Since you apparently skipped the teaser at the end of the movie I kinda hope that you will watch it afterwards to decide for yourself whether it spoils the movie or not. I seriously cannot grasp why every reactor is told not to watch that.
part 3 is 100% Doc's movie.
Everyone always seems confused why Griff sounds the way he does when literally Doc said be careful he has a few short circuits in his bionic implants
i always thought Doc meant that in the same way as "a few cards short of a full deck"

5:30 - Did you notice that Jaws 19 was directed by Max Spielberg? Which is the name of one of Steven Spielberg's kids in real life.
Michael J Fox actually played 4 (maybe 5) parts in this movie. Marty, Future Marty, Marty's Son, Marty's Daughter and Himself from the 1st Movie (if they did not re use footage from the 1st movie)
Came here to make this comment. Him playing his daughter always cracks me up. Like, the expected thing would be to get Jennifer’s actress to play their daughter, but nope. Marty McFly in drag.
I just wanted to mention, that Marty's daughter Marlene is also played by M.J. Fox. Now I don't have to. :-D
Thomas Wilson had just as many roles: 1985 Biff, old 2015 Biff, Griff, 1985A Biff, and young 1955 Biff.
Also, the old man who inadvertently gives Marty the idea to buy the sport’s almanac was the voice of Roger Rabbit and Benny the Cab.

Exactly they didn't actually have power. Many attempts have been made by others though, to create the power idea though.
just think, in the span of this movie they were in current 1985, they were 30 years inthe future in 2015, alternate 1985 due to biff's messed up time line, 1955 again, and a letter from doc in 1885. also note, in the casino, when talking about biff tannen's legacy, they said "it all started with biff's great grand father beufford tannen" he will be one of the characters in 1885
This one is actually my favorite one. Back to the Future is pretty big in our house. We have a Delorean that my husband converted to a time machine and he just recently wrote and published a book. So you could say we've got some experience with this movie franchise. :)

Nike released the Air Mag in 2015 to commemorate the film, the shoes were auctioned off with the proceeds going to charity
This movie using time branching with a delayed catch-up, so before the first movie, Marty had never been back in time so he couldn’t appear in the background even had all the movies been planned at once. (That would be more of an immutable time.) The delayed catch-up is more of a movie thing to bring tension- you changed time, you have days before it catches up to you and you change, better fix it. :)
Great, that somebody already wrote this so I didn't have to. I am always impressed, that most people think about the "Everything has always happened" approach on Time-Travel (or as I like to call it the Dark-Time-Travel). For me, Back To the Futures Time-Travel is the OG Time-Travel so I always think of branching Time-Travel first not this one. It must therefore have something to do with which movie you watch first. Maybe they have all watched Harry Potter before this one

Its crazy how doc went back 70 years from 1955 now its been almost 70 years since 1955
They got widescreen TV, drones, 80's nostalgia,, and multitasking right. Also, we had a president like Biff. Not sure about subdivisions, but I know some nice townhouses built in the 80's here became sketchy in the last decade or so.
Well now we got a grandpa President now.

The other thing that it's very hard to discern is that Marty's daughter is actually played by the same actor that plays Marty. It's excellent make up and prosthetics. He also does an excellent job making his voice a female voice.
The mechanic that was helping biff also was also the the guy in makeup saying thumb $100 save the clock tower was character actor Charles Fleisher sorry for spelling of the last name!
Did you recognize Frodo Baggins, proclaiming video games to be like a baby’s toy? Yup, Elijah Wood in his first big screen performance (I’m pretty sure, anyway).

