I loaded trucks at night for UPS during my senior year of hs. Richmond truck, busiest in the warehouse, I’d scan 2k packages every night and rarely ever had a miss scan. I was a beast, for a pitiful 150 a week. The poor air quality gave me sinus issues and a whistle in my nose that drove me crazy. One day I snapped, feeling directionless and depressed and started bashing my head against the wall. Trying to bash the whistling sound away. My mother asked me to get in the car and I just didn’t care. She took me to a psych ward where I was involuntarily committed for a week. I still remember that fat witch Becky the nurse laughing at me when I realized I had just become imprisoned. This became the founding basis for my family that I was mentally ill. Never mind the fact my dad physically abused me as a boy and that I was given ZERO guidance or real support growing up.
Jesus that's terrible man I'm so sorry that job drove You to such a terrible point, the fact You were involuntarily committed is not an easy thing to deal with especially in that state I can't imagine being held against My will like that without access to the outside world but in those moments You just have to remember that everything is impermanent and is subject to change, such periods in Your life don't last forever even though it can feel like it is because of all the emotions and adrenaline time dilates but if You stop and remember that it will pass time will start to decompress for You. It sucks that Your Mom couldn't help You before You were driven to such extremes and prevent that whole situation from happening to begin with!
I worked a warehouse job for 3 weeks after graduating college. First day on the job I was told if you get hurt it's your fault. I was making $10.00 an hour. Fuck that shit, you have my sympathy.
sheesh, yeah that seems to be the sentiment if You get hurt at most warehouses or intense physical labor jobs like construction etc. Glad You noped outta there fast and did'nt risk getting hurt, its absolutely not worth it.
Been working full time in a warehouse since I graduated highschool. I’m 20 and have suffered from injuries and what have you but I have the upmost faith I’ll figure it out and be financially free in the near future. I wish you luck my friend these videos gave me a lot of insight I appreciate it🙏
I'm glad I can provide that insight for You!! Keep pushing if Your body can handle it just be careful!! not all warehouse jobs are the same because like i said the bulk department i worked in was incredibly heavy lifting just the heaviest stuff..

I was very close to the end at many points. I'm so thankful that i didnt do it. My children make my life worth living. Being alive and existing is such an unlikely thing. I understand your pain I have been working warehouse jobs since I was 19 and 28 now. I am looking to get of it completely soon or definitely next year.
I am sorry You are younger than I am now and going through it but Just try and focus on the good things You still have going for You right now and build on those. I don't know what kind of surgery You had but I wish You the best support from Your family and friends until You make as full a recovery as possible. Encouragement from people You love goes a really long way for your mental state during this time.
Im sorry you went through that, especially at such a young age. I got injured at work 3 years ago. Im 33yo with the back of a 63yo. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to work an in person job. Ive been working from home ever since, tutoring kids. And now Im able to homeschool my child. So like I said on your live, when one door closes, a window opens. I follow Melecia at home TH-cam channel. She’s always coming up with work from home job openings. I hope things get better for you.
Thank You, I am so sorry You also struggled with a work injury it's really hard to overcome alone for sure. It's tough with bad hip because sitting in an office chair can even be bad for Me now so I just have to be mindful of My body and how I spend alot of my time not be too sedentary to hopefully improve that part of things. I'm glad You were able to figure out a work situation that fits Your current needs and I know how it feels to feel like You are double your actual age as well it sucks I gotta do something about it before it's too late. Can't continue give in to it! I'm sure Your child is happy though to be able to spend more time with You due to WFH and homeschooling that can really be good for kids with how the public school system can be for some.
Youre young and to smart. I remember when i was your age i worked warehouse and it was killing me. I eventually natrually drifted into new industries. Keep learning and keep putting in effort to the growth of your life and youll be fine.

