Six of Glasgow's most notorious pubs and their infamous past lives

- Back before cocktail bars were popular, Glaswegians were more accustomed to smoking and drinking warm beer in dimly-lit pubs.
These more traditional public houses were filled with some colourful characters and were integral to the culture of the city.
However, many of these pubs could hide some notorious business within, with some of Glasgow's biggest criminals operating or visiting these bars.
Our friends at Glasgow Live delved into the history of some of the roughest pubs in the city, that were once booming businesses.

The Stag inn in Springburn was known as the Stab in not the other one
Every pub that ends in Inn gets called the Stab Inn.
Why on earth would the "Dalriada" be considered notorious? Some people live sheltered lives.
They forgot the Glen Bar in the Garngad, the Morven in Springburn next to Balornock the Broomfield Tavern Barmulloch to name just a few
Anywhere in Garngad was dangerous if you didn't kick with your left foot.

Harder pubs in Denaby Main, South Yorkshire back in the day. Even the police went in mob handed just to use the toilet LOL

@@camcan22 it wasn't the murder capital, but a proper tough, hard mining village where even rockweilers walked around in pairs😉
