I think I've watched one of your videos before. And I just want to say that I finally went to Oregon last week, for the first time! I was mostly vacationing along the coastline: Seaside, Cannon Beach, Rockaway Beach, Manzanita. By the way, what kind of camera are you using? I bet you're sick of this question. 😬 Great video though!
@@JudeDeras Hi, I didn't fish out there. I was there for four days. I stayed in Rockaway Beach. It's a quiet city. The viewpoints along the coastline are just beautiful and breathtaking. Personally, the residents seem to be relaxed and polite, which is very different from what I'm used to. I'm sure you'll like it as much as I did.
I normally only go crabbing with my gear in months that end with the er sound, however it seems that PK can go anytime of the year and catch his limit. You got skills for sure PK! Tight lines everyone
Where are the beaches? Lol @1:58. Gave me a good chuckle. Love the videos PK! I’ll even come back and rewatch the old ones. Always brings a smile to my face.
It's always going to be a good time when you're out on the boat with your First Mate. Good friends are a treasure. Congrats on a great day on the water.
I've been watching your videos for a year now. You have inspired me to start crabbing and fishing. I moved out to the coos bay area in December last year. I have been thinking of getting a boat but never been on one. I wish you would do a video on boating safety and what kind of gear and safety equipment you use for boating beginners or any advice you have would be appreciated. Thanks for all your great videos.
Scott Carlson I bought a new boat a couple years ago... I say go for it! There is tons of info out there, and ask everyone you know with a boat for their opinions... especially people who have worked on charter boats or as guides.... lots of professionals at the marina to talk to, bring an extra six pack and pick their brains.... And for weather, ignore NOAA websites and 800 numbers, they don’t update often enough, get the windy dot com app and never be caught off guard by bad weather.
Hey PK, great video as always. Thanks for sharing your trips. The ODFW regs on rockfish just changed , you can no longer keep china, copper or quilback rockfish from a boat. But you can keep 7 general marine fish now instead of 5. Just changed yesterday I believe so you were probably fine on this trip, but just FYI for the next trip. Here is a link to the regs myodfw.com/recreation-report/fishing-report/marine-zone
I’m in the market for a nice boat and you my friend just give me an idea I’m goin to invite people with disabilities to fish in every single fish trip that I go you guys have a blast thanks for your videos
My boat is only a 16 foot. so the swell must be 1-2 foot, and the wind under 10 mph. Usually, I get to go out about once a year, 2 if I'm lucky. Basically, it's very rare.
Oregon Life ahh man what a bummer.. I saw the video of you killing rock fish and was wondering why you don’t got out more often but now I know.. thanks your the man keep the videos coming
Great vid Pk! Getting excited for my next trip out there. I really like the reds better also. I don't think I'll make the tournament in August, but shooting for September...hoping to bring a high school friend along, he's working in North Dakota...I'll do a swing-by, and pick him up. I was wondering if you used seaseme oil for the stir fry....it looked great! When you said you used franks, at first I understand why, because its a little vinegary, which releases the meat from the shell..but also thought I saw some apple cider vinegar...but you explained the franks was something other than their ussall hot sauce...gonna look for it. Tight lines 😎
Hey, Roland! both tournaments have been cancelled, and they are moved to summer 2021. Oregon doesn't allow large gatherings, so I had no choice. Be careful out there, and stay safe, buddy. Tight lines always.
Oregon Life must be the temperature difference or Cali has more sandy bottoms. What about stripper or seas bass from the beach.. I seen you get a steel head we don’t get those down here
I am not sure about Oregon Fishing regulation but when you run out of bait after your first pull, could you not have filet out your first 3 keepers and use the heads and bodies for bait?
If your salt water is clean there is nothing better than fresh crab boiled or steamed in ocean saltwater. A close runner up might be steamed in white wine but it is back quite a ways from the ocean water. No seasoning needed and if your pot is big enough boil them whole for the best flavor and clean them after they have cooked. Don't overcook, drop in after the water comes to a full boil and cook for no more than fifteen minutes (after it comes back to a boil) on very large crab less on smaller (especially if you clean them first). Like all seafood overcooking ruins the texture and flavor. Lots of crab butter is my preference but some like fresh lemon butter for dipping. Eat with french bread. The only way to beat it is having fresh King Crab!! Cooked the same way. Clams and muscles ditto.
Hey, folks. For more info on my adventure in Oregon, check out my site: www.everylist.com.
I swear sometimes they suck it in when you go to measure them lol jk great video
Hey I’m moving to coos bay. I always watch your videos. Do you ever catch halibut off the beach or in your boat?

You could have used the rockfish head for bait

Hey PK I am heading to coos bay for a week.. do you ever get halibut off the beach there? We do here in Cali l.. Just curious thanks
No, I've never caught a halibut from the surf here, or anywhere.
Oregon Life must be the temperature difference or Cali has more sandy bottoms. What about stripper or seas bass from the beach.. I seen you get a steel head we don’t get those down here
Awesome. It looks.real good
Another great video thanks for sharing could you please start showing what your using for a jig and what it weights thanks.
Sure, I'll try to remember it in future videos. But this was a dropper loop on a 3/0 hook and 1/2 oz weight.
@@oregonlife Thanks for the info you make great videos.
Omg. My mouth is watering.
Love your videos but I always end up hungry!
That dock is perfect for red rocks
Great Time :)

Just a reminder, bring more crab bait!!! 😂 lol
Great video. Nice job on finding the honey hole. We always have franks hot sauce, never heard of that stuff. Whats it like?
It's sweet and spicy. Kinda like sweet n sour sauce, but spicier.
Im getting some today, thanks for sharing
Don't forget Raking for crabs!
How’s Lynn doing these days, haven’t seen him on here in a while
I would have used those fresh rock fish for bait.
Ray Bly
Use short lifespan fish as bait; some species of rockfish live over 100 years...
Your place for dinner? Good day!
Great video! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

The mustards are the best ...mix it either the meat or some rice...
must have been good, you didn't even take your life vest off well maybe you were scared you was going to drowned in the food :-)
Great! Now I'm hungry....
Did you moved back to oregon?
not yet. just up here visiting my mom again. I go back and forth a lot.
Enjoy
Use canned dogfood, and poke holes in them for bait
Are you vietnamese? 100 like.
Where to crab without boat?
Try siletz bay with castable traps. You can use a handline several piers and docks at Newport- yaquina bay.
Yum....my
Pinoy po ba kayo?
I'm Cambodian.
Hi
👋👋👋👋👍👍👍😋😋🙏
if you run out of bait catch a fish and gut him and take his head if you want to keep going
Next time , clean and gut your fish , use that for bait ..!!