Thanks for the prayers, nice to know We are not alone in our struggles. I also lived on My own and if You aren't prepared things can get pretty rough. I wish You the best in getting off whatever meds You are taking.
Get an online job at least part-time. There are so many online jobs now. Try to get one that can prepare you for some kind of career such as basic PC Support ( if you have minimal skills this is possible with no certifications) they will train you, medical billing and coding ( probably require some certification or experience), work for any large insurance company ( my sister makes $25/hr with zero experience) if you like insurance you can turn this into a career. She only works 25 to 30 hours per week. Online education teaching English ( requires at least an associate degree in anything). Many many more.
Thanks for all of the suggestions I will definitely look into a way to get into even part-time work but its difficult as I can't use a PC where I am staying with My Mom. maybe I could get a laptop or something with an ethernet plug but my last WFH insurance job required wired stable internet. just some limitations within My current living situation.
You are so young. Don’t give up. Please don’t take this the wrong way but this isn’t just a matter of laziness right? Being upset about hating the work you do is a bad place to be. If hating the only work you can get is the issue, find a way to a better job and follow the path. You can do it.
The word lazy is a catch-all and usually used to describe people that have mental health and other issues with how they grew up and physical health issues etc. I don't like the word because it feels like that's only what people that don't know Your personal struggles use to describe why so many people are struggling. Consequently the people that call others lazy are being lazy themselves by not trying to fully understand why the person they are talking about is coming off that way in the first place. Hopefully that makes sense but no it's not just a case of laziness because there is always a root cause for people's behaviours and just calling someone lazy is just an easy way to disregard other people's personal problems and blame the individual for everything they are going through.
@@InfinitusYTPeople only use the word “lazy”… because it’s their own “lazy” and uninformed way of “trying to help” - glad you can see outside of that unhelpful term.
I remember I had a bad mattress and told my manager that I pulled something. I had a good time for about 3 weeks until I got a new mattress of course. Other than that I've worked at FedEx for 4 years and havent gotten hurt 3 times. I've pulled my shoulder, sprained my wrists twice. Good thing they paid for my therapy and some workers comp. I'm looking for new jobs now. I'm done with warehouses or at least the heavy lifting...
sorry that You have dealt with work injuries as well they are not fun. good that they paid for Your therapy though. Get out before Your body really regrets it!
Lots of good advice in the comments. I’ll only add: Making lists I make a list of what I need to do or check on or sell, etc. I cross things off as I get to them. At the end of the day, I move items onto the list for the next day. And so on. I use a cheap notebook but helps me see I’m in motion. It focuses me a bit. Absolutely I should begin physically putting down My goals and trying to get things done each day and then be able to cross them out that would probably help alot! I agree that there will always be challenges in our lives but it's how we handle them and recover from a failure that really matters because no one goes through life always winning and never losing. I am trying to keep up with my posts so that my channel doesn't lose it's spark it can just be hard when You have difficulties with self worth and depression/anxiety but this is what I made this channel for to document My journey through these difficult times. Don't give up on Your own videos TH-cam is a bit of a game You just have to play it right I guess if You want the algorithm to step in and do it's work. Thanks for Your comment and support! Much love. ♾️❤️
You are absolutely right and I have been thinking alot about this, it is probably going to be where I have to start out and it should be easier to go full time eventually after I have been part time for a bit. Just gotta start applying 😅
i find it funny when people associate work with physical labor type of jobs, as if working at an office or whatever, doing a non physical labor job isn't considered "working" because that's the energy that you give out, you seem to come across mentally stuck in a box... five guys isn't a fun job but generally speaking you're not going to have a crate fall on your head working a a restaurant or at a deli environment etc... but the bigger issue you seem to have is you lack ambition, a life purpose of what to work towards
Agreed. I have had a job in both "fields" as in working in a physical job and working in an office setting, and frankly, the office (management) job I think was more tiring. Just the stress of paperwork and scheduling employees and doing the bill paying and payroll and whatever, is very tiring. You're right, people don't quite get that unless they have done it.
I agree I have been feeling boxed-in lately due to my current physical and mental condition and even my external environment. I don't know if I lack ambition though because there are things I am passionate about but due to lack of self-worth and esteem I just sort of put them to the wayside and became another cog in the machine not working towards my own goals. but since I started making TH-cam content again its something I am passionate about and I have started getting that spark once again. there is more than just TH-cam though I would love to get into the mental health field someday too It's just I need the resources first before I can pursue something along those lines. I've always wanted to be able to help people but just never knew how to do it. but I think i am starting to figure things out now I just have to take care of myself better and i'll get there with the right effort in the right places.
Been watching your videos for a little while now, since your story resonated with me, at first. To be honest, the more I listen to you speak, the more all I hear are excuses. I don’t think you are as injured and incapacitated as you make yourself out to be. But I’m certain you believe it. You seem like a very intelligent person but I think your mind is working against you, not with you currently. Stop the woe is me nonsense. This is not who you want to be remembered as. Take a breath and pivot. One final thought - you mentioned your dad not raising you to “be a man”. Well, mine didn’t either. I’ve had to crawl and fight and destroy the old version of me, to create the man I want to be. Your dad could have helped, but becoming a man involves taking the responsibility into your own hands and owning all of it. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Let the pain of not being enough transform you. Ask yourself - how would the man I want to be handle this? Start making decisions from that place. With love.
I completely understand the skepticism and I would have maybe agreed with You before I had My MRI and surgery done, but things have been really rough physically ever since. I don't need to prove these things I am saying to anyone here because I know what My situation really is and that's what matters. the whole point of Me making videos about these things is to express Myself and help other people feel less alone in their own struggles and in that process then I can move onto other things but I atleast owe people that have been supporting Me lately a full explanation of why I am struggling so much currently but If You don't want to believe it thats still up to You at the end of the day. maybe one day with the right activity and support I can improve my physical condition and I believe that but i will probably never reverse all the damage that's been done already. in regards to the stuff about My father and taking responsibility for becoming the man I want to be I completely agree with You and I am just in the process of doing the same thing. I have been no contact with him for some time and it's just that much harder without a present father figure You have to figure everything out the hard way it seems so I sympathize with You on that. I don't know how old You are but I just ask that You be patient while I go through that same process now.
@@InfinitusYThow long do you need? From what I understand you have had a combined 2-3 years since your injury that you haven’t worked and you had an insurance job that wasn’t physical but still couldn’t do it. Seems like you are looking for someone outside yourself to just fix your problems. (Like maybe Jesus). You consistently mention not getting the help and support you need. I’m sorry to hear that but I feel like there is way more you yourself can do. Best thing I can recommend is join a church. Can get free counseling through some of them and spiritual guidance
@@Ben-kh7wh however long it takes really, I hope You understand though that Jesus and going to church etc needs to be something the individual comes to on their own volition otherwise it just isnt genuine and most churches these days are suuper cringey and silly its just not my style to worship anyone or anything like that anyway. Jesus was a human being just like us so I refuse to treat him like some kind of higher being thats unattainable for the rest humankind because we are "sinners" . anywho I am probably going to continue my current path of listening to the Dhamma passed down by the Buddha because it resonates with Me and isnt so superficial like christianity is in most places. if I knew a truly good church that wasnt just for show and indoctrinated children and such I might consider it but from what I've seen already christian church won't really work for Me.

