- Skyrim released with an abundance of quests to do, places to visit and adventures to go on back in 2011. However, seven years later many players might finally be beginning to question if they’ve experienced pretty much all of what The Elder Scrolls 5 has to offer. Well there’s still reason to suspect Skyrim is keeping a few secrets. So today we’ll be taking a look at five more things you (probably) didn’t know you could do in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

You can tell Maven about Louis and Sibbi wanting you to steal the horse. She'll tell you to go ahead and she'll settle things with Louis down the line.

...in a random encounter you'll come across letrush's dead body, with a dead bandit nearby that has a bounty on it from Maven
In White River watch the bandit leader's journal he talks of Eisa and Ra'Jiir the same Eisa and Ra'Jiir in the pale lady quest
Yup. I seem to remember seeing another bandit journal talking about them at a third location, too. Those two bandits are about the most hardluck duo in the game. I wish Eisa was recruitable. For one, she's about the tallest character in the game next to Tsun.
@@samsonguy10k I think that other location is Lost Knife Hideout. I'm sure one of the journals in the Pale Lady quest mentions them originally being members of the Lost Knife bandit gang.
I think you already mentioned it... But... If not... Did you know, that there is a Black Sacrament Ritual in the Basement of the House owned by the Black-Briar in the Town of Rifton... Behind a Master Locked door...
Now that you have run out of synonyms for large you are just going through all the ways to say that Skyrim is not small, don't think we can't see that.

#5 also you can go tell Maven Black-Briar and she will tell that her and Sibbi "have a history" and that she will "deal with Sibbi", and tell you to go through with it. ( Sibbi Black-Briar dose not disappear/despawn ). Another thing that you can do is after you steal Frost you can tell Louis that you are *keeping the horse* and you can either threaten him or you can kill him
Nate would you mind making some morrowind content? I would love it and I'm sure you can find something worth making a video about.
Maybe however the down grade in quality would be huge
@@shazzeler_hamlet it's a great game imo. I played it in 2018 so I'm not blinded by nostalgia. At first I got a little overwhelmed by it because of how different it was but I grew to love it. You can make graphics a little better with graphic extender mod. You should also download the code patch and patch all the bugs and all. The combat system isn't like skyrim or oblivion where every strike hits so you have to be careful at character creation. If you choose great sword as one of your main skills you should use a great sword because you literally can't hit anything with Amy other weapon. Give it time and don't rush the game.
I play this every night on my switch... even got the game back on launch in 2011 I absolutely love it
Don't forget you also can go and tell Maven Blackbriar that Sibbi plans to steal the horse. She won't stop you, and in fact she says she's not super surprised. She even goes along to say something about wanting to watch her child and see if he screws this up or not.
"Can talk to Brynjolf about Sibbi", no, you can talk to virtually every major character in the Thieves Guild, as well as Maven Black-Briar herself, who literally gives you her blessing to proceed (even though her guards will never get that memo).

In Promises Kept there is an option to steal the title of the horse from inside Blackbriar lodge and Sibbi tells you of a money stash there too if your speech skill is high enough. Then Maven doesn’t come after you.
I'm surprised you didn't mention that if you tell Mavin that Sibbi and Louis want you to steal Frost, she'll tell you to go ahead with their plans and she'll just make them pay afterwards
do you mean the super obvious solution to the quest that I did on my first time ever even touching the game..? that "secret"?
I LOVED fact #4! I think that's hilarious! I also really admire all your efforts in finding new things to talk about.
My first play-through after drop day was close to 120 hours and did not go to every place on the map. After all the DLC my second play-through was over 200 hours. Now I'm on my ninth play-through and still love this game. And yes I play different every time, but the stealth archer is my favorite build and eventually go back to that.
Oh oh I found this out a few days ago. Once you leave helgan and go to Whiterun if you go in the roads to Markarth you'll see a pair of Al'ikir talking with a redguard woman. The woman is clearly annoyed and tells them off after one of them says "She doesn't have the scar."
Okay I actually did the "snipe her" quest as you described it and it did exactly that, I didn't recognize her from that distance when I entered I simply saw someone and had archery 100 cause I liked bows XD Good shit man great videos and keep up the great work!
I'm catching up on your videos and sorry if I missed it, but I'm surprised that you haven't mentioned being able to turn the location of the Dark Brotherhood into the Empire right before you can decide to join them.
Super late but, you can tell Maven about the horse and she'll tell to go ahead with stealing it, hinting that Letrush won't even make it out of the Rift when he has the horse. That woman frightens me.
I always send the kids to another city before Whiterun so good to know what happens if they stay.

