    For a guy who has a whole list of things you're not, you sure get amazing results. Must be due to you're awesome imagination and creativity. Not to mention a wide variety of skills honed over many years of modeling. Don't try to deny it.

      Lol, you should really see my soldering. 20 years later and still silver gloop and melted ties, lol. My benchwork is wobbly like a toddler learning how to walk, and I edit out derailments, lol.

    Interesting and informative. There is little or no exposed rock to look at in my part of Michigan, so I don't know much about modeling it.

  • @brandonlepley3793
    @brandonlepley3793 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    There are several reasons for white deposits on rocks. Initially deposits on exposed rock cuts can be caused from recent drilling and cutting. As the rocks weather these marks will fade overtime. As the rock weathers other deposits will appear due to minerals and salts being dissolved by water. Mineral build up will create marks that flow down the rock face with the direction of water. The color of the deposits is determined by the minerals and other impurities in the rock type. For instance some rocks in North Central PA have a high metallic mineral content and will stain black and red colors versus rocks that have higher concentrations of calcium and salts. Calcium Hydroxide is the primary reason that aged concrete develops white streaking. Depending on the colors you can model a specific type of rock and age of exposure.

      @@djstrains Do you have many slide fences in that part of the state? They're always something cool to model and can add to operations forcing trains to run at restricted speed if they're activated.

    What really matters is if you're happy with it then it's good. Not saying this is the tutorial of all tutorials because that would be a stretch. Dry brushing. Not every paint needs water. Just an observation not a criticism.

  • @josephbrandtner7713
    @josephbrandtner7713 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The scene you opened with showed typical western PA. beautifully stratified rock layers. My opinion: I think you missed an opportunity to show and exposed coal seam sitting on a layer of western PA's green tinged limestone and of course layers of sandstone. Also, if you drive on rt. 51 near Woodruff St. you will see layers of grey clay. I did like the added greenery. But don't cursh them. Light and airy looks natural. (I think). All in all, I love your drone footage and your work.

    When you dressed like Bob Ross, did you have bare feet, as he always painted with bare feet as he said it was more comfortable