because that's the energy that you give out, you seem to come across mentally stuck in a box... five guys isn't a fun job but generally speaking you're not going to have a crate fall on your head working a a restaurant or at a deli environment etc...
but the bigger issue you seem to have is you lack ambition, a life purpose of what to work towards
@@InfinitusYT if you're moving that's all that matters
Shit I quit my 9-5 hour warehouse nearly destroyed me now looking for something else
Good luck dude, hope You find something better soon!
I’m back to that Video after one day , so can im ask you a few questions? You still teaching ?
You will record Videos from gym?
And had you idea to create discord channel where’s we can talk ?
Thank you !
good to see You, not sure what You mean when you ask if I am teaching still, but I will try to make some videos documenting the physical activities I am trying to engage in even just going on walks and stuff like that too so stay tuned!! thinking of recording the next video outside!
Good luck
And to You as well!! 😌
Sounds like the struggle of most poor Americans
And most Americans are poor unfortunately lol. No wealth at all except for the 1%.
@@InfinitusYT very true but also if we stop supporting social norms like buying super large houses and living in fancy of the fancy apartments we maybe able to get prices to drop
Also I admire you for sharing your story and experience with us and I wish you all the great vibes and happiness that life has to offer stay true to yourself and never be ashamed

join the military or trade school. post office always hiring too
These are all good suggestions and you could do video editing on the side too.
Thanks for the suggestions, I just gotta do some research and pick something that works well for Me right now considering My physical and mental health issues.
This is why school is really important. Don’t end up working in a warehouse.
For the most part school is a waste of time
@@Nate-hc9gp yeah but it’ll save you from being stuck in a low tier job. If you do well with the right degree, you’ll be on track to work in a nice cozy position and won’t have to worry about barely scraping by.
@@Nate-hc9gp no its not. whoever fed you that want you to stay at the bottom. School/Trade is essential. Doesnt matter how you do it, but pursuing some sort of higher form of education/skill is always better than none.
I mean I have a high school education but if i had gone to college right after i would have flunked it for sure. i barely graduated HS due to My undiagnosed ADHD and lack of discipline. maybe my uneducated father is to blame for pointing me towards the warehouse work LOL
plenty of college grads were working at the same warehouse I did. If You don't choose the right profession to get the education for You are shit out of luck and alooot of student loan debt. only go to college if its paid for or You reaaaallly wanna do something specific and know where You can actually get a job for it at.
this guy reminds me of those mythical goat men from the Chronicles of Narnia
fawns I think they call them
😂
Mythical snowflake goat man
You remind me of Shrek
And the central figure in Pan’s Labyrinth was a faun I believe. Great movie.
Incidentally , these “Fauns” are half goat and half human. Man, if I was half goat I feel like I could get some work done. Probably wouldn’t go hungry either because they eat everything

And if I say NO? LOL
Bro your flat looks tiny
bro you just have low goals and blame it on whatever. plenty of people work themselves up and make it.
I am not "plenty of people" though I'm Me, I have some real problems and actually pretty high expectations and goals for myself despite what You might think from just watching this single video.
my poor baby
Kids these days. Just want a free ride.
Just how your generation got a free ride. You did not learn anything from previous generations.
Keep telling Yourself that.
It's time ⏲️ ⏳️ 🕐 to move on from that place. I've tried a bunch of different jobs Landscaping Warehouse and Roofing are probably constantly the three worst employers thier always managed by morons who enjoy agitating employees and putting them through inhumane tasks those are trash 🗑 industries my friend get out of there
o7 o7 o7 (these are salutes XD) but seriously screw those managers they wouldnt get on their knees and do the same work they make all their employees do!!
