    Just revisiting this video from years ago... amazing what we know now lol. Those H8000 New Hollands/Case Ih equivalent were decent, but they crapped the bed with the next series.
    Still think you would have been happy as well with a Massey Hesston self-propelled machine, but the JD has served you well. Those Sisu motors are actually good engines.

    That would even make me want to go green, good luck Wes, on second cut hay here in Alberta, 16 yr old Hesston 1340 is still running smooth

    Sure would be neat to see another handsome Deere machine in your fleet! The company I work for makes components for deere, and I've toured 3 of their facilities. There is so much craftsmanship and pride that go into their machinery- its unreal! Good luck with the cnh in the mean time!

    To flush the system:
    you will need 2 new filters for the flush, one is a throw away after the flush.
    1)replace the filter
    2)remove the intake line from the reservoir, and drain the reservoir.
    3)connect the intake to the pump to a volume of oil 2-3 times the volume of oil that is in the system.
    4) the discharge of the system that normally dumps into the reservoir, is to be disconnected from the reservoir and attached to a "drain" tank.
    ----------
    IE if the system holds 10 gallons, then you have a 20 gallon supply of fresh oil connected to the pump. You pump 10 - 14 gallons through the system to the drain tank (by starting and running the machine).
    (stop the machine for this part) Refill the reservoir, reconnect the lines to the reservoir, change the filter yet again. Start up the system check for leaks, add reserve oil as necessary to compensate for air.
    -------------
    Those are the basics for a system flush.

    @auoffroad9984 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I totally agree with y2kxj, once the pumps/motors self destruct, the system is forever contaminated. Unless they replace the whole hydraulic system, this problem will haunt you forever. I worked for a stump cutter Mfg in Ohio, we were constantly fixing pump/motor issues because of poor engineering. We would flush the system but the T275's would keep breaking down for the same reason......brass in the oil. Talk about some pissed off customers and service guys! Your call, but I would dump it for a green machine. Hate to see you work on machines and not working in the field! Good luck.

  • @dieseLmaN1193
    @dieseLmaN1193 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    with your comment of the filter catching all the brass it will catch most but as others have said as soon as it is plugged it will bypass and secondly you have to remember where the brass is originating which is from the pump or drive motors so the brass is running through wherever it comes off before the fluid ever makes it to the filter

    we know you Pandy , now go up to Messicks , climb in a new one , and wave as you drive off for a test run , and go mow a few hundred acres of ground while they are waiting for parts , doubt they would say a lot , because they know you will tell the world about it all ;)

    I just traded a 2011 8060 for a speed rower 200 , has 56 hours and I lost a right side planetary , now it's sitting in the field waiting om parts , very disappointed , however all my farm equipment is deere I ran the deere w235 and liked it because the cab was like our combine and easy to navigate and very quiet , only thing that killed it was price. About 30k more but my dealership was scared of getting into a new holland and having it sit forever on the lot.

  • @watahyahknow
    @watahyahknow 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    some filters have a build in overpresure bypass
    this prevents the engine getting too low oilpressure if the filter isnt changed on time
    it does mean all the dirt have a direct route intoo the motor

  • @y2kxj
    @y2kxj 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    That filters maybe a by pass filter that means if it's cold one plugged it will by pass. Most of the crap will be in the return filters. I want the tank drained and flushed. Also you will never get the metal out of the coolers. After a few hours the filters will need to be changed and opened up to see if there is any more contamination.

    I've never lemon lawed a piece of equipment before I had to lemon law my first f350 and it was a pain in the ass the heat never worked and they couldn't figure out the problem 6 months later they took it back finally and gave me a new truck. But with the cost of that machine being what it is and it only has 168 hours on it you got a strong case for turning her in

  • @timmcneil1536
    @timmcneil1536 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I for one can certainly understand your frustration with New Holland over this issue, this shouldn't be happening for one and two they should be providing you with a "loner" machine while they work out the problem. I would expect New Holland to be more expedient in their response to this issue and more understanding that this machine is your life and income (without it you wouldn't be in business). I would certainly understand your desire to switch brands over their lack of concern for your plight.

  • @TheTomBevis
    @TheTomBevis 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    All the filters I've worked with are designed to bypass when they get clogged. I think that you got a system with so much crap in it that the filter bypassed the first time you used it and the rest of the contaminants wrecked all the other components. A couple of steps, like flushing out the metal shavings after machining or cleaning all the casting sand out, must have got skipped in the manufacture. It reminds me of the old song about the made on Wednesday car.

