I almost applied in vet 2 years ago but since the tuition is quite expensive, I changed my mind and pursed something else. Just like you said, there are other ways to get involved with animals! I will definitely volunteer in a shelter in the future!
It's funny how people assume we make bank, but also I was it was true haha! 🤣 The TH-cam hustle is no real though It's definitely a passion of mine, and I aspire to reach the level of success you've achieved as well as Your Vet Amanda etc🙌
Love this! Tell a lot of vet hopefuls that if you’re in vet for the money you’re in the wrong profession hun 😅😂 Such an interesting insight to the similarities and differences in salaries between the UK & Australia
That is probably more true today than when my ex, who was a vet got into practice in the mid '70's. He had the book called "The $100,000 practice". By 2006, when he died, he had turned it into "The $500,000 practice." He was in it for the money reputation and prestige (ego), not so much for the animals and a solo practitioner. He was from Syria and went on scholarship to Univ. of Vienna for college and vet school. Very cheap. No tuition for residents and for non-residents it is around $1500 tuition/yr. not including books, etc. So if you want a cheap vet education go to Europe. Vet schools as well as medical schools in this country essentially rape the students. You can't have debt when you graduate or you will never get out from under it. The professions don't pay enough and the cost of living keeps going up in this country. That is why it is so hard for vet students to get started. It is a lot of work to begin and end with. Back then you could buy a practice from a vet who was retiring and make arrangements with them. Now, everything is more difficult, especially when you have no money when you get out of school and a huge student loan to pay. Starting salaries are not very good either, as you were saying. So, if you want to be a vet, try getting into vet tech training program first and work for a few years before deciding if you want to go further and if you do, find a vet school that isn't going to take you to the cleaners. The medical and veterinary situation in the US is terrible. That is why the costs are so high. Nothing but greed. Also know that there is keen competition in this field and vets are not very friendly to each other. They will use you if you are new, to their advantage.

Bless you. I don’t think I would do your job if that’s all I made. Hope it improves. Merry Christmas.

If you’re going into vet for money don’t.
Do you have a plan to work out of UK to earn more?
You should come work in California!
