  • Hey guys! In this video I give an overview of how to get into Medical school and study medicine in Australia! This video covers what you need to do to get into medicine based on how I got into medicine and also specifically what the med schools at each university are looking for (ATAR, GAMSAT and interview) so hopefully you'll know what to expect when applying to study medicine! 👊

      Yeah it took a while. I spend a lot of time in year 12 researching this kinda stuff and thought it would be helpful to other students to summarise it in one video. Hope you found it useful!

    Hello! That's was great advice! I was just to clarify something. I graduated high school in 2022 with a low ucat score and have started a uni course in 2023. Does this mean I can still use my atar when redoing ucat in 2023? I have heard that it's possible to redo the ucat the following year as the atar is valid for 2 years (?) despite entering uni, but I'm not sure if this is entirely true.

    Thank you for the video, it was very helpful. Just have a question regarding the atar. Do atar adjustment factors get included into the atar application for the high school pathways? Or do they simply just go off raw atar? Since I heard apparently if you get 5 atar adjustments it increases your raw atar by 5. Meaning an atar of 94.95 gets increased to 99.95 - which honestly seems too powerful and a bit unfair in the application process.

      To my knowledge adjustment factors do not count for most universities for medicine (however it count for pretty much every other degree).

    Are my Uni options limited if I take IB chemistry SL and Biology HL?

    Hey Daniel, I'm just curious on what your routine was after school for year 11 and 12. I'm about to be entering year 11 and I'm accelerating in biology and just wanted to know around how much you studied for each subject.

      I am actually in the process of making a video about my year 12 routine which should come out in the next few days so just look out for that :)

    Did you do any volunteering during year 12? I have no volunteering experience but I have until the end of this year when the interviews are, how important are volunteering/extracurriculars?

    • @danielgibbon2463
      @danielgibbon2463  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not do much volunteering befor my interviews (I was a leader one youth camp and one school canp)
      however if possible I would recommend you do some volunteering because it can help you develop you soft skills and have valuable thing a to talk about in interviews.

    very confused. your chart says there are 3 types of pathways, school leaver, undergraduate (including direct entry & provisional entry) and graduate pathway. But in your video, you did not mention anything about school leaver pathway?

    • @danielgibbon2463
      @danielgibbon2463  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the school leaver pathway is the direct entry - sorry for the confusion