You said you're locked out of your home during a siege, but during the Whiterun siege on one of my playthroughs I could get into Breezehome and see my kids and wife standing inside, and this was on Xbox 360
The quest man who cried wolf actually begins after talking to the steward
When I brought Frost to Louis, there was a dialogue option to say that I wanted to keep the horse for myself. I didn't and just handed Frost over, and Louis rode off... for about ten paces. There was a bear a few meters away, and when Louis dismounted to fight it, I grabbed the horse and got the heck out
The Magic resist part was clutch linked to Miraaks boots is perfect since I was making a Miraak build
Something weird happened in my game with wolfskull cave. I was just casually sniping the draugr from the ledge, I tried killing the mages up top of the tower but couldn't hit them. I noticed some movement on the tower ( note I had not killed the head necromancer), a draugr attacked and killed them all somehow completing the quest. When I went up to the tower I heard fighting and I came upon a still alive mage with a deathlord just chillin together. The deathlord had not been killed and resurrected as it didn't turn to ash when I killed it. I found on top of the tower a dead draugr, the dead head necromancer and a few piles of ash. It seemed like one of the draugr just turned on them out of nowhere for whatever reason and the mage and deathlord bros took out said rogue draugr.

In winterhold in the tavern is you complete the theives guild quest you can find the charcoal inscription paper that you stole to translate the falmer journal

A glitch i found that happened to me twice in game, I dont have it connected to the net (aka i found it on the cd/xbox 360).
Where a bunch of draugger came up as chickens, and not as draugger. An the only reason I knew they were Draugger was because the sounds they made and the fact it Fas Ru Da ded me off of the cliff edge. lol A chicken that performs Fas Ru Da LOL
To find this, go to skybound near orphan rock. Unless a patch fixed it, it leads to a VERY hilarious sight.
I recently discovered you can disarm traps with the lockpicking skill. Still have to figure out if it works for every trap, sadly I didn't have time to try due to moving and work. Does anyone figured this out? I've played over, ... Well too much hours. Skyrim still amazes me and so does Nate.
I've got a question; could you make a video on the quest Delphine gives the Dragonborn that asks to kill Parthurnaax? I'm having issues; before I went and traveled to go defeat Alduin, Delphine gave me a quest and said I need to kill Parthurnaax because the Blades feel he deserves to die, I tried to go an attack Parthurnaax and kill him but he didn't die at all, he just kept flying upwards towards the sky than landing back onto the stone wall, it's like the game programmed him to stay there and not go anywhere else, I even spoke to him before attacking him and he seemed to agree with the Blades but he couldn't do anything about it. Another thing, I noticed that after I defeated Alduin and returned to Skyrim, the quest to kill Parthurnaax is completely gone, like it gets erased permanently. I also noticed that the Grey Beards of High Hrothgar are completely gone as well, which got me asking, "why and how".
During battle of whiterun, I got into breezehome and only saw one kid panicked.
It's odd though... why would Astrid mind the siege of Solitude happening when you're supposed to be on a contract? Wouldn't the chaos of a siege be the PERFECT time to assassinate someone undetected? Kind of like the second Sherlock Holmes (with Robert Downey Jr.)- who anticipates a murder when the whole city is being bombarded and combat is routinely happening in the streets?

The first time I did Wolfskull cave I accidently killed the leader from the bottom of the hill while trying to snipe potemas spirit thing, I thought i killed it but when I got up there everyone was dead, draugr were everywhere, and the master had an ebony arrow in him😂 so that finally makes sense to me🤣
What about the previous doing guard is a hole in the back of of the castle inside where you jump down and do the previous Dawnguard deal

You left out the best part of the last one. If you tell Maven about the horse thief from the start and give her updates as you go, she lets you keep the horse at the end and neither her nor the horse thief send anyone after you.

