Time capsule 1971 Ford Torino GT All original and just 5600 miles from new!
From a private collection this car has been stored and put away each year and was purchased from it's original owner. They never drove it in the winter and took meticulous care throughout it's life to keep it in nearly showroom condition. Only the battery has been changed( fluids too of course) and it's original down to its tires, belts and hoses.
In addition to the base GT package some of the options include the comfort weave bucket seats, laser side stripe, 351 Cleveland 2V engine, and power steering. Even the paint looks showroom fresh with only a couple of very minor chips on the front of the car. The chrome shines as new and all of the stainless and trim are mint.
What a find and what a cool time capsule of a 1971 Torino GT Sports- roof.
One of my favorite cars. I loved the lines and the style. It was a nice riding car and depending on the engine options, it was fun to drive. I'm running out of room in my garage though
crazy cool. it’s actually a museum piece.
I live in Germany and two months ago I finally got my 71 Torino GT. Now I am the happiest man in the world 😁

This is a great car!! I had a 1971 Ford Torino GT with a 351C. It was beautiful yellow with no stripes. I had the automatic with the T-shift in the console. It also had those great looking houndstooth seats. I had a blast with it. I would love this one. I had an edelbrock 650 on it with headers and an aftermarket shift kit added to it. That car is a twin sister exterior and interior into the one I had when I was in high school!! Three differences I had a 351 Cleveland with a four-speed dual exhaust and power disc brakes!!!! And those brakes could stand that car on its nose!!!! I'll let that car go in 1976 and kicking my butt ever since ! That white interior and the weave in that seat was most comfortable seat that I have ever sat in even to this day!!! And with that Cleveland it would fly, just lucky I would never killed!!!
i just picked up a 71 fast back to start restoring. drove across 2 states and 22 hours to get it. Always was my dream car, this one here is just stunning. Makes me smile to see one in such good shape and original, hopefully i can get mine this nice in a few years.

One of my friends had '71 Torino,it was red w/white interior. It had the 351C 4barrel & C6 floor shift. I don't think it had side stripes. It was a beautiful car. Another one of our friends also had one. He was an engineer at Cummins diesel in Columbus, IN. He pulled the 351 & put a 429 SCJ in it. That thing FLEW on the top end! Later on he designed intake plates to reduce the flow area of the 4 barrel heads. This gave them more torque & performance for street & the mildly modified race engines. Unless you were building an all out race engine, the 4 barrel heads were actually too big for street performance. I don't know whatever happened to him. I heard he retired from Cummins & started designing & making some high performance parts for 351 engines. Of course this was many years ago. I remember a guy, Tex Miller was his name I think. He raced those heavy Torinos in NHRA stock class I believe it was. We seen him race at the U S Nationals. His car would pull the front wheels at launch. Considering the weight,351 w/ C6 it was pretty impressive!
Robert, Cool comment! yes the 4V Cleveland heads are monsters and really need high RPM's to get them to perform. The gentlemen who owns this collection bought our 1970 Torino Cobra SCJ , 4 speed drag pack car and is doing a complete restoration on it.

So true, like most used up and abused, but no this one.
I had one the same color same laser stripes and trim with same interior. But mine came with a 351 Cleveland 4 barrel and 4 speed with power disc brakes. Traded it in on a 76 Torino GT biggest mistake I ever made!!!! Love that 71 GT !!!!
Wow...NICE FIND, I remember that color in 1971, my Uncle had a Spring Special Galaxie 500 in that color! Didn't see many 71 Torino GT's in that shade though! Hub Caps and Trim Rings were standard equipment on the 70 and 71 Torino GT's as well ';-)
It has to be a low production number on this platform, not sure I have seen another one. Then again not many of these left in any condition. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I remember back in the day when these beauties were in dealership showrooms. Obviously dealer ordered for eye candy, as sadly equipped with only base 302 2v automatics.

WOW You just don't see all original low milage time capsule cars like this much anymore ! How cool ! I Really miss My Fully Loaded M code 71 GT Torino ! Very Difficult to find a Loaded 71 GT with The Shaker, Hideaway's ,Factory Tach, Bucket seats & consul, Laser stripes, AC, And the Louvers these days ! Mine was Grabber Green Metallic...
Robert, I know these are a rare find for sure and in this shape. Your '71 sounds pretty cool. Wait until you see the 1970 Torino Cobra we sold him a while back, it is getting the full treatment and that car is dripping with all of the good stuff. 429 SCJ, 4 speed, drag pack!

This car has the NONshaker hood scoop , just like the one on my Grabber blue 71 Torino Gt I had back in the early 80's. This was a non functional scoop unlike the true Shacker was attached to the engine .
Used to do that with my '70 Torino GT convertible in MN- drove it about 500 miles each summer then put away. My brother bought it with 44k miles on it in 1984 and later sold it to me, I kept it until 2017 it had 57k miles. They stay mint if you take care of them!
"This thing's like mint-mint-mint." I couldn't agree more. On an aside, look at those massive trim rings, have to be 14X7 wheels, maybe even 14X8!
It is neat to see an unmolested and unresotred car in this shape, always a treat. Those are likely 14x 6 or 14x7
@@MustangConnection1 they are 14x7. Same wheels, tires, hub caps and trim rings that were on my 71 Torino Gt. The wheels were always color keyed to the body color of the car.

Just had my 71 sports roof out tonight. That Cleveland scoots around town pretty good.
The door closing sound is just perfect, I wish new cars still had that...

I found a '71 Torino GT in Calypso Coral sitting in a field in rural Texas. Unfortunately it's in a place where you can't get up close to it. I can just make out a 4 speed Hurst shifter through the window, which I believe also signifies at least a 351 4V motor, but possibly up to a 429 CJ. According to Google maps, it's been sitting there for a minimum of 13 years, because the oldest street view is 2007, but I bet it's been there much longer. I swear I'm going to save it some day, but first I have to finish my '56 Chevy truck restoration.
So they only drove it 5000 miles in 50 plus years? Wow that is self control :)

I had a 1970 429 Cobra Jet Torino, of course, now I wish I had kept it.
I had a 1970 Torino with the 351 2V V8 in celery green and dark green interior.
Had a lot of good times with that car but wish I took better care of her.
Traded her in for a 1975 Mercury Cougar XR7.
The Torino was much faster.
I would rebuild all 4 wheel cyl on that before driving though just to be sure and maybe the master as well.

That right side engine was painted. I owned 6 Fords of that era and never saw a difference in paint.
and to think this car probably listed for $4000-$4500 brand new.
That laser stripe isn’t original. They don’t follow the body line. It should be about 1 1/2” down from the body line as it tapers front to back. Beautiful car for sure, but not all original. Somethings been done to it.
What a great car..to bad it doesn't have power disc brakes..or tinted windows?
True it would make it far easier to stop. The tinted glass normally only came on AC cars.
@@MustangConnection1 the tinted windshields came standard on these cars to cut down on glare from the sun and to keep inside temperatures down inside the car.
