that’s literally all i️ was worrying about the entire video, especially since they are running around i️ was worried one of them would step on it and hurt their neck
She's right to be careful around wild horses. Ive been around horses most of my life. Even domesticated stock, if not handled on a regular basis are extremely difficult to handle. They are very strong, its a healthy dose of respect, and kindness that helps a horse to develop into a safer animal to be around. I use Natural Horsemanship with traditional methods of schooling to bring out the best a horse has to give. Yet, to never forget you are dealing with a prey species, a flight specialist, which when in panic mode will do whatever is takes to escape a situation they precieve dangerous to them. Looks to be a good programme, even if the chap handling the nags is as interesting as a plank of wood. Lol
many folks have reserved personalities, particularly when being filmed. take some of that understanding of horses that you have and direct some towards him. Keep in mind he lost his best friend to the horses and what he leaves unsaid is best respected.
At least they look physically okay, they've been grazing and seem hydrated. Even tho the lead ropes are left they're long and maybe it's easier to keep them on in case they run off. The guy seemed to like them even tho his names were a little funny
I wouldn't call them wild horses. Untrained perhaps but t]working with truly wild horses is like working with really big deer. You can't touch them much less push them into a shute. They would kick you into orbit.
Doc Oakley and these guys have a God given touch around horses.
Those paints are beautiful!!!

Having leads dangling is dangerous for both the horses and riders.

They aren't in any leaning areas (trees, branches, etc.) And the length of the rope it is to their chest so that they don't trip on the rope.
Awww the horse talked in responses 2 the doc ...

why letting them run loose with halters and ropes? they can easily get caught up on things and literallly break their necks - I've seen it happen.