Yes. The first movie was supposed to be a 1 off. Zemekis and Gale both said the car flying was meant to be a joke and that they would never have put Jennifer in the car if they knew they were going to make a second one. The reason they said they wouldn't put her in there is so Marty and Doc could go on different adventures with just those 2.
It's almost a moot exercise to "rank" them. Personally, I love the whole trilogy. They're all so great. Depending on who you ask, different people will tell you that each one is their personal favorite. So, taken as a whole, that's why the series overall is one of the best and most consistent franchises. Looking forward to part III, don't keep us waiting too long. :-)
Yeah. Part 3 is my favorite. The second is my least favorite, probably because they had to project about what the future would be like and now that we've come and gone and it's still so different... just makes it harder to relate to. But 1 and 3 being in actual historic times, well, can't really get that too wrong.
FUN FACT! Charles F. was also the voice of Roger Rabbit of the movie 🎥 Who Framed Roger Rabbit 🐇!
@ 6:22 I think Griff is Biff's grandson because he called him Gramps. They never explained who or what parents were between Biff and Griff. Maybe they were going to answer that in a Part 4! LOL!
If Buff were 17 in 1955 he'd be 77 here. So makes sense he would be his grandson.
I remember "Look over there" as being a well known trick before these movies came out. I still use it to sneak french fries! They can always tell by my grin. I've gotta work on my poker face.
I have to say the second BTF is my favorite of the series! The fact that they had to get everything from the first movie to mesh with the action of the second one and have it still make sense was brilliant!
and Marty's line at the end when he says "I'm back from the future!" is my favorite line in the whole thing as well!

Because the cafe 80's used to be a workout gym in 1985. They kept the same ascetic when made into a cafe again.
Crispen Glover (George McFly) was very vocal about his disapproval of the "they're rich now so it's a happy ending" aspect of the first movie, so the director replaced him in the second movie - then they lied and said it was because Crispen said he wanted more money. Crispen is still sore about that when it comes up in interviews.

The tunnel in this movie is the same one used in Who Framed Roger Rabbit as the entrance to Toon Town.
Nike made those shoes available to the public in 2015, appropriately named "McFly 2015's". They were basically collector's items that were pricey on release but went for far more among online scalpers. Their laces weren't automatic, though Nike would acfually produce prototype self-lacing shoes a few years later.

Crispin Glover (Marty's dad) actually sued the film over using his likeness and presenting it as if he had worked on the film. They used old footage from the first movie that was unused and a different actor with heavy make up for background shots and quick weird takes like being upside down. He was even credited as playing the dad in this. He sued and won all in total about $1 million plus the Screen Actors Guild wrote into their contracts that a film cannot do this to an actor after the lawsuit. It's called using a Fake Shemp (google that for a lil interesting History of something that used to be commonplace when Hollywood didn't pay anyone for anything). SAG declared that :
"the use of fake Shemps to emulate the likeness of another person without their permission is forbidden under Screen Actors Guild contracts, largely because of a lawsuit filed by Crispin Glover - following his replacement by Jeffrey Weissman in Back to the Future Part II - that determined that the method violates the original actor's personality rights."
I love all three movies, but my favourite is the third one so can't wait to see you react to it 😊

one thing i never knew until later watching some deleted scenes, it turns out that the guy talking about the cubbies winning the world series in 2015 that is an old man collecting for the clock tower, is the same guy as the mechanic biff is arguing with about how much his car cost.

Yeah the story with Crispin Glover is just a wonderful example of how horrible the studios can be. Glover didn't like the end of the first movie and would only agree to come back if you was paid the same as his co-stars. The studio refused to pay him as much so he stood his ground. Problem is studio didn't want people to know that he wasn't in the sequel so they used his life cast from the first movie to make a mask for another actor to wear and used stock footage of him from the first movie that he did not allow. A lot of gross mishandling of things by the studio and it ended in lawsuits against the studio by Glover.
Back to the future 1/2 are my favorite movies all time!

We went to see BTTF 2 in a theater that had it playing Oct 21 2015. The whole place cheered when they said the date. It was so fun.
Cryspin Glover, the original George McFly, refused to appear in the sequel because he reportedly didn't like the ending of the first movie. I think he sued over the use of his likeness in the second film. Too bad because George was such a good character.
Great reaction, I really like all these films but have fond memories of the third film as it was the first film I ever saw in a cinema.

Originally there was never meant to be a part 2. Part 2&3 were filmed back to back.
Did you notice Jennifer was a different actress between 1&2.

