Hello can it be used as a Full working Ham radio with a ham license?

Just followed your video and tried to access allmon3 in browser...I got a "SEVERE: Could not contact the allmon3 manager. Check the allmon3 service, webserver config, and reload the window." Any ideas? Do I need to install web server? I didn't do that according to your install video. How do I install it, if need be?

Lovely video, but we all lack skill in different areas, I wish you showed us exactly what you did and how you worked your tool to crimp the power connector and place it back in there.

This is really neat. I wouldnt mind connecting a radio to a private node and be off the betwork for family use.

What this does not do: Provide a serial connection over bluetooth. What this means: You cannot use programming software other than what it requires you use. You cannot update firmware. You cannot use this with WinLink software. You cannot use this with SSTV software. You cannot use it with a PC without creating an account to program only the models of radio they support. You cannot use it without an account. What should be a Bluetooth serial connection is designed to be completely useless without an internet connection, account, and specific radios. The reason for amateur radio is so that when there isn't an internet/cell phone connection, there's still functional communication... This is the absolute most terrible design in existence.

I'm guessing things may be a little different for ASL3. I've got everything working except for this in my fresh ASL3 node. @HerbertCrosby may be on to something....

Could you post a like to the programming cable? Im looking and seeing a few options like the pc03 or pl2303. Will anyone work or do i need a specific one for this radio? Thank you!

Got it working. I hate to ask how many hours. That took to figure that one out. I was same was way missed the time and weather from Voip. But love the new ASL3. It hasn't crashed one bit yet. You better watch it. ASL group mit put you on the payroll for allstar, lol.

Still working with the lead Repeater Trustee on adding ASL3. The Arcom 210 controllers that we use will do most of what I've seen and ASL. SkywarnPlus is not available and Arcom nor are backups. Thanks again, Freddie and 73. Bill

This is useful but here is it shown in the manual?

Yeah, no fun. The cable/set was only $3. Thankfully, I didn't need mine. The Linux OS has a default driver. I think it was a FTDI Driver. I'll have to download the disk off the Internet if I want to use it with windows.

Has anybody checked this radio for spectral purity?

You're not stuck in the frequency mode. You can save frequencies to memory using the microphone. (Read the instructions on the piece of paper :-)

Can it be configured to act as an emergency same band repeater? Like receive on 147.330, yet transmit on -0.6 (146.730) or +0.6 (147.930)? Or does this only work cross-band? I saw it allow you to set the bottom frequency to the same band at 8:31. I ask because when hurricane Helene came through East Tennessee, there were repeaters that were offline, and I like to imagine that a mobile rig could try to make its way to the top of a mountain and provide weak yet effective comms in such a situation.

how are you transmitting in vfo mode? That is a no-no in gmrs. I have an fmrs feng gt-18 and can set it to wide mode in the cps.

Interesting to see your belt clip install method. I’ve always taken off the battery when possible to make it easier.
