People have a very sad misconception about acid. Can it cause reactions? Sure. So can bases. Things like hydrochloric acid live within our bodies. Now about the only thing that I see you're doing wrong is using a base degreaser with an acid which neutralizes itself. So defeats the purpose. Youre only getting a few seconds of the extra cleaning. Make sure tires arent dry rotting and youre good. At the dealership we used to use acid on paint and everything in Florida because of water spots
It was absolutely no reason to go so operational overkill with wheel acid on those rims, you must be kidding me. Simple rim cleaner non acid would have removed that in a second. Am I going to be blocked now little baby 😭
Well why would I block you when it’s just so fun to have you around? I appreciate you being concerned with me over using product I assume it’s because you want me to be more profitable. I tell you what, youre welcome to come down here and “show me how it’s done” anytime. Ps I’m impressed that you know exactly what to do without being here or having any info on these wheels and what has been used on it before.
@@StaySlick let's get one thing straight, I am not disagreeing with everything you do as a matter of fact 90% of what you do is pretty damn good but there are some things that I will disagree with after being in this industry for so long I have found that a lot of TH-cam videos if followed by their viewers to destroy their vehicle, I'm sure you would agree.
These comments are confusing. Do you mind explaining your exact process on using wheel acid for windows/windshield water spots please? It's clearly more dangerous.

Does the acid affect the black trim in any way?

Yes sir I ain’t playin around with that mess. Not cool. I just saw renegades acid. I’ll have to try it out.
super informative channel... I've used diluted megs wheel brightener in the same fashion.. On paint I typically wash the vehicle 1st then use light agitation.. rinse off or even re foam the car
Right on thank you sir. Glad you dig the channel. Thanks for the info.

Meguiars Wheel Brightener is what I use on hard water spots. All your instructions for using acid on wheels and paint are good.
What’s the dilution on that?
Meguiars Wheel Brightener dilute 1:4 @@juicycaballero9840

Thank you brother yea I’ve used that product. It’s good but nowhere near a traditional acid.
@@StaySlick good to know this bro, I haven’t tried anything else, so when I am done with this I will probably get what you use. Thank you!
Great video!! Who makes that blue electric sprayer your using?
Thank you brother. Here’s the link.

Great tips, thanks! Have you told the lady that those sprinklers are killing her paint? Maybe they can adjust the heads so they dont hit the car
Yea I told her last month and she said she would adjust them but I guess not.

thank you Gary is been a lot of help
Amazing job sir. Be blessed🎉
I’d also recommend never painting on acid 🙃
Good vid. Thanks brother.
Haha word.
That's very funny..I get it
Forgot to ask. Would you recommend that platform ladder you’re using? Looks super useful.
Yes it’s great and I love that it’s adjustable. I believe I got it at Home Depot.
Great work...will that acid work on fallout out...I have quite a bite on the rear quarters at the bottom..I tried meguiers iron remover but it didn't do much...thanks for the video
I don’t think so
is this safe for wax on paint? or will you need to reapply protection if not ceramic coated?
Great work bro. Did you dilute it at all?
Thank you. Yes 3:1
Thx for the tip I’m also going to give this a try cause I have a client that has HEEAAVYY Water spot on their car
Love your channel, have learned new things that I have incorporated to my system. Keep up the great work 👍 Also one of the best logos in detailing. Any merch coming out?

Wow thank you brother I appreciate that. I have tossed around the idea of merch. I’ll look into prices.
Thanks for replying, hopefully merch soon. 🙏
Yo what a good freaking content! Very informative, just what I needed. How would you go about wheels with curb rash?
Thank you. I wouldn’t change anything.
I like white vinegar and distilled water mixed 50/50. Not super aggressive but works well for me
Do you need it use anything to nuertalize the acid or does the apc do that?
Great video, if you need 3D wheel acid and your in the Los Angeles area I go to 3D - Santa Fe Springs, Ca
Thank you bro
@@StaySlick 💯
I have meguiars wheel brightener on order which is acid base wheel cleaner. Let's see how it is
You’re the man brotha
No you are.
Gary would you do the same process on a car window?
Does dirt come off body with just rinsing or do you need sponge an bucket
Most of the time you need a contact wash
Meguiar's wheel brightener is good stuff
Yes also great stuff
Good job
Can you use this method on the windshield? I ask because I heard the windshield is laminated and that acid could damage the windshield laminate
You never use acid on glass it will etch into the glass.
How do you prevent the brake disc from turning orange? When using wheel acid
You can’t. All you have to do is hit the brakes for a second and it goes away.
You can use something like atomic Mac from bilt hamber and it really helps but honestly it's not really worth it. You can apply the acid to a brush or towel and apply that way it just takes longer.
I use superior products acid at 3:1 5:1 and 10:1 depending how bad the water spots are.
Much love Gary! Good work and thanks for the info!
Absolutely anytime
Good info. Thank you
Yes sir
Is that pump sprayer better than the IK?
No bro I don’t think so.. It doesn’t work half of the time. The only thing that’s nice about it is it’s electric so I don’t have to pump it
Needed this 🙏🙏🙏
Can you use acid on any kind of wheel ?
As long as it’s clear coated. No raw aluminum.
What wheel acid did you use?
3d
Can you use acid the same way on the paint as the windows on the vehicle?
Yes. Same rules apply. Don’t let it dry.
Where can I find this acid
CAn you put wheel cleaner 3to 1 with water on glass aswell please
For what reason?
Thx Slick
Not a problem
Nice
Did they stop making this 3D product I can’t find it anymore
What’s a good dilution ratio on wheel acid. I have superior products wire wheel cleaner
He said 3:1 in beginning of vid
Yea the container should specify a dilution per the manufacturer.
What’s the dilution
3:1
Oooooooooh yeeeeeeah
why not just dilute muratic acid 10:1 ? Wheel acid prob same thing with a dye and scent.
People have a very sad misconception about acid. Can it cause reactions? Sure. So can bases.

What a useless comment. Grow up kid.
I heard acid on windows is no bueno. Too scared to try lol.
Acid works amazing on windows. Just not hot windows. Same applies to all surfaces
Acid can and will flash on permanently damage a window instantly if not used correctly. I've done it, all bad.
Yes me too
These comments are confusing. Do you mind explaining your exact process on using wheel acid for windows/windshield water spots please? It's clearly more dangerous.
@fccquoter19 yes it’s very simple. DO NOT USE ACID ON GLASS. It will etch into the glass
The best wheel cleaner is the dog pee 😂😂😂😂 or I just drink a beer 🍺 and I go my self😂😂😂 thanks for the good video bro
Lol I’ll have to make a comparison video
