Thanks Freddie. Just got the Tidradio TD-H3 and having some fun programming with Chirp and using the Bluetooth functions. I don't make videos, but going through this one is fun. Ham on, indeed!
Channel programming: - Press * on the microphone or V/M on the radio to select "frequency" mode (only displays VFO frequency) - program the frequency and offset, CTCSS codes, channel width using MENU 1.11, 1.12, 1.10, 1.2 etc. - Press FUN on the microphone and use the arrows to select the channel you want to save. "Cover" will overwrite the memory, "Save" will create a new entry. - Press * on the microphone or V/M on the radio to select "memory" mode (displays channel number, name and frequency) - Press FUN on the microphone, select SET (or press 3) and then submenu 3.21 "Name edit" - Use the up and down arrows to select letters and # or * to change the position of the letter in the name - Press FUN to remember the name Deleting a channel: - Press FUN on the microphone, select SET (or press 3) and then submenu 3.20 "Delete Ch" - Use the up and down arrows to select the channel number to be deleted and press FUN to confirm
great review - all three parts - thanks a lot. Will you also test this radio on the spectrum analyser? Wondering if I should get this device (love the USB-C) or an old-style Retevis RT95. 73 from OE
12:24 ooh that's interesting. that means i would just need a key on the steering wheel to have the PTT and wire it in. and eventually run an external microphone somewhere maybe hiding in the ceiling of the car. eventually. anyways very informative, thanks!
Hi Freddie , can you dtmf from the mic on transmit to control repeater links , watched all 3 vids and didn't see you try it , important before I hit the "buy" button .
just got this radio and found in the programming software, if you try to put, say, 446.00625, as soon as you press enter or go to another cell, it will round it down so it becomes 446.00600 though you can put the first frequency in manually! . pity you can't make the memory scan faster, it's sooooo slow!

I have this radio and was a little disappointed to find that it communicates with the PC in a way that's not compatible, or at least not normal, for CHIRP to deal with. Instead of creating a COM / serial port at the PC side, it presents itself as an HID - Human Interface Device. Yeah, like a mouse or keyboard. This, so far, means you're stuck with their not-so-great, partly labeled in Chinese programming software. I've done some captures (yay WireShark and USBPcap) and am working out the communication protocol. I'll post results and a test program on Github at some point, but I don't know how much time I'll be able to spend on it in the near term.
Seem like the software site is no longer working. Gives me web cert warning and then a file not found error. If you saved the install file anyway you can send it to me. Thanks, Todd - KF0LNB.
My bad....windows defender did not like the site so I changed to allow this site and I now have the software. All of my USB c cables are.for charging. I assume I will need to buy an USB c data cable...they are cheap so now worries. Building a bug out radio box with a 12 volt motorcycle battery and a 110 to 12 volt cig power supply with a duel band mag mount antenna attached to the box. Nice and small. Just need to program my local ARES, emergency preparedness simplex channels and repeaters. So far radio is working pretty well for $40. My software version was 2023 v1.

Hi Freddy, I cannot program the radio with the program software, frecuencies as "446.00625" (PMR channel 1). It turns automatically to 446.00600. Do you know why? Thanks.

There will one more after this one too 🙂

Unfortunately this radio does not have AM RX:(
I've been using it for a few days, it works well but the fan doesn't work even when I warm it up by sending it to transmission.
My fan turns but it is very quiet. Not sure how well that cools things down.
Hello Sir. Could you tell me, how to save 446.00625 frequency? The 25 doesn't save, only 446.00600, I can't change the step to 6.25 kHz