  • @Fordfarmer9700

    That suck I know the feeling had that problem with the hyd motor in our John Deere would only steer right turns out the pistons in the pump were shot and I want to see that filter cut open and really see how bad it is or was.

  • @TheDisorderly1
    @TheDisorderly1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I dunno Wes, I'll bet that filter has a high pressure bypass spring in it; which means once the filter is plugged with crap it will push the filter media out of the path of the oil and continue to flow unfiltered. Otherwise the filter would explode if it got clogged with dirt.

    BIG money lawn ornament,
    That sucks the machine fails with less than 200 hours, the hydraulic systems are closed and nothing should be contaminating your oil except the pump and drive debris that's failing internally.

    Most spin on filters have a bypass that opens up if they become clogged so if that filter does have a lot of material in it you could have already circulated crap throughout the system.

    My bet is that New Holland will get this right. You correctly point out that you are somewhat of a public figure. New Holland is quite popular around here and new equipment has always been problematic but the dealer/company have resolved each issue. Hydraulic pumps are no doubt purchased by New Holland and you can bet they will make the manufacturer uncomfortable until the failures are resolved. That being said, I am surprised that you didn't look at a John Deere prior to this purchase?

    If you have hay that needs to be cut the dealer should bring you something to cut it with. They have basically stopped you from doing your work by telling you not to operate it. Tell them to flush the whole mower and compensate you for your trouble. Like I said you like green tractors so I hope you will try green hay handling equipment and I hope it makes the NH junk look silly.

  • @Wyomingfarmer
    @Wyomingfarmer 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've heard bad things with the new deere mowers, a guy near us bought a brand new r450 this year and hated it, he then went straight to the neighboring new holland dealer and bought a new speedrower, not exactly sure what he hated about it so much but he does like the new holland better so make sure and really demo and fully test which ever other windrower you try out. You may have just gotten the 1 out of a thousand that ever has the issues you're having, the pump looked like a sauer danfoss pump, the header pump anyway and maybe it or one of the other pumps was contaminated or starved of oil from the get go.

    Hi Wes some filters are on return lines and the crap is on the wrong side before it gets taken out. To be honest they will probably never get all the junk out that system and it's mostly all toast. I would not be scared of the Sisu motor thats the best part of anything Massey sells. They took that motor from the Valtra tractor like I run, mines got 8000 hrs and not touched other than for servicing . Basically Agco brought valta for the motors when Perkins sold out to Cat. then they stopped selling the tractors in North America . Now they are telling us we got to buy Massey tractors. Like my buddy and I said if we wanted a F ing Massey tractor we would of got it when we choose the valtras. Agco are just buying good brands using the parts they want in the massey tractor, then cutting off supply's of the other brands this side of the world, maybe Fendt owners should start worrying!.
    I wonder how well thats going for Agco sales with dictating what tractor a guy buys from them. Regards Robert

      read up on the sisu, they are very well engineered. IDK about the smaller ones, but the bigger ones have a mid support on the cylinder liners, which greatly reduces vibration, which is supposed to eliminate, or greatly reduce cavitation erosion. They are also very good on fuel. From what I hear, each engine is put together by a small team, and their pay is docked if an engine they put together has any sort of failure.
      I would not hesitate to try a Hesston (not Massey, no matter what the paint and decals say. :) ) with the SIsu, very good machine.

    Ya know, for some one that keeps buying new equipment so you won't have down time for broken equipment, you sure have a lot of down time for broken equipment. Lol I know it's not funny Wes but if you don't laugh, your libel to snap on someone and start plugging New Holland equipment full of holes with your fire arms! At least I know I would be! How much bull shit is that? New equipment that can't go 1 year without massive failures!

    I hate to tell you this but I think your problems with that machine began during assembly some how the engine was running and there was not ,hydraulic fluid in the system and that driver pump became damaged .

    you know why the New Holland engines are black? then you can not see the oil spill haha .... lol
    ( yeah okay, I know, it is an FTP (Fiat PowerTrain) formerly Iveco)

      Sisu (Valmet) engines are from Finland, not Sweden and they have nothing to do with Volvo BM.

      I agree with you a friend has a ago Hesston self propelled mower and the dont seem to have many problems with it. It's a great machine and the engines are quite reliable