That "what's that" crap was a big thing in the 50s and 60s. I had it done to me a time or two.
The meta-joke of Cafe 80s is that it's NOTHING like the real 1980s, because "people always get other time periods wrong". Yes, 2015 was purposefully wrong. Any resemblance to the actual 2015 was either a coincidence or a Real-Life Retcon with people reverse-engineering the 'prediction' (like the Nike Shoes or "hoverboards"),

It wasn’t that the actor didn’t want to play George… in fact there have been lawsuits. They didn’t WANT him. He demanded the same salary as Michael J Fox. He also was big trouble on the set of the first film.
Take notice, the girlfriend isn’t the same actress either.
Always makes me laugh when Doc says Jennifer 'isn't integral to our plan' or something like that, I mean, what plan did you have before, that included her anyway?!?! Surely she isn't just 'not integral' but entirely superfluous!
Of course, we all know this was all just one mistake on the part of the scriptwriting...a sequel wasn't planned so etc etc...
But it is funny because ALL of the f***ups in BTTF 2 can be traced back to Jennifer being there...which was entirely unnecessary in the first place lol.

Yeah, BttF isn't exactly consistent with its employment of time travel mechanics. e.g. how did old Biff return to 2015 if the timeline skewed into an alternate future?

Trust me, back in 1985 no one seriously thought there would be flying cars by now, let alone 2015! LOL! As the story goes, the producers never intended to do sequels. The flying car bit at the end on part 1 was a joke. And some in the audience did laugh a little at the notion. However, the public response and success of part 1 compelled them to make the two sequels (which were filmed together thus the part 3 scenes at the end), but they were stuck with the flying car thing. I've read that Zemeckis or some producer said if they knew there would be sequels they would never have had a flying car in part 1.
Well they didn't need to make the car run on banana 🍌 peels and 💩 filled diapers? What possessed them to do that?

At the 28:35 mark you can see Michael J Fox’s eyes twitch. Looking back, that was probably the first of his Parkinson’s symptoms.
Hindsight is 2015... I mean, 20/20.
But really, at the time, they just thought it was a normal twitch. Everyone gets little muscle spasms/twitches from time to time. And I imagine it just lent itself to the line really well so they stuck with it.
23:55 Yeah, obviously a particularly stupid thing to say when trying to remain inconspicuous, but it's sort of also a fourth wall break as well imo, placating the audience somewhat. The tone of the scene gives away that there's no jeopardy, it's just nice to see I think.

They planned both 1 and 2 before filming either one.
3 was added later.
other way around. they made 1 and didn't plan for the sequels. The director said that if they new there was going to be a second, they never would have ended the first the way that they did.
This is also why it was 5 years between movie 1 and 2 but movie 2 and 3 were filmed back to back.
@@Melissa-wx4lu Nope. The only people left out of the loop on the sequal was the actors, and us. Micheal J Fox had to call his agent after seeing "To be continuted" in the movie itself. They already planned it and he had no idea.
They had to change the plot of the 2nd one however because of some guy and a lawsuit over his dad's character. And they instead made him die in the film and rebuilt the movie.
They then filmed the last 2 movies together once that was sorted out.
@@HalkerVeil nope. They never planned for a sequel until they saw what a hit it had become. They agreed to movie 2 only if Fox and Loyed returned.
They planned for just 2 but the plot grew so long they split it into 2 and 3. Which was why they were filmed back to back. The to be continued shows up at the end of film 2 with a trailer of film 3 since they already filmed it.

Huge plot hole, ignoring all the time travel nonsense, you have to just accept those paradoxes, that book, having the same length and width, would need to be over 50 foot thick for it to contain every sports result...
It was the future... maybe the text on each page could scroll like a tablet and each page was just for each year? lol
Biff is apparently modelled after Trump. And rewatching this now my mind boggles. It's really interesting. Haven't seen this is ages.

Marty’s father is a different actor, however the studio used makeup and other things to make it look like the other actor even using a mold of his face from the first movie. Glovin sued them for this and actually won and from then on they can not make characters in a persons image without their consent.
