The Ruddy Darter dragonfly (Sympetrum sanguineum) is one of the most common dragonflies. Immature adults, both male and female, have similar coloration to the adult females. It is difficult to distinguish between males and females when they are only a few days old, but males turn from yellow to red after a few days. De Bloedrode Heidelibel (Sympetrum sanguineum) is een van de meest voorkomende libellen. Onlangs uitgeslopen exemplaren, zowel mannetjes als vrouwtjes, hebben een vergelijkbare kleur met de volwassen vrouwtjes. Het is moeilijk om mannetjes en vrouwtjes van elkaar te onderscheiden als ze nog maar een paar dagen uitgeslopen zijn. Geniet van de schoonheid van deze jonge libellen in deze video.