I told Louie to piss off and kept the horse. Now he hangs out at the whiterun stables and attacks me if he recognizes me. Pretty funny. He's invulnerable too.

@@everberry51 Maven is kind of the Thieves Guild's patron. They do jobs for her, she keeps the law off their back. If they do anything to upset her, they'll lose that protection.

Hey nate here’s something I just discovered:
If you finish doing all the greybeard quests WITHOUT visiting the college of winterhold, you get unique dialogue options when speaking with Faralda and Urag. She lets you in if you demonstrate a shout, and Urag gives you the elder scroll books if you tell him you’re the dragonborn
i thought that was standard for most players to hear? The only time it wasnt the case was when i did a playthrough completely avoiding any dragonborn quests. i tend to not venture north in my playthoughs mostly.

Yes exactly, but if you discovered that you're dragonborn before that, you can instead tell Faralda that, and she will ask you to prove it with a shout. Do a quick FUZ ROH DAH and shell let you in.

I dont get Astrids logic. Wouldn't a siege be a great chance to assassinate someone? It's a great distraction and the attackers would end up being blamed
The thing is that a wedding can't happen during a seige and so is a meeting with the emperor,and if a seige happened while the emperor's ship is present they would just sail way

@@Tasorius you can though... The moment you first meet her when she asks you to kill one of the three people, just kill her instead, and then you can kill the rest of the brotherhood after letting (Imperial person of importance(?)) Know about your encounter

Especially if the stormcloaks had ships in the harbor as well (realistically they would, for game reasons I can understand why they dont). This would make an alternate mission where you have to find where they are being protected.

I actually had an encounter I've never heard of before last night, I was wandering around with the Aetherial crown on, and I bumped into Taron Dreth, the guy who betrayed Katria while they were after the forge. He asked where I got the crown and I mentioned Katria's name, long story short, he's dead now, and I have his named robes in my display area. Don't know if it's been covered already, but I thought it was pretty cool.
That's cool as hell. That's one of my favorite quests. I'm in my 5th playthrough and hope I meet that jerk on the road one day...
I have met him before, but for some reason he doesn't seem to show up in every play through. I wasn't wearing the crown when I encountered him.
Fun Fact : his named robes look like master robes, but have a similar effect to apprentice robes.
After countless hours of playing Skyrim, i never knew the sister of the Riverwood trader guy shows you where to go in order to retrieve the Golden Claw. I don’t know, it was pretty neat.

It may be kind of mundane by now, but I’ve never heard anyone mention it. On my first ever play through of Skyrim I wondered across Cisero transporting the Night Mother’s coffin and a wheel had broken on his little wagon beside a farm outside Whiterun. After some talk with Cisero and a little fetch talk with the farmer, you help repair his wagon and he’s on his way. At the time I had no clue who he was, and thought why he had such a unique voice? I still remember this random encounter years later because of how innocent, unique, and sinister it was. “Please won’t you help me?” Said the strange jester. “I’m just taking my mother to our new home. Please won’t you help us kind traveler?”
Also a fun fact about Cisero, if resurrected with the spell “Undead Thrall” (highest level conjuration zombie spell) he has a few unique dialogues that I found funny. Most followers just moan or grunt when they die, Cisero says “Coming mother”
For my first couple of playthroughs of Skyrim I didn't know I could escape Helgen with the Stormcloaks......I feel like such a fool now.

My first time I didn’t know that I could go with the imperials
I was always wondering why I couldnt help the stormcloak in my later playthroughs until my 6th
well i always went with the stormcloak.. it took me like 5 playthroughs of the intro till i realized the other door and that there is the imperial guy and that you could choose one of the sides by the doors you take.. pretty cool..
but now i don't really care so much anymore.. but there is this exploit in the keep.. when you go with the stormcloak you kill the 2 imperials and take the key from them before him.. then he stands at the door saying you found a key? but he is essential and never turns hostile so you can just not open the door, sneak and level up onehanded, sneak and destruction on him as you want.. sneak to 100 in like 5 minutes or so.. it's a bethesda game when you can leave the first dungeon having done not even the intro yet and be like level 50 or something.. xD

This is one thing I found that was pretty interesting. From what I've seen on Google I'm the first to find it too. So, when you go to the Dawnstar museum where you start the quest to get Mehrunes Dagon's dagger, there will be what appears to be a torn up piece of paper. If you put about 40 points worth of magicka into it using sparks, flames, or frostbite, it will turn the piece of paper into a bucket. Yes, that's right, a bucket.
I vaguely remember there being a way of turning various items into I think a bucket? It was either an anti crash thing or a dev thing, I can't remember

I've known about this there are a few videos of it that have been out for years weird you couldn't find anything!
I actually knew about the one where you stop the necromancers summoning potema. I did it in one of my first playthroughs and do it everytime now. By far the most fun way to clear that dungeon.
Fury & Frenzy are a great way to go as well. Just cast it at the necros up there and let them kill each other. The main ritualist isn't particularly strong and they'll rip her apart.
Killing the ritual leader earlier in Potema's quest is a really neat tidbit.
After a couple of times going in there, I had figured out it was one person needed for the ritual. So the next time going in there, I sniped them, and then slowly sniped others. I started to see the draugr acting a bit weird. After a bit I figured out they were fighting the mages. It was rather amusing to watch from where I was. And Nate is right, the draugr do win.

I do that on my marksman playthrough. It's a sight to see the wolf queen spirit or whatever flying around. Trust me.

There are other methods involving becoming a vampire and getting certain perks. Bummer is the spell absorption tends to absorb your conjuration spells.

I'd love if in Tes:VI there was a quest where some dude tells you "Hey people have heard strange noices from here, it's most likely nothing."
And instead of it being some massive hoard of enemies, it is just that. Nothing.
You leave thinking, "oh whatever was in there is outside waiting for me."
But no nothing. You think it'll come back sooner or later... but it doesn't...
...however sometimes it almost feels as if it did...
Honestly, nothing is the scariest thing there is.
Just to emphasize the tenseness, have a rock/pebble drop or the sound of it and what might be footsteps. But nothing is to be found.

Did you know if kill harkon (I don’t know if this works with the Dawnguard) you can return to valerica you can tell her that you killed him and she will come back and she will replant some plants in the courtyard.

I joined Dawngaurd, and I had her move back to the castle, so I imagine she regrew some of the plants, but I can't say for certain
the game literally tells you to do that if you pay attention to the dialogue...
I STG this is like Emrys paying you for completing quest objectives during a Forsworn Consiracy quest all over again...
Just listen to the dialogue, or turn on subtitles and read as you skip it... FML...

You can meet Cicero before the dark brotherhood quest line and help him fix a wheel for carrying the night mother. Just tried to kill him. He's essential...
And a gnomish clone of the actual character.
If you turn him in to the guard he'll come back to the farm and murder the farmer and his wife.
He's essential - until he tries to kill Astrid's hubs.
Here's a one that's not been mentioned yet: In one or two black books, there's a puzzle section where you take damage if you enter the shadows, and have to stay under these floating moving light sources in order to not die. But you don't _need_ to use those light sources; player-made light works just as well. The novice-level alteration spell Candlelight makes the whole section _laughably_ easy. Magelight works as well, and I haven't tested torches but I assume they're equally effective.
Torches work, I've used them before.

A lantern from the wearable lantern mod works well. I like having both hands free for spell casting

Laughably easy, unless you're past a certain level, in which case there's a final Lurker Sentinel (or something similar) that is massively strong

One time during the seige on whiterun, one of my two kids (the girl) went missing after the battle. I didn't see her for weeks of real life play, but the boy was still there. I assumed it was a feature your kids could die in the seige
Then one day, she shows back up and acts like nothing happened. "Young lady, you have been gone for over a year. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?"
